"I am a hurricane. I am an earthquake. I am a tidal wave. I am a disaster that can't be prevented."
Rosalynn Samantha Granger is the last born of two children to Damon and Anabelle Granger. At the age of fourteen, Rosalynn is Reaped for the 72nd Annual Hunger Games as the female tribute of District 4. With no real hope of winning, Rosalynn manages to claim an unlikely victory with the help of her mentor, Finnick, who’d given her advice to play the innocent angle. Rosalynn becomes the youngest female Victor, but there’s also a bigger price for that.
Every night, Rosalynn is haunted with the the sight of the light leaving one of her closest friend’s eyes. And it was all of her fault. If she had just told the Careers that he was her friend, they never would have killed him like they did. But she had impulsively denied having any relation to him. Trent Goodwill, only sixteen, who had trusted her to keep him safe in the pack of Careers that she had managed to weasel herself into. And she let him die. She wins only when some unknown factor, likely mutts sent in from the Gamemakers, wipes out the rest of the Careers, leaving one, that she narrowly escapes her death from, becoming a Victor at the last second when, against everything she believed in and against everything she was, she sent her only weapon, her dagger, which she had to fight to reach for after it had scattered away in the fight, right through his skull in the middle of his forehead as he pinned her down, teasing her with the blade of his spear, pressing it into her thigh slowly, aiming for a vital vein. But she managed it. One kill. One kill that would haunt her for ever, and one death of a friend she'd never finish grieving over.
Rosalynn, at age seventeen and still haunted by the guilt that Trent had left her, leaves for District 13 with her brother Nate upon hearing the news of the impending Rebellion. She wants to help in some way, after feeling like she’s caused too much damage in the Games, and ends up becoming a military nurse for the soldiers that fought on the Rebels side. While she nursed, Nate fought. Luckily Nate was never injured. But while they were fighting in the War in their own separate ways, their parents were killed in a fire. Orphaned, the two return home to nothing after the Rebellion is over.

ALTERNATE(S):
1) Rosalynn’s parents and brother left her months before her Reaping, claiming to be in search of the legend that District 13 had become. She was left alone, to fend for herself after she had claimed her victory. The house goes untouched, relics of her family remaining in the same spots she had left him. The only sign of the hope she still clings to.
2) Rosalynn returned home from her Games to find her parents’ home burned to ashes, no signs of life anywhere. She assumed them all to be dead until, while in District 13 after escaping 4 for the memories were a far too big burden, her brother Nathan returned, covered in ash, but alive. And he told her of their parents. He had escaped narrowly, but they hadn’t.

 PLOTS:
#1:Â Rosely
The most dreaded time of the year is here once again. The Games. Already being a Victor, it’s automatically Rosalynn’s obligation to be the mentor of the next two tributes of District 4. Upon arriving at the Capitol, a boy approaches her, Barley, from District 12, a look a desperation crossing his face. Though she pushes past him with her tributes in tow, his face haunts her until she forces herself to find out more about the boy from District 12’s mentor, Haymitch Abernathy. They both conclude that Rosalynn would be able to help him, simply because Barley has something to fight for.
When Barley has a small breakdown shortly after the parade, the only person that reaches out to him is Rosalynn, and despite the looks she gets from her tributes, she offers him to dinner to explain that she wants to help him.
And that dinner turns into a bond, something special between them, as they sit out on the balcony night after night, talking. Even when Barley has a bit of alcohol drumming through his veins. In short, they fall in love. Hard. They fall fast and hard, and far too quickly because the Games are coming. And when they do, there will be losses.
Among those losses is Barley’s friend Carsten. He watches him die in the arena, his corpse washed away by the waves. But in the end, Barley arises a Victor. But not without consequences. Rose meets with Snow. And he’s not happy. Not at all.
And when Snow dishes out punishment, Rose reaches her breaking point, especially when her and Barley are separated for months at a time before the Tour. And even when she's reunited with him, she finds her secret to be a burden that she can't bear to put on him.
 #2 Grangeshade
When her parents died, Rosalynn was only one, and she was left in the care of her older brother, Nate. Nate doesn’t know how to handle Rose on her own, causing Rose to develop the habit of bottling her feelings. All of her life, she never knows the feeling of being wanted. And when Nate informs her that an old family friend is visiting to bring things for them, Rose takes off for the waves, wanting to escape.
When the friend arrives, Heath Shade, Rosalynn is stranded out on the beach after getting frustrated with surfing, trying to devise a plan to get as far away from the house as she possible can. However, before she’s able to, she finds that Heath is the first person who understands and can relate to her. He is the first person she can talk to. Heath sneaks up on her, surprising her. And slowly, they fall in love. Slowly, they give in to each other with passionate nights in the coven Rose kept hidden, with visits in Seven with Heath’s siblings.
When Heath goes on to the Capitol to keep them buying lumber from Seven, Rose is left in charge of his siblings, two little girls and a boy. For weeks, she watches them, waiting for Heath to return home. And when he does, he’s changed. The Capitol has fueled a fire that can no longer be tamed. Heath loses it, scaring Rose, scaring the kids. And now he wants to join the rebels. And when he does, when he starts coming home bloodied and bruised after training, he won't say a word about what's going on to anyone. Not even Rose.
#3Â Peeta/Rose (Non-romantic)
With blood already on her hands, returning home to District Four after the Rebellion is over and finding ash where her home should be is the last straw for Rosalynn. She goes spiraling over the edge, wondering, running far, planning on returning to Thirteen but not sure how to get there. Her supplies run out, her mind becomes tangled. She goes without human contact for months. Until somehow, she finds herself in the middle of Twelve in front of a bakery. And one man, Peeta Mellark, decides to take a chance, like he'd done for the woman he loved so long ago, and take a step outside to help her. Even if she's reluctant to trust again. But slowly, he gains her trust, feeding her bread, making her tea. And giving her somewhere to stay. Finally, she starts to trust. She helps in the bakery. She begins to come alive again. There are setbacks, but Peeta, the only one in a long time willing to be patient with her, is right at her side to help her through it.Â
#4 DeroseÂ
After Rosalynn returns home from the Games, all she has left is her brother, Nate, after a fire that took with it their parents and their home, who she loves more than anything in the world. During the outbreak of the Rebellion, Rosalynn has always been an avid supporter of any rebellious causes, but once the news of Katniss Everdeen becoming a symbol of the rebellion breaks out, she feels as if she has the power now to make a change and cause reform. But all hell breaks lose when the Capitol invades District Four yet again, capturing any rebels in the process, including their own beloved victor Rosalynn Granger. Separated from her brother, Rose begins to go into a breakdown, refusing to eat or sleep or do anything as she is held hostage. During the initial prisoning, the citizens of Four are scarcely fed and allowed clean drinking water. Most soon die in the first round of the holding cell, Rosalynn meagerly surviving. She is then moved to a separate prison, miles away from her previous one and near the heart of the Capitol. There, she finds herself housed with many of the other victors who had been captured for being suspected of being in on the Rebellion, and for a short time, she is locked up with Peeta Mellark and Johanna Mason before they are moved into the actual Capitol themselves. In her current, prison, each prisoner is assigned their set of guards, with Demosthenes being one of Rosalynn’s guards. He starts off small, handing her bits of pieces of his own rations before giving her cleaner water in secret. With him on the night shift, he really gets to bond with her and he learns about her life and he learns about his own. And together, they form a friendship during a time where hope seemed pointless.
#5 Galelynn 1
Unable to help herself, Rosalynn weasels herself into the mission team that's to be sent into the Capitol with the intent of getting to Snow and capturing him once and for all. The mission team that consists of the saved Victors of the Quell, the Mockingjay herself, Katniss Everdeen. Finnick, having been her mentor for her Games, and Plutarch are the only ones that she knows and trusts at the first meeting, all the others, especially the one she knew as Katniss's cousin, give her the death stare, not trusting this new addition to their team. It isn't until during the mission, when she's separated from the rest of the group with only Katniss's cousin, Gale, and is injured, do anyone else begin to trust her.
#6 Galelynn 2
The loss of her parents is so fresh, so new to her, that for awhile, Rosalynn can only shut down and succumb to the darkness that's long inhabited her mind since the Games. She finds Nate in Thirteen, finding refuge there when the Rebellion breaks out, but she hides herself away, unable to eat, unable to think about anything but the ash and destruction she left of her home back in Four. Until she stumbles into Gale Hawthorne, who strikes up a conversation with her even despite the aura that radiated off of her, living was just going through the motions for her. But after meeting him, after he finds a way to see her again, something begins. He sneaks away from being with Katniss to hang with her. The only problem is that she doesn't trust as easily as he seems to trust her. He comforts her some nights when nightmares wake her and wake him with the screaming she does just next door. He visits her in the hospital when she's admitted for an injury. But just as she starts to see that he cares for her and she starts to realize she cares for him, he suddenly starts pulling away and Rose can't explain it.
#7 HoseÂ
Freshly crowned, blood still staining her hands, Rosalynn is forced into attending a Capitol party at President Snow's mansion in her honor where she is to dance and mingle with the Capitolites, where she is to be showed off even more to the worl.d And all she wants is to go home. To drown this party out, to get it over with, though she wishes somehow she could get revenge. And that's when Hunter Thicke, a previous Victor of Nine, catches her eye, having already planned out exactly what he wanted to say to her when they would meet. Because, unbeknownst to her at first, he's already decided, as leader of the rebelling Victors, that Rose is far too innocent seeming to not feel resentment and anger towards the Capitol. That he knows that she has to want revenge just as much as she does. And that night changes everything.
OLD/SAVED/INACTIVE PLOTS & GIFS
When Rosalynn wakes up in the hospital, she is alone. And without any recollection of anything, of her life, her family, anything. Amnesia, a result of a nasty blow to the head after a bomb had gone off during the Rebellion and sent her flying into a building. And beside her is Gale Hawthorne, broken and mending, claiming to be in more pain than her. At first, they argue. They’re bitter. But slowly, a friendship blossoms. Friendship blossoms into more with stolen kisses, passionate nights. Until finally, they escape the hospital that held them prisoner.
Months pass. And with those months, the two fall in love against all odds. They fight against her brother, Nate, who is determined to keep them apart, who continues to pull them apart and send Rose into a depression only Gale could heal. Rose threatens her life. She presses a cold blade to her wrist and stares Nate right in the eyes. And he still takes Gale away. But Gale comes to get her. He steals her away to the beach, where it finally happens. He proposes.
They head off to their new beach home, ready to celebrate with some champagne. But Gale remembers his past. He remembers the fighting, the war, the death, Katniss, and suddenly, one drink turns to two. To three. To nine. Until he makes himself an alcoholic. Rose hides away. She can’t bear to leave, no matter how much pain he forces her through. Especially the pain of hearing him say that he loves another woman. And that pushes her over the edge. Over the edge and towards a bottle of sleeping pills that ends up empty after she gets a hold of it.
Gale hears the break of silence from all of her crying and runs. He saves her just in time, but now’s a matter of what he did in his drunken state. He ruined their relationship. He stabbed a hole in a condom. He manipulated the situation into what he wanted. But Rose wouldn’t touch him.
Not for two months. After two months pass, something happens. The inevitable happens. Now is a matter of how they deal with it.Â
Rosalynn is the only one who believes in him, the only one willing to take a risk for him. And that man is Gale Hawthorne. After everyone in Panem pegs him as a murderer, Rosalynn visits him before leaving to return home to District 4. With a little bit of convincing Gale that she really is on his side, they set off together to District 4.
Then they suddenly start feeling more drawn to each other. Is it because they’re both so broken? Because they’re helping each other? Either way, returning to District 4 meant a whole new life for both of them, and Rosalynn is ready for the ride.
Months go by and still, Gale struggles with his identity and keeping to himself. A bar fight ensues, and finally, it’s the last straw for Rose. They go on a camping trip, alone, in the small woods in District 4 where they truly fall in love. With sharing their first times together, and something more that they don’t realize until they make the decision to build their dream home in the woods. Rose is pregnant. And with twins.
Almost eight months, Rose starts getting sick. Really sick. Nausea, dizziness, cold spells. And they can’t figure out what’s wrong, but they know it’s not a good sign for the babies. Not at all. And not even twenty-four hours in the hospital, she goes into labor. A month early and as weak as ever.
With Dominic Posen, a former District Four victor, as her mentor, Rosalynn makes it through the impossible and claims an unlikely Games victory. Heart heavy, weighed down by deep scars and dark demons, the two set off off her Victory Tour, where, drawn in by the desire to help, Dominic begins to spend each night with Rose, comforting her as the demons surfaced in nightmares. Soon, the nights bloom into a small romance, which leaks to the public. And with Dominic's dark secret, Snow was bound to force them apart. If their own demons didn't separate them first.
[Using alternate back story 1] Rosalynn is alone. Worried. Terrified. Practically an orphan after her parents and brother left for the imaginary District 13. So at night, she walks the perimeter of District 4 to clear her thoughts. Until she is met with three people she never expected to find. Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, and Gale Hawthorne. On the run. But it’s Gale who captures her attention most, who drives her insane with conflicting feeling. Does he hate her, or is it something he uses to hide his affection?
Katniss proposes that Rose joins them in their mission to the Capitol, and with some reluctance, she follows. And one night, camping out, unable to sleep like per usual, Gale and her share something. And he spills about a secret crush on her that he’s held and it’s like nothing Rose has ever felt before. Until the next morning when Katniss wakes and begins screaming at Gale, angry, seething, maybe even a little jealous. All that Rose takes out of it is jealousy. And her heart crumbles, her voice going silent. She goes mute. And no one can get her to speak.
