Mysterious Blue Roses

  “Is it really that bad to be voted for…? It’d be good for your reputation, unless you don’t like having attention on yourself…” He trailed off, figuring that was most likely the reason being that this male appeared to be a bit shy.

  “…That’s a bit disappointing… You know, other people are probably gonna take advantage of your offer, taking your food and voting for you anyway… I could just go around and tell people to vote for me instead of you! Isn’t that simpler?” Nice didn’t really care too much about the dance or anything involved in it, and he didn’t want to wait hours for food when it was just offered to him. That seemed a bit greedy, but he was starving. Plus, less people involved meant more for him and therefore more to save for a few days.

"Well, I'd rather try to work for a good reputation r-rather than have one just be handed out...probably silly, given a gardener wouldn't be THAT well known by the school, but that's just the way I am. Also, you're very right in saying I'm not used to the attention: I've grown up fairly solitary for most of my life, h-heh..."

A pause, there, as Garry listened to the other's point. "Oh! I...didn't think of it like that. You're correct in saying people could just say they'd not vote for me and do it anyway, but I just like to believe in the goodness of folk a bit too much, I'm afraid...one of my most problematic traits. A-are you sure you don't mind being voted for, though? I'd hate for you to be stuck with a title you didn't want for my sake..."

The rose-haired male looked a bit worried about that. Kindness from a student was wonderful, but...well...he didn't want students to be forced to do stuff they might not want, either!

Garry's still not sure what kind of party has no food or drinks available at all...but talking to that student who assured him he wasn't shy was interesting! He'll keep his greenhouse door open for any student who wants to visit, as he said.

Macarons and promises

Today had been a most hectic busy day - Garry hadn't quite expected one of the trees he'd trimmed this morning to have a hive of bees inside it. And then for said nest to fall when he snipped the leaves, and the insects chasing him until he managed to dive into the ocean waves to get away. Well, he'd have to be a bit more careful now, oops. Having gotten dried off much earlier, though he was certain his hair probably looked like seaweed, the gardener was inside the school halls.

Yes, he knew his job was outside the school, but he'd made a promise, to tie in with the valentine's day...er...voting. If people promised not to vote for him in the 'Valentine's queen' thing, he'd bake them macarons, and seeing as how fresh macarons always tasted the nicest, and he wanted to make good of his promise now - he wanted to use the cooking class's kitchens in here.

Hm...didn't look like those said kitchens were being used right now, thankfully, so he should be able to use the cookery quickly, right? Macarons didn't take too long to cook and prepare. He would have liked to ask whoever ran the kitchens first...but he had no idea who 'ran' the cooking class's kitchens in the first place, and he'd make sure to clean up when he was done!

Not to mention he'd had very little luck in finding whoever ran it, but thoughts aside, the rose-haired man set to work. It took a while, but eventually, the macarons were finished.

(After much pondering of what flavour to make beforehand, though.)

Mmm, they did smell wonderful now they were all made, but he'd have to leave the trays of macarons on the side of the bench while he...er...cleaned up the utinsels used and all. Only it seemed the smell of the baked goods had caught attention.

"O-oh, hello.  I didn't think someone would notice the food I finished baking so fast..."

  “Macarons!? Really? I won’t vote for you, I promise!” Not like he even planned on it, so this was practically a free deal on his end.

  “So… When!? How long does it take to make them? Is it quick?”

"O-of course! I'm a man of my promises, and if I promise macarons in exchange for people not voting for me, I'll happily deliver." Despite being a terribly timid person and shy with strangers, Garry's beaming at the progress here. Looks like he's gotten one nice student to agree not to vote for him already - hooray!

"Let's see, including prep time, not very long at all, really! I could probably get some organized in a few hours, actually - but how many people will I be cooking for, I have to wonder? I would like to make sure there's enough for everyone who wants some if I promise to cook them..."

Hums to himself thoughtfully here.

What's all this commotion in the halls about Valentine's voting? Student council voting? Wow, there just seems to be so much noise and activity right now. Wouldn't it be nice if they just sat down and enjoyed a cup of tea with fresh tea leav-

He doesn't even know half the students yet, g-golly!

"Uhm...if anyone needs roses and stuff for valentine's, or special flower crowns, please ask, but...j-just...uhm...promise you WON'T vote for me, okay? I'll bake you all macarons if you promise not to because I'm certainly not the most 'pretty' queen t-there!"

Yeah, that should hopefully be enough to convince others to put their precious votes elsewhere.

Hopefully being the key word.

Trimming introductions

[ Walking the path ahead of him, Ravio only really paid attention to the floor. This was something he had gotten used to, walking along a path, not know where he was going, and end up more than likely finding someone of interest to talk to. His hands behind of his back, he finally looked up from the floor and took large steps, nearly jumping with every step.]

[ He thought about being at the academy for the past few days, realizing that he had been having nightmares ever since coming there. Ravio thought he would’ve left those behind in Lorule, he would’ve thought he’d stop having constant nightmares of him failing as hero. Or dying, both were just as horrible. ]

[ Getting lost in his thoughts proved o be a problem, as he didn’t even notice that he was heading towards the garden. Amazing. Simply amazing. He didn’t notice it, at least- until he had heard the faint voice of someone calling out to him. Stopping in his steps, he glanced over his shoulder to see a guy that he…may, or may not have seen in the past nightmares he had ever since he arrived at the academy. ] 

”..Twigs?”

[ Ravio turned his attention back to the path ahead of him, and noticed just what he was about to run into. Taking a few steps back, a little chuckle left the merchant’s lips and he nodded to the male. ] 

"Oh, right! Sorry about that, didn’t notice how close I was to it!" 

[ How in the world did he not notice him, though? ]

The stranger who very nearly walked into the pile of twigs - or risked having leaves and said twigs fall on top of him while he was pruning - was evidently wearing a cowl or hood of some kind, so perhaps the worry that this particular student would risk getting stuff in his hair was an unneeded one, indeed. Still, he would most certainly have walked into the pile of twigs that had already fallen to the ground if he had not halted, so probably good that he'd called to the young sir. Ruffling his petal-like hair in relief that his soft tone had actually been overheard, there, Garry couldn't help think.

This student seemed familiar, very much so.It reminded him of another nightmare he'd had a while back, vaguely, of someone with a rabbit hood identical to this one, holding a sword, and he, Garry, closing his eyes with a sad smile. Weird. What were the odds of someone looking and sounding exactly like a dream, he wondered? Did that mean he could meet folk from the latest nightmare, too?

Thoughts aside, Garry waved a gloved hand in quiet dismissal.

"Oh, that's quite alright. You were kind of preoccupied with something, or at least you seemed to be, so it makes sense you wouldn't see the daily tree trimmings going on..."

Pausing, a soft giggle escaped Garry at his next musing aloud:

"Kind of silly of me to be worried about getting twigs in your hair when that's clearly impossible, though. Hehheh....ah. Anyway, I'm the school gardener. I just started work here today, so I guess I was so excited about starting I didn't think to put up signs of me working here, either. So that's kind of my fault. Sorry!"

Even if the student objected, that was the truth - if the student got twigs and leaves in his robes, he should have really warned them first!

"By the way, my name's Garry. It's lovely to meet you."

Okay, if this male remembered the nightmares, then, he already knew his name, but...Garry just wanted to set it straight that those were just bad dreams, it was the greeting and actions here and now that counted!

So it was that Garry held out a gloved hand to the other if the student should choose to shake it.

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?

"..."

There's a very long pause, there.

"I like f-flowers..."

However, it's obvious he was a bit too shy to give the real answer to that, though flowers do make him happy. So what does make him happiest in a bad mood?

Who knows with this rose-hair.

Trimming introductions

Trying to shake off the nightmare as best he could, the rose-haired man decides that the best thing to do after a bad dream is to do something he enjoys. After all, the good in life can overcome bad easily enough if you just focus on it rather than the negatives! At least that's what he'd like to think, and so, rummaging around, Garry pulls on a pair of thick gloves and grabs some gardener's shears which were kindly provided to him in his room.

Carefully heading outside, given he was basically carrying over-sized scissors around, a quick survey didn't take all that long to spot a few trees that needed a bit of a trim here and there. Ah - working amongst nature always made him feel happier, even if it was hard work. Despite having to wipe down his forehead on occasion as he got to work, leaves, twigs and such falling down with every snip of  the shears - the constant clipping was calming.

Honest hard work, too, even if he wished he'd brought a drink with him at the moment. 

"Phew...it certainly is hot out here."

Kind of like a tropical island. Maybe he should get a sunhat with his allowance eventually. At least he didn't need a ladder, given how tall he was. Snip snip. Snip sni- hey, was that someone walking this way? Oh no, they'd get leaves and stuff in their hair if they kept walking without looking, and so the clipping stopped.

"H-hey....stop for just a moment, please! You'll get twigs in your hair if you walk this way..."

He didn't mind giving students flower crowns, but he didn't think they'd appreciate...twigs in their hair as much, no.

...He's still trying to wrap his head around suddenly being transported to the school he applied as a gardener for mere moments, seemingly, after applying, and that nightmare he had isn't helping matters.

Ugh...but...at least he managed to give flowers in respect before being killed, and give out a lot of flower crowns. Those who first accepted his flower crowns in the nightmare stayed safe until the end, too, and that's nice...

But he'd probably going to be feeling the phantom pain in the nightmare of a blade to his throat for some time.
