There wasn’t a beautiful birth suite. There were no doctors or nurses. There were not any high tech machines to measure anything. No fancy phones for selfies and social media announcements. There was a virgin girl, her new husband, a dirty stable, a swaddling cloth and farm animals. The one thing you they had that was more important than anything a hospital, a doctor, a nurse or a fancy birth suite, any other modern day convince can provide. They had the ultimate Christmas gift. One not found in fancy wrapping under a tree or a stocking hung from a mantle. The only priceless gift you can receive; they had the presence of the Lord. So take a moment and remember during the giving of gifts, the feasting on bountiful meals prepared for or by loved ones, during the caroling and family traditions remember he is the reason for the season. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.
