ââSaro, Iâm back!â Agashaâs voice was a mix of elation and exhaustion as she pushed through the door into the familiar, flowery scents of her little shop. For a moment, she looked tired and almost sad, but it was wiped away and replaced with a smile quickly.
âPefkoâs so stubborn, you know. But heâs doing better now! Sorry I was away for longer than I said I would be,â Agasha said, setting her things down by the door. âI wanted to make sure not to leave until I knew he was in a stable condition again. He has some amazing new powers to show for it, I guess, but still, heâsâŚâ
She stopped short. Suddenly, she took in more of her surroundings âshe was sure Pefko would rather report into Saro on his own anyway, and right nowâŚ
âUm, Saro. Somethings smells dead....?â
đ
â
ââAh, be careful! Careful! D-donât fall!â She couldnât help but be anxious. It looked like the ladder was shaking and moving around under him. Cultivating and growing the plants and the crops for the village had been a good idea, Agasha would say that much, but harvesting some of the fruits of her labor was always difficult.Â
Saro had offered to help, but it didnât make her much less worried.
âThe ones closer to the top should be the best quality. Careful of ones that have bugs in them. Andâ careful!â

â
Healersâ Island was like an entirely separate world sometimes. Agasha looks curiously at the plants that Pefko had roped her into helping him harvest. She recognized them by their flowers, but she had to admit, she was somewhat less knowledgeable about their values after they left the flowering stage.
âThis oneâs full,â Agasha said, setting down the basket of fruit with a grunt.Â
She wiped some sweat off her face. She wasnât the strongest. âAre these for food or medicine or something else, Pefko?â By something else, she was clearly asking if this was for developing more strains of poisons. âIâve never tried eating them before.â
Happy Birthday, Agatha! (From Amy)
â
âOh! Um, thank you.â
"I heard today was your birthday, Happy Birthday!" Regulus gave Agasha a book filled with beautiful pictures of flowers and plants and information about the rarer plants.
â
âThank you. This is very sweet.â Agasha had been learning an encyclopedic knowledge of flowers since she was a child, and even more since she had apprenticed under Pefko. She leafed through the book curiously.
âThis will really help me when Iâm recommending plants to my customers. Theyâll appreciate having something easier to get answers from than I am. Thank you, Regulus. And there are even some practical uses for the species in here that I havenât considered yet. Iâll bring them up to Pefko next time.â
berserk is the source of all my sadnessÂ
celestialbrokenstarâ:
âThey are so pretty!â Chris replied. Indeed the bouquet was really marvelous to look at and, even she wasnât going to use it for a wedding, surely it was a good way to repay the kindness that Agasha had shown to her.Â
âWhat is your favorite flower?â
â
Agasha blushed and fidgeted slightly. âItâs a little cliche... Or rather, itâs probably the most cliche answer I can give. But my favorite flowers are red roses.â
âI just think theyâre so beautiful and strong and...! They just, they make me feel safe. Itâd be nice to be the type of person who goes well with such an elegant, famous flower, donât you think...?â she added timidly.

hakureisstudentâ:
ââŚNoâŚâ Atlaâs voice was quiet and even, even though his cheeks were still reddened.
âI am not mad. I am no sick. It was not too far. You were not too close.â He tried to answer all of her important questions as well as he could. This was not his area of expertise.
âYou have no reason to apologize.â
He noticed her step away. Instead of taking a step closer to her, he took her hand and kissed her palm, as he was too short to try to casually kiss her forehead.
âI am happy. You are⌠very sweet, Aagasha⌠I was surprised. But I was happy. That is why I did not know how to respond immediately.â
â
Agasha blinked in surprise, but stopped pulling her hand away. âNot mad or anything? Then youâre...â Oh. He was blushing? This was her first time seeing him do something like blushing.
Sometimes, she was reminded that Atla was still a child like her, soldier or not.
âAtla, you really are sweet. Sweet, smart, strong, and so...â She smiled. He still spoke a pretty blankly, but that just made it even clearer how much he was trying and how much he was putting into saying that. She wondered how much emotion was behind those simple words.Â
âAtla, youâre so cute! Iâm going to ask this time, just in case, since I know youâre still getting used to being friends with me. Would you mind if I gave you a hug?â She opened up her arms.
â|| Meet Cute
livewithstrengthâ:
âOhâ yeah, I need to get to training!â Saro nodded, throwing this whole body into it and then turning around and starting into a run. He waved at her without looking back.
âSure, Iâll see around, Agasha! Good luck with your flowers! Hope Pope Sage likes them!â
â
She hugged the bouquet to her chest gently and smiled while she watched him run off. âHeâs faster than a horse...â she noted to herself, giggling and turning around to finally finish her delivery to the pope. She nodded.
âYeah, I hope we do get to meet again. See you around, Saro.â
â || Peaceful Afternoon
hakureisstudentâ:
âFacts can be⌠sweet,â he tried. âWhen the truth itself is sweet, the facts would have to be. The truth of you tends to be sweet, from the time I have spent with you. It tends to be warmâŚâ
He was definitely warm from that smile of hers. His ears in particular were warm. He was grateful they were hidden under his hair.
âIn other places, the truth is not so kind. The truth of the world has often not been particularly kind to me. Powerful things are scary to some peopleâŚâ
â
âPowerful things are scary...? You mean they...â Agasha couldnât really claim to understand the ins and outs of things like that. She couldnât imagine what he was hinting at, but... She still felt viscerally angry at the thought of people forcing Atla to be isolated the same way Albafica had to be.
âIf I could see those people who were mean to you just because they were scared, I would give them a piece of my mind! How dare they! Youâre one of the greatest people I know, and they wouldnât even know that, because theyâre just...! Awful! The same kind of people who made Sir Albafica feel lonely, like he couldnât afford to reach out to anybody!â
â|| Kiss on the Cheek
livewithstrengthâ:
âOw, ow, owâŚâ he winced while she cleaned his wounds. âHard to believe Iâm very brave when even stuff like this makes me wince, though,â he muttered to himself.
Saro tried to stay still aside from that. He cracked a smile and was going to nod, but since he was told to be still, he vocalized it instead. âYeah. Thanks.â
âMaybe I can tell Celintha about the brave parts and just not mention that I got hurt?â he suggested hopefully.
â
âI hope youâre not asking me to lie to Celintha for you. Thatâs a skill I donât really have.â
Agasha shook her head in mock disapproval while she kept working on the bandages. Thank goodness for Pefko, he was teaching her how to be so much better at this.
âBut youâre training to be a saint with her. Sheâll be happier with your bravery than she will be angry with your injuries. ...I think. I donât really understand the saint thing you guys think. Itâs like a completely different world sometimes, you know.â
goldsaintleoregulusâ:
Regulus tilted his head, confused by what Agasha meant. âWhat do you mean? I am sure you are a gold person too even if you were a civilian. Everyone is glad that the war has ended. Even though many lives were lost, Hades is defeated and nobody have to worry about him for a long time. Times are peaceful now and everyone can focus on healing.â
Regulus shook his head and smiled reassuringly. âNo, donât worry about it. You help me already by giving some seeds for free and telling me how to grow Gorse flowers. By the way, you would know how to do pretty flower arrangements, right? Maybe sometime in the future, I will come by and ask for one.â
â
âSure, Iâm a good person. Iâm just not a saint. Never have been and never will be. So there are a lot of things Iâll just never see the same way you guys do. Even things like peace and healing. I learned how different you guys see everything already, though.â
Agasha had sorted that out already.
âFlower arrangement is practically my middle name. If you ever need a floral arrangement, you know where to come! I can make them for all sorts of occasions, and I can even do some landscaping, and... Ah,â she cleared her throat. âIâll talk all day about plants if you let me. I get lost in thought about it sometimes. Iâm sure your Gorse flowers will turn out beautifully, Regulus.â
livewithstrengthâ:
Saro stared at her curiously. She was so surprised that it seemed like he said something terribly wrong. âUm, Iâm⌠sorâŚ?â
He blinked back at her. Once, twice, three times. âYouâre happy? Your happy face is a little weird sometimes. But I sorta just said what you seem like. Itâs good that you try and grow flowers while youâre sunshine.â
â
âIâm very happy! Itâs... so sweet, I might explode!âÂ
Agasha giggled. Had it seemed for even a second that she was anything less than thrilled with a compliment like that? Especially when it was given so easily that it couldnât possibly be simple flattery. "Like...! Okay, imagine the thing that gives strength and life to the things that you treasure a lot. Imagine being told that you exude that same kind of energy. Do you know what I mean, Saro?â

livewithstrengthâ:
He slowed down to match her pace. She lost her breath faster than he did, but that made sense. The training to run a flower shop was probably way different than the training for being a saint. âUnforgettable?â
He wondered if he would look as out of place planting a seed.
âYouâll remember me? Even after IâŚâ
â
â--Even after you become a famous saint, yes!â Agasha cut in, speaking quickly even though she was trying to keep her breathing even while she did this exercise with him.
She knew exactly where he was going with that, and it wasnât a road she wanted to travel for this conversation. âSo I hope when you become a famous hero, saving lives and using amazing powers out there, you still remember me, too.âÂ
