Mai Dear Tumblers

So here on Tumblr I like to show my less-professional side and throw ideas around.  Most of you guys already have noticed that I have some difficulties finishing long series >.<  I’m still doing Fran Bow but I’ve gotten a little sidetracked and to be honest the game took a pretty drastic turn that isn’t holding my interest as well. But I wanted to throw this idea out there.  I’ve received like 3 requests for “Let’s Read” narrations in the past two weeks so I actually recorded a reading of one of my favorite short stories.  I was going to record a discussion section on that video but now I’m not sure if I should or not.  I’ve been trying to narrow down a focus, or a slogan that my channel works off of.  I like to put thought, and encourage thought, in your gaming.  Don’t just be satisfied to scratch the surface.  Like a delicious meal, don’t just scarf and swallow.  Take your time and taste what you’re eating.  Appreciate all the hard work that was put into it.  Appreciate all the small, subtle details.  Things like “Game smarter” come to mind.    But it’s still too vague, too short, too presumptuous.  What do you think?  

There’s another game I’m already halfway through recording and I’m having second thoughts.  I tend to doubt myself alot.  I’ve been going back and forth between going through with it or not.  It’s something I feel very strongly about but I’m not sure how well a LP of it will be received.   

I tend to not get alot of direct feedback here on Tumblr but I’d like to change that because at some point I decided this is where I would release alot more personal details of my life and LP happenings, so feel free to reply to the post or send me a message.  Either would be great :)  All of you are awesome!

I love all of you here on Tumblr very dearly and feel very close to you all.  Over time I’ve received a lot of personal messages of support and encouragement that have meant a lot to me and I know all of you here following my Tumblr are here because you’re close fans :)  Because of that I thought I would have you get to know me more.

Why did I start a Youtube gaming channel:  Originally I started making youtube videos because I found myself creating my own weird/quirky commentary in my head while watching other Let’s Players.  Then I started making videos of games that I got frustrated with trying to find LPs of that were thoughtful, insightful, thorough, and methodical.  I wondered if there were others out there that were looking for that too.  I wanted to encourage intelligent and analytic gaming.

Current hobby in spare time:  Dragon Age Origins, The Sims 4, recording Fran Bow, lurking my fav gaming channels.

Favorite Youtubers:  NerdCubed, DarkChiron, Dilandau3000, Mangaminx (she plays games I have an interest in but frustrates me.  I get alot of my ideas for LPs from her channel when I see the first video but get irritated at her “speed runs” >.< I’m horrible)

Eye color:  grey-blue-green (I know it sounds weird)

Hair color:  strawberry blonde/copper

Age:  28 (omg that sounds so old)

Secret crush:  Uryuu Ishida [Bleach]

Current temperature in room:  about 65 and FREEZING!!

Pets (weakness):  3 cats.  Aura, a tortoise shell with gold eyes.  I rescued her abandoned by her mom in some brush and trees when her eyes and ears were still closed.  We have a very close bond.  Jeza (trivia: originally “Cheza” from Wolf’s Rain).  Siamese-tabby mix sky blue eyes.  Abandoned when some kids brought home a kitten the parents wouldn’t let them keep.  She became a stray on a dangerous large open neighborhood with dogs, horses, and coyotes.  When I first met her, she instantly burrowed into my sweater pocket and wouldn’t leave.  I always wanted a siamese.  Luna, long haired snow-white with amber eyes.  Adopted from local rescue.  As a kitten I used to smooch on her face alot, so now she reciprocates with painful sand-paper kisses on my face >.< I don’t have to heart to make her stop lol

Favorite Musicians:  Sia, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Pink, Taylor Swift

Guilty Pleasure:  Miley Cyrus, The Sims, dining out (mostly sushi)

Least Favorite Shows:   The Walking Dead, Dexter, Breaking Bad (Crucify me now T_T)

Favorite Literature/Reading:  The Inferno, Hamlet, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, The Myst Reader.

You’re Amazing

I’ve received an overwhelming amount of support from you guys regarding ASM.  Honestly, I was little surprised but also incredibly touched and thankful to have you all sending me messages of encouragement and understanding.  Because of your support and concern, I’ve decided to shelf Always, Sometimes Monster until I am mentally and emotionally ready to revisit it.  I truly believe I have the best fanbase on youtube, and you guys are amazing.

That being said, I will tell you Tumblr friends only that I have started work on a few different games already for after I finish Fran Bow (I have a short attention span >.<).   I wanted to give you close friends the opportunity to choose which one I commit to next, so please leave a comment below with your choice!

ASM. I need advice.

I’ll level with you guys, but only for you guys here on Tumblr.  I’m really afraid to go back to Always Sometimes Monsters.  

When I started the series and I was playing the storyline, I had a chip on my shoulder.  But I tried to be as optimistic as possible, I tried to be as positive as I could be.  And I managed it pretty well.  Not perfectly, but pretty well.  If you noticed, I tried to choose optimistic, romantic options of fighting for the one you love.  But on a few occasions you can tell I was indecisive.

But since then, even more things have occurred in my personal life and it makes playing that game extremely difficult.  It’s almost like playing it is a personal... insult?  I don’t know exactly how to explain it.  But it makes me angry and hurt at the same time.  I found myself in a very similar situation as Glory.  

If I did return to the game I feel like there would be a DRAMATIC change in how I approached it, and the decisions I made.  And I’m afraid that you viewers would be angry or disappointed that I didn’t end it with the same attitude I began it with.  I don’t know what to do guys.  I hate the idea of leaving it unfinished, but I don’t think I can emotionally play the game with the rose-colored glasses I had when I started.  Call it realistic, or jaded, but seeing happy fairy tale endings these days makes me very bitter.

Sorry for the lack of videos the last week.  I got to a point in the game where I just said, “what the fuck?” but not in a good way, in an annoyed way.  I was confused about what was happening and how it related to the rest of the game.  Of course leave it to me to miss the obvious item in my inventory the whole time that would have made everything make sense from the beginning >.<
