001/__: Of Rosaline Herself
Ā Ā Ā Thereās really not much to say, unless you want me to start from the beginning.
If so, oh deary, youāre in for a treat.
Ā Ā Ā Ā My father was the oldest of 8 siblings, he married young, and his wife died during childbirth along with his baby. What about me? You may ask. Well, I wasnāt his wifeās baby, no. I was the product of a rather lame relationship from which my mother escaped as soon as I was born.
Ā Ā Ā As for my father, well, he sorta⦠I donāt know how to put this but uh, his youngest sister found him dead in his home. He didnāt slip and hit his head though, he put himself out of his misery and me? The unnamed, unbaptised baby that was crying upstairs with no consolation whatsoever, went straight to live with my aunt, the one who found my fatherās body.
Ā Ā Ā Worse thing that couldāve happened.
Ā Ā Ā Donāt get me wrong. My aunt is an amazing woman, with a hell of an amazing gift to write but, just like my father, sheās bitter over a love that couldnāt be despite how much she tried. Growing up listening to her crying, knowing there wasnāt much I could do to make things better wasnāt my favourite thing to do, but she wasnāt always sad. Some days sheād wake me up with The Beatles, and sheād cook pastries for us both, and weād spend the day playing or going through my pre-Hogwarts education. Those days were alright, I think.
Ā Ā Ā On the days when she couldnāt drag herself out of bed, Iād go with my grandparents; lovely people. They taught me all of the crap I know about the lamest family to ever exist. I donāt believe much in any of their family lore, and they say itās because I do not carry their name. See, I carry my motherās, since my father asked in his will that I was not given his name. My aunt says itās because he loved me enough not to curse me like that but come on⦠the man didnāt even bother to give me a name before he passed. My aunt chose Rosalne for me. Thought it was sweet. I donāt think finding out Iām far too vulgar for my size did her any good, but at least I manage to make her laugh.
Ā Ā Ā I think the hardest time was when I turned eleven, and we all knew Iād be coming to Hogwarts. Dad was the auntās favourite brother, and knowing she couldnāt be here to protect me from anyone that tried to hurt me in the same way she was hurt, well⦠it affected her a lot. The rest of the family had to tag along that september, 1st, fearing that sheād throw herself to the tracks running behind me. I donāt think Iāve ever cared about anyone the way I care about her feelings. Seeing her so tired and devastated made me feel miserable, but there wasnāt much of an option. School was right ahead of me, and Iād see her during the holidays, right? It never got better, we were always a teary mess whenever I had to go. Pathetic.
Ā Ā Ā I was sorted into Ravenclaw. Iām the second family member to ever be sorted in said house, right after my aunt. The rest were either Hufflepuffs or Gryffindors, but oh well⦠here we were. I canāt say I was very interested in Academics though, I think I was sorted into Ravenclaw merely because I think with my head instead of my gut or my heart but who knows, really? All I was ever really outstanding at, and still am is boy chasing and even there, Iām lacking.
Ā Ā Ā I love men. I love men so much Iām pretty sure Iām never going to be able to settle for one. I love me so, so much I donāt let heartbreak interfere with the chase. Iām a little indifferent, but I have been heartbroken once or twice, nothing the Aunt needs to know about. If she knows Iām sure Iāll never hear the end of it. Long story short: I should only let myself fall in love for someone whoās willing to take the fall for me as much as I would for him.
Ā Ā Ā This family and its laws are frankly ridiculous.
Ā Ā Ā I do wish to have a steady relationship at some point, but uh, I suppose Iām not really attractive to the boys in here. Thatās fine, I suppose.
Ā Ā Ā I wouldnāt complain about feeling a little less like a used rag at times, though.
Ā Ā Ā Anything else youād like to know, feel free to ask right away.
