Season 4 Gag Reel
Thank you, Jenna Marbles, for being an amazing and hilarious part of YouTube!
Person of Interest + Gideon the Ninth Houses Two is for discipline, heedless of trial; Three for the gleam of a jewel or a smile; Four for fidelity, facing ahead; Five for tradition and debts to the dead; Six for the truth over solace in lies; Seven for beauty that blossoms and dies; Eight for salvation no matter the cost; Nine for the Tomb, and for all that was lost.
House placement explanations:
Since we only see a couple members of each house (except for sixth and ninth) there wasn’t a lot to work with for comparisons. So i also used this excellent breakdown of the houses as a guide and that’s where quotes below are from.
Second House - Joss Carter - “Strengths: Excellent, brave, disciplined soldiers, capable on the field and in the general’s tent.” Second is the soldiers’ house and they’re very much about keeping order and doing things the correct way. Though Carter doesn’t line up with their weakness of being inflexible she still fits pretty well.
Third House - Zoe Morgan - “…setting fashion and sparking gossip with their every move. Not only do they spark rumors, they also diligently collect intelligence, both personal and political.” I don’t have much to add to that, though the weakness of being untrustworthy is less true of Zoe.
Fourth House - John Reese - “Strengths: Bravery unfettered by common sense. Weaknesses: Bravery unfettered by common sense.” Self-explanatory. Press F for John yeeting himself out a window that one time.
Fifth House - Control - Fifth house is both “an unshakeable monolith” and “has become stagnant and complacent after centuries of dominance. They can no longer adapt nimbly to new threats.” Control as the head of the ISA is first presented as someone in a position of high authority in the government, but her downfall is failing to adapt to the threat of Samaritan. She tries to use her old techniques and methods to deal with a very new threat and it doesn’t turn out so great.
Sixth House - Sameen Shaw - Sixth is the nerdy, bookish house so it may seem weird I’d put Shaw there, but Shaw is a former med school student who was described as brilliant by her teachers and she’s also a nerd. Sixth house is the only house we’ve seen show any real interest in actual medicine which lines up with Shaw’s medical skills. Also, Camilla, the sixth cav is extremely smart and has med skills and is absolutely fucking brutal in combat. and finally: “They are flexible and adaptive, always ready to change their approach.” Shaw is the one of the team who’s the most strategic and adaptive on missions (see: blinding the sniper, the pipe bomb, that blood transfusion scene, etc).
Seventh House - The Machine - Seventh was the toughest because no one fit perfectly, but I went with tm because she’s actually kind of dramatic at times (when she sent finch a poem, ‘maybe i should die’, etc). Seventh traits include ‘stoic’ and ‘dutiful’ which fit her pretty well. Also: “They draw out moments of beauty, preserving people, places, and times in amber for later dissection and delectation.” and “prolonging the space between life and death and between death and decay.” Both are reminiscent of her preserving knowledge and people in herself forever.
Eighth House - Samaritan/Decima - First of all, the quote from the poem fits great. Also from the strengths and weaknesses: “Purity, certainty” and “an incapacity for self-doubt”. From the little we see of eighth house, they are not above using people for their own needs and twist situations around so that they are somehow always in the right. Also, they’re kinda assholes.
Ninth House - Root - “Terrifying. Enigmatic. Heretical. Devout.” Not only does that fit Root, but she’d totally get off on that description. The heretical and devout part fit her relationship with TM quite nicely. Also she’s just a dramatic fucking goth and would probably be very into painting her face like a skull for The Aesthetic™. And, while keeping spoilers to a minimum, there is perhaps a vague notion of similarity between the locked tomb and the machine.
