Self-awareness is the first step to improvement.

Resident Evil Village: Human AU
Yeah, alright, I know I haven't posted art in years but I'm back and as gay as ever.
Here's my contribution to @cookiekitten91 's human au, from left to right are Cassandra, Bela, and Daniela.
HEADCANONS BELOW:
Cassandra
Dark Academia Lesbian
Joined debate class to get a one-up against Bela during arguments, probably
Gets the most "so how'd you know you were lesbian..." messages *wink wonk*
Probably into Ancient Greek Mythology-centric music, and maybe Hozier
Big fan of Sappho
Bela
Cottagecore Bisexual
Likes frogs and insects alot
Her room is filled to the brim with plants, all natural, because she's mentally stable enough to take care of them.
Currently into girl in red, or anything acoustic, probably
Daniela
Skatergirl Lesbian
Most likely to pass out in a bathroom at Chili's
Her gallery is filled with awful photos of her sisters, you know, just to spite them.
Probably into Panic! At The Disco
General
They all went through a My Chemical Romance face, you can fight me on this.
Alcina knows the lyrics to heart because they used to blast Black Parade real f*ckin loud at ungodly hours in their youth.
She can't tell if she should be happy that they're comfortable expressing themselves or face palm.
Cassandra and Daniela go out and record each other skating, the thing is, they're really bad at it, so it's mostly just videos of them face planting, front flipping into a railing, skating down the ramps without the skateboard on, or all of the above in no particular order.
Bela and Cassandra play music together, usually, it's peaceful, of course until Cassandra decides that Bela's performance was just one note off and sh*t hits the fan.
Bela and Daniela usually go have picnics together, or just eat out in general. The sisters have their differences but the few things they do love in common are animals and food. Their most frequented places to visit are Cat Cafés
Aight, that's it, send me your other headcanons if ya'll have any and maybe I'll draw them too!!
To the Nonnie who mentioned freakin’ Brunnhilde (Valkyrie) and Ava…whelp, I couldn’t get it out of my head. XD I hope you happy!! Cause I could not sleep on this, holy shit.
Name: Raelynn Starr
Gender: Female
Personality: As a kid, she was hard, cold, and defensive because that’s what happens when so many people tell you they don’t want you. Time and time again she was told she wasn’t enough. That she wasn’t wanted. And Brunnhilde and Ava gave her a home, helping her learn that being soft was okay. Showing emotion was okay. There was nothing wrong with it. And she softened up a lot. She is a sweetheart. Maybe a little brisk and rough around the edges at first (and when angry), but she is a good person. She’s genuine. You will not find someone as honest, loyal, and loving as her.
Special Talents: Master acrobat and swordsman. And she’s got a knack for making the perfect drink for anyone. (Call it a gift she got from watching her mom XD)
Who they like better: Aw, Raelynn has a soft spot for both her parents. They took her in when she had no one. But she likes different aspects of both of them. She loves that Ava taught her to be a kid and enjoy life while Valkyrie protected them both. She loves that they taught her to be a strong, capable woman.
Who they take after more: Raelynn doesn’t really take after either of them more. They are both more than capable, strong, passionate, and brilliant. These are aspects of her personality that she got from them. They also make it very clear that she doesn’t have to do the hero gig. She can just enjoy her life. And for a long time that’s what she does. Really, if someone who knew those women looked at Raelynn, they would swear that she was their own flesh and blood. She’s very much their kid.
Personal Head canon: Raelynn was adopted by Ava and Valkyrie at eight years old and raised by them. She lives in New Asgard with her family and only joins the hero-gig when someone comes a-knocking looking for help. Valkyrie’s got a kingdom to protect, but Raelynn is free to help.
Face Claim:
If they had a kid
If you’re curious
I love all these women. Holy shit. And I’m loving the Ava love!! She needs more. I hope we see more of her in the MCU.
Ava Starr- Ghost
I feel for her so bad.
She was used as a weapon
AND IT WAS PRACTICALLY HER WHOLE LIFE!!!
She was a child!!!!!!!
She was hurting
She just doesn't want to die
She wanted to be cured
And like... just... Ava starr
I can't fault her
I’ve started a new personal project. I want to know the runes better—I know them well enough to write in them, and I know the meanings of a few and the names of most, but I want to be able to reach the point where I don’t have to refer back to my notes to look up a rune’s meaning.
So I’m going to devote a page in my notebook to each rune so that I can focus on them individually. I know memorization is one of the best ways to learn new knowledge, but I need to make it more personal and exciting.
The first page includes all of them, but the next pages will focus on each rune individually.
— Fehu —
I knew fehu translated into “cattle” and meant “wealth”, and I just always assumed it was a rune to represent riches and prosperity (something I’d like to come close to achieving in my lifetime, but in today’s economy I don’t think even rune magic can help much with that).
After reading the Rune Poems, though, I came to realize that Fehu also represents the negative aspects of wealth; the mistrust and treachery between friends and family when one suddenly becomes more wealthy than another.
— Uruz —
After doing Fehu/cattle, knowing that Uruz meant “Aurochs”—or an ox—seemed weirdly redundant. After more research, though, I learned that if Fehu represents domesticated cattle, Uruz reminds us that they were once wild.
Uruz typically represents physical strength, though I found a lot of connections to water as a force. In my experience, water is typically viewed as having a feminine energy, so I liked the balance between the traditionally masculine energy of physical strength and the female energy of water.
An inverted Uruz could represent the negative results of masculine energy—obsession, lust, violence, domination, arrogance, and weakness. Uruz is a good reminder of the difference in how a man’s natural energy can make him a force for good or a force for evil.
— Thurisaz —
Thurisaz is an interesting rune. At first inspection, it is a very aggressive and volatile rune—which is why I went for such a visually aggressive design that included a 7-pointed star and elements of the Helm of Awe.
“Thurisaz” translates into “giant”, and represents many qualities of the Jötnar: danger, pain, suffering, and violence. The Rune Poems specifically point out “anguish to women” and “torture of women”.
We can’t forget, though, that Thurisaz is also the rune of Thor, who—among other things—is the main protector god of Midgard and mankind.
It seems—at least to me—that Thurisaz represents the duality of male energy (particularly male sexual energy). Like all raw forces, it is neither inherently good nor evil. It is how it is used that defines it.
Thurisaz should be used as a rune for warriors and defenders, but never out of anger or fear.
— Raidho —
It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these.
Raidho translates into “Journey on Horseback” or sometimes “Wagon”, and it represents movement, work, and growth.
Interestingly, Raidho doesn’t just apply to physical journeys, but also the journey of one’s life. It represents the choices we make that drive us forward through life and make us who we are.
Broadening this perspective, Raidho represents the journey (both physical and otherwise) of all things, ultimately representing the rhythm of the universe.
— Gebo —
Gebo means “gift”, but in studying this rune, I learned gifts carried different meanings in ancient Norse culture than they do today. Old Norse texts suggest that receiving a gift required you to return a gift in kind, similar to the notion of “what goes around comes around”.
Many Norse stories feature this theme of giving or sacrificing one thing for another. Probably the most well-known instance of this is Odin sacrificing “himself to himself” to learn the runes (also Odin sacrificing an eye at Mimir’s well). This tied the rune to Odin, as well.
— Wunjo —
Wunjo translates into “Joy”, and represents ideas of harmony, community, and loving relationships. It felt right to use a design based more on sacred geometry for this one.
This rune represents forces that bring people together to form healthy and even loving relationships. It embodies the joy that comes from all positive interaction.
— Hagalaz —
I had actually taken a picture of this page a week or two ago on some heavily cracked concrete, because I knew the odds of it hailing were slim, and there would be no way to predict it, anyway.
Guess what it’s done for the past two days?
Call it what you will—fate, destiny, gods, chance—but we’ve had a couple heavy hailstorms. And surprisingly, it totally slipped my mind that I could take a photo with it, until I was walking under a covered walkway to my car and heard a low rumble of thunder—which made me think of Thor.
Hagalaz represents the raw, unstoppable destructive power of nature (as opposed to Thurisaz, which is more tied to the destructive power of man). It reflects a force that is too powerful to be harnessed by mankind. It also has ties to water and female energy, and can represent the purity of a “spring cleaning” and nature’s ability to cleanse and take care of itself.
(note: this isn’t to condone polluting/raping our planet because “nature can cleanse and take care of itself”. If humanity pushes nature too hard, nature will push back, and the next thing it might decide to cleanse itself of could be us.)
— Isaz —
Isaz means “ice”, and represents the stillness that winter can bring. It is a good rune for meditation, though just like the ice of winter, Isaz won’t stop a problem completely, but rather stall it.
I’ve been making my rune pages mostly in order, but I skipped ahead and made this one months ago, because I knew by the time I got to it, there wouldn’t be any snow or ice on the ground, anymore.
