#YOBIBT

Ok so im sure alot of you are wondering what #YOBIBT stands for.. i have an answer for you but its a little more complicated than just an acronym.. #YOBIBT stands for “YO!!! BRING IT BACK!!! TOUR” and that stands for “Bring the ELEMENTS BACK TO HIPHOP” as the genre has been raped and pillaged only to be left for dead by it origional Stuarts. What started as beautiful urban expression had basically turned into the degeneration of many generations and #YOBIBT set out to restore HipHop to its original form! It also LOSELY stands for “YO!!! BRING BACK HIPHOP AND SKATE RAMPS TO WARPED TOUR” BUT IT MEANS SO MUCH MORE TO ME… my first lesson in MAGNETICS happened One night at home i was just chillin and got a call from my bro Brion Johnson currently in Portland about this bring it back tour and his buddy Fritzo who was coordinating a tour within the famous warped tour. He was telling me about it and wanted me to get involved but schedules are hectic especially in the music industry so we failed to connect the dots in time. 2 weeks later another lesson in MAGNETICS came as i received a call from Shane @ the LIE SHOW about the same tour. Brion and Shane have never met. Shane had a whole squad scheduled to participate in the tour but at the last minute a few of his key Hitters had to pull out. This call was about me filling their spot and leaving by the morning. With a wife and 3 sons that ive never been away from for more than a day, the decision wasnt easy to make but my choice was clear.. My wildest dreams were on my front door step and i wasnt about to let them move onto the next guy cuz its not everyday that dreams of this magnitude are realized. Its surreal cuz Ive fantasized about going on a tour and always knew i would need to get out of my city to be seen/heard, and as the bus pulled out onto the road, it still hadnt hit me and i had no idea what was about to take place for the next 2 months.. I got to meet the Infamous Fritzo and when i told him about Brion in portland in conjunction with Shane in SD, he and i agreed that our meeting was MAGNETICALLY meant to be. These instances where he and i had nation wide mutual friends would happen about 3 or more times across the summer re-affirming that we were right where we were supposed to be… To Brion and Shane and Fritzo i am forever greatful! You 3 have changed my life for the better in more than i can ever tell you. And with that said, the tour was underway! Warped Tour MAGNETICALLY packs an average of 10,000 kids into every city it touches, and essentially our goal was to incorporate positive minded conscience hiphop from within our collective network to feature in every city the tour stoped in to deliver the most impactful show possible to all that would discover us within Warped . I got to meet and play with the top talent in every major city in the country as local #YOBIBT REPS their job was to bring the noise and hold it down for their city on WT using positivity and the core principle of WE>me… simply put- That means putting the greater good above your own personal wants and needs. Every morning we drove our own busses and vans and cars to the site where the larger acts had drivers. We set up our own stage where the bigger acts had stage crews. Afterwards we broke our stage down and loaded it into trucks for the next day before we all got together for a production bbq, only bands players staff , drivers and representatives and apecial guests allowed. GOOD TIMES! We gave an early start to every day after setting up our stage, by playing live for the kids as they waited in line to enter! We sold eachothers merch and supported every act that touched our stage. We didnt go take smoke breaks or blame the kids for having to leave early, we stayed, showed support and made connections with a rare group of special people who just GET IT, putting the group before the individual every second of everyday. At home ive been supported by genuine love from real friends and fans i now consider family but largely ive felt alone for a long time because there wasnt anyone in san diego that did what i do musically or anything even close for that matter. Never met 1 person at home or even seen on youtube someone doing #AcousticHipHop justice until i joined the #YOBIBT. Within our tour there was a total of 3 acoustic hiphop acts all touring together with Authentic musical points of view. This let me know once again that i was right where i was supposed to be. It was my privilege to be a part of this group but i was about 10 years older than everybody i came across, quickly noticed how out of shape i was, but wasnt going to let that stop me from doing what id always dreampt of doing- What i was born to do. .. Play Kick Ass Music across the country to real fans in mass! All i did was fill in for someone who couldnt make it and found myself amongst Like minded individuals, Critical thinking revolutionary minded people with a worldly view on whats wrong with the world today , ALL who decided that MUSIC was the best way to reach the future and help shape it to be something better. LITERALLY LIVING THE DREAM! We all knew that Tomorrow would be grim if we didnt try and make change for today and i took refuge being with such a stellar group of people who maintained a similar mind set, for many of them - beyond their years.

The tour started with 3 dates in Texas and everyday was HOT just like the first. We were required to drink and un-natural amount of water which was supplied to us in abundance and we were very greatful for it. The water literally saved our lives as we stood and suported our own in the sun day in and day out! Once we hit Vegas, we ran into Brandon Pure-Powers who i met at a Bille Knight Artist Search in SD b4 the tour and who was to join the YOBIBT for a few dates as well! Fritzo and i approached him and he was dumbfounded as he turned to Fritz and told him “Bro! This is the guys i was telling you about in San Diego who kills it!” Fritz and i looked at each other and recognized yet another lesson in MAGNETICS lol. Right on the money.

Warped Tour afforded our stage a few seats on the big busses and passes to participate in the daily catering spread, but not enough to supply every member with a badge and a cot, however that didnt stop the senior members from taking care of the rest of us.. Everyday they showed up to the stage at lunch time with extra plates to share and sustain the rest of us and I for one owe them a debt of gratitude.. as the daily operations continued i noticed weigh falling off me like crazy and i acredited that my daily rations of hard work, water consumption and healthy food. Mostly salad. I asked them to just bring a salad for me everyday and they gladly did. Within no time at all i lost shit load of weight and lost all my tan lines lol. After the first leg of the tour was done, i stepped off to fullfill an obligation to play at the House Of Blues in San Diego for the Wounded Warrior Project and also got some much needed time with my wife and 3 sons. The plan was to fly in and rejoin the tour but those plans fell through due to bus troubles and i was forced to re-evaluate my return to tour. I asked my friends and family to donate money to get the bus back on the road and they did without hesitation! I CANNOT THANK YOU ALL ENOUGH! It worked and paved the way as we set out on a drive this time from san diego to Boston to rejoin! From there we finished the tour all the way to Denver, and when Fritzo mentioned that there were no YOBIBT REPS in Denver to come and play with us, i mentioned my long time friend Reason The Citizen who i went to HS with that recently moved to Denver from Oside and has since experienced overwhellming success and Fritzo replied ” Yo know that guy? Ive been trying to get him involved for a while now” lol yet another Lesson in MAGNETICS LOL There were many adventures along the way, lots of growth, personally, spirituatlly and musically but mostly in my understanding of MAGNETICS.

#YOBIBT, to me represents Magnetics.. ITS PROOF that following your passsion will eventually lead you to your tribe where proximaty doesnt matter and ideas with actions change the world. Before #YOBIBT came into my life i was out of shape, doing 1 or more shows a week in San Diego as the ONLY person willing to tackle ACOUSTICHIPHOP , wandering aimlessly, day dreaming about how to get my music out of my city and in front of the world with a loyal support foundation of loved ones, friends family and genuine fans. I thought i was a good musician, father, and husband and wa convinced i was giving it my all! I returned from the experience a NATION WIDE TOURING ARTIST, with a global mindset, got into great shape, realized there was alot more i could do to be better and further reach my potential with my Family as a Father and Husband as well as Spiritual Modern Man and Musician! I realized that i wasnt alone, and that success doesnt always cost money but always requires faith in yourself and your dreams. I learned more about myself than i can ever put into words here but one thing i can say is that i am forever greatful for #YOBIBT and am a better man today because of my involvment!

MUSICALLY i was well recieved across the country and because of that responce, a few of the YOBIBT reps and myself are assembling NATION WIDE Street Teams to incorporate on independant tours that will take place in the near future! Essentially turning this chance of a lifetime into a tangible road to success of living an impossible dream! I did SO WELL in fact that at the end of the tour on the last day i was named the official #YOBIBT SAN DIEGO REPRESENTATIVE essentially concluding my summertime lessons in MAGNETICS as i look forward to bringin this mindset to my Area of the country, Southern California. the details have yet to be ironed out and everyday, everything changes, but there is alot.in store from this movement rest assured!

#YOBRINGITBACKTOUR2014 WAS A SUCCESS THANKS TO YOU! WE>me Conscious music to elevate humanity 1 generation at a time. Ita bigger than our pety differences. Its bigger than we can imagine. Its how humans battle their imperfections to get closer to our full potential. Its being mindful of our intensions and its void of competition while rich in community. Its a microcosm of how the world is changing for the better. Its giving grace to people considering the adversity they overcame to make it here today and its having compassion for people youve never even met. Its more than bringing back the elements of hiphop, its shedding light on a global responsibility we all have to our kids to teach them that theres a better way. YOBIBT is what happens when you remove mainstream media from your life and allow true potential to flourish I could go on. Basically this summer changed EVERYTHING in my life for the better and ultimatley I owe it all to #YOBIBT. My gratitude know no end

It seems pretty simple, but it can't be simple because of how many people don't get it. Do you does not imply that you should masterbate or #stabbyourself, it simply means that you should identify your passion and put all your energy into making that dream come true. YOU NEVER WORK A DAY IN YOUR LIFE IF YOU LOVE WHAT YOU DO... it has to start somewhere though and I believe the core of this principle lies within knowing who you are and what you stand for. They say that if you stand for nothing then you will fall for anything and that's true.. you have to know where you stand on moral issues so you know that answer before the problem becomes a problem so to speak. There's a lot of blasphemy going on around me and there's also a lot of following poor leadership.. A free thinker that knows the meaning of DO YOU doesn't follow but knows value when it's revealed and doesn't need a crowd to tell them what brand is doing the most you know? IT'S SAD TO SEE HOW FAR GONE ALOT OF SOCIETY IS ACTUALLY... BLINDED by the hunt for $$$ and forgotten about who we are and why we came here in the first place... but to summ up what DOYOU means, I'd suggest following these simple guidlines: 1. Find an activity that makes you happy and run wild with it. Nourish, develope and hone your craft.. 2. Surround yourself with positive people and allow your productivity to skyrocket.. 3. Don't ever give up if you love what you are doing. Never ever give... up... period... Copycats taking true inspiration and stealing wind from beneath the wings of yesterday's heros is not the bizz ya dig? Also make sure that when you "DOYOU" you aren't disrespecting anyone in doing so. Your dream pursuit should NOT be designed to take from anyone or thing, & should be in alignment with your passion. If you are "doing you" and are taking or poaching from someone else's family or ideas, then don't be surprised when they fuck you up after they catch you slippin.. doing you must be done in conjunction with mutual respect. Without respect, bodies fall from the sky and you bring that upon yourself when you try and take another man's bread and butter. DO YOU MEANS DO YOU. NOT DO HIM OR HER.. Find out what it is in this life truly makes you happy, and if the thing that makes you #happy is the life of another person, then you are missing the point completely. . Your life means more to this world than the TV will tell you. #Value your life and make a positive impact! It's never too late to #DOYOU! Starts with #gratitude, runs on #consistency and ends with #abundance if you do it right. If you do it wrong , then it ends up with you in a ditch face down with lungs full of dirt. So by all means do you but don't forget to (next up) #watchyoass

#ACOUSTICHIPHOP

Sometimes music and expression is all we have to get us through a super tough time in our lives. For me, it started as an obsession with basslines and how they bumped in my sub woofers as I drove by the beach in oside and has evolved into a literal addiction to performing music live. I honestly cannot get enough! I’m mean I could go without having to travel, especially driving, plus there’s lots of little shit that can get in the way of a good concert but when it’s show time, I’m at home no matter what’s going on around me. To tell the story of how my brand of music was created I must start at the beggining and fast track u through. I got a guitar at the age of 12 and played seldom to myself and with a few friends around camp fires on occassion. Then at the age of 19 I got my hands on a beat making program and started to implement my guitar into the beats. Got really into production and started a HIPHOP crew with some friends called the #FadedChronicleZ and had a blast on beats doing live hiphop shows throughout San diego until 2006! By 2007 We developed into a live band and eventually took our music up and down the California coastline as well as AZ, and celebrated moderate success in the region! By 2009 our run was up with how difficult it was to coordinate the schedules of grown men in such large numbers, and the world hasn’t heard from the faded Chroniclez again… but essentially the band was an adaptation of hiphop songs we originally intended for beats and instead of playing them with the band, I basically just decided that I’d still do the show solo acoustic and that’s when #ACOUSTICHIPHOP was born. I basically wrote hiphop songs I transposed to the guitar and then removed the band element and what was left was what I currently bring you today… it was a very natural progression, I didn’t chose acoustic hiphop, it chose me… and seeing how people react to it here at home and around the country let’s me know that it’s nothing short of destiny that I suddenly found myself on warped tour off a shoestring ready to musically slap everybody silly summer 2014… it fed my addiction to playing shows live, and helped turn that addiction into a brand new monster for me to recon with. I was never satisfied to begin with but now it’s really tough to feed the hunger after feeding my soul such hardy meals full of new people and fans daily on the road. Acoustic hiphop doesn’t begin or end with me but largely it’s a brand I’ve helped pioneer and I felt it nessessary to represent it across the country for as long as i could at any cost to me an my family, meaning I was determined to finish the tour with or without the money to do it regardless the consequences; I simply could not walk away. Acoustic hiphop is like a child of mine that is about ready to graduate college, I’m dedicated to its success and am willing to go to any length to ensure its proper representation and longevity… largely the world hasn’t seen acoustic hiphop before but was recieved with overwhelming Love and Genuine support which naturally warmed my heart to the core.. After experiencing the highest of highs this summer celebrating acoustic hiphop across the USA, I came home to a stacked resume and a clean slate as i plot my musical attack on this land for 2015! Stay tuned because there is soo much more to come. #SALUTE

You've seen the hashtag, and you don't really know what it means. Well let me explain this to you in detail. Hiphop culture is timeless however it's made to seem like it's only for super young people in fact the media would have us all believe, the younger the better. With age comes wisdom and people who are wise are difficult to control and most always pose a threat to conventional thought. With that being said, I wake up to find myself surrounded by today's impressionable youth and I notice 1 huge difference between me and all these young people. I watched the birth of the INTERNET and YOU were born into it. The world was very interactive before the Internet came into existance. It was a real place with actual eye contact and conflict resolution, now it's become a virtual world that seems more "real" than actual reality. People are allowed to be who they want to be without the grind, taking no accountability or having any respect for the hard work it actually takes to become such a refined individual as so many claim to be. It's an unregulated world where anything goes and the government is strapped in, trying to keep up & find more and more ways to use it to keep tabs on the people. Like zoo animals who prefer their cage and food rations rather than actual freedom of the wild, we subscribe freely. The boundaries and rules set for our "leaders" to follow have become political toilet paper and our rights as citizens are slavery compared to our rights as human beings and nobody seems to notice this. We are being poisoned from the sky, surveillance by drone, forced into economic slavery in order to eat and our children are being brainwashed at school and over sexualized in the media. How much younger and inaropriate can it possibly get? When does this become too much for even the most immoral of souls? Diapers and dildos? Cuz that's what's next. Right before the whole shit crashes there will be diapers and dildos in the same frame because I fear that's what it will take for everyone to pump their breaks and by then it's too late. We drive down the street and the police are looking for few things. People who look like nobody will miss them if they were tossed in the jail/slave trade, and people who look like they follow the rules cuz they have the money and can always work to pay their "fines".. cash rules as people across the globe starve and go without water, we are over here dumping the shit on our heads and laughing our asses off cuz we are so distracted from reality. But digitally everything is cool, we are in alignment with the trends and are on top of popular culture. Right? The truth is that Your popular culture is the degredation of everything your ancestors fought for. The ones who drive your "culture" through today's music are the equivalent of house n!@@az of yesteryear, allowed to sleep inside and eat the fine catering in exchange for making slavery look good to the rest of the stock. Nice outfits and good posture is all we need to see in order to subscribe I guess. It started as a joke but it's actually become very serious. So what is the #NEWWILDWEST you ask? It's modern day babylon. Our ancestors could never have imagined the treacherous landscape we are set to navigate to find the better life they always dreamed of for us. The stakes have never been higher domestically and spiritually while 90 percent of the population isn't up for the challenge of leading by moral example. Let's not forget having to disguise morality because if they find out you are a critical thinking spiritual revolutionary then you become public enemy # 1 and all your skeletons from your private inbox magically becomes public knowledge and things everyone is guilty of are now the reasons you are no longer to be taken seriously. Back to your regularly scheduled program of diapers and dildos I guess.. onto the next scandal to divert your attention from the fact that those that claim to lead us richeously are leading us into slow, cruel death by famine, drought, and federally mandated deprevation. I don't give 1 single solitary fuck if you agree or dissagree because regardless , sooner or later you will have to make make a choice. Slave or free. Conformist or Trailblazer. Most of us are still 1 foot In and 1 foot out. #NEWWILDWEST is way crazier than the #WILDWEST we read about.. its a place where the town sherrif can shoot and kill your children then throw you in jail on a hunch before publicly demonizing your families last name through a false online campaign of propeganda. The technology has transformed the race for supremacy and dominance into a battle field many don't even know they are battling on. This is not a joke. This is the lives of your grandchildrens grandchildren I'm talking about. If we do not wake up, all of humanity is fucking doomed and that will be on our shoulders. #NEWWILDWEST is NOT the west side of your town. It's every square inch of the planet where it's accepted that children die of starvation and thirst, while the grocery stores discard tons of fresh food on a daily basis. This crisis of culture must take a 180 degree turn. Like yesterday. For obvious reasons. Take a good look in the mirror and instead of demanding perfection and picking yourself apart for never achievingnit, ask yourself if you are a part of the problem or a part of the solution. When I was going through high school, I rarely ever touched my guitar because I was a double athlete and competed in speech & debate aka HS Forensics. Oside has always been talent-heavy so it wasn't even impressive that I had 2 partial scholarships for baseball and football out of OHS. Neither of which I took. I selfishly chose to hang out in town, get super stoned and pretend to go to junior college having a great time hanging with my friends and doing concerts on the weekends. At the time I didn't give it a lot of forethought but had I attended any of my scholarships I would've been stuck as a D3 catcher or defensive lineman, for 4 years somewhere NOT in cali and wouldn't have shared the last year of 1 of my best friends life, been able to record my first cd with Faded Chroniclez, wouldnt have started the band and as a result wouldn't be playing for you today as an #ACOUSTICHIPHOP Pioneer on the forefront of a new genre. Wouldn't have been around to reconnect with my wife and as a result wouldn't have my 3 perfect boys to share with her. Wouldn't have started my dump truck bizz which sustains my family and wouldn't be sitting here writing this blurt for you to enjoy. I always tell kids to stay in school but the truth is if I would've stayed in school , I'd still be in major debt to student loans and wouldn't be the man I am today. My choice to not do school was actually the best choice I'd ever made for myself. I don't even like public school, bullying is at an all time high, it's like the bullies of today were raised by the bullies of my time which makes these kids super bullies, aka terrorist spawns of the devil. The curriculum is a joke, was when I was there and it's worse now. The best thing about school in my opinion is learning the skill of dealing with people of all walks of life. Not the debt. Not the brain washing, and not the prime years spent. Be a student to your own game. Seek knowledge independent of a school weather you go to college or not. This is the age of information, Who needs a middle man anymore anyways? I'm just saying what we are told is right isn't always right for everyone. I more encourage you to be yourself. Decide what's right for you! I swore I wouldnt work corporate again. It's not the easiest life but it's the life for me. Some people need a corporate structure to digest life &To feel accomplished, but I'm not that person. I like changing lives through ideas and song. I'm inspired to inspire others! I like to provoke thought and challenge authority. I am a revolutionary and I do not respect the law.. chew on that.

#POSITIVITYISCONTAGEOUS

I was born in 1981 that makes me 32 as I write this rant. I was raised in Oceanside California and was largely influenced , like many of us, by the music of the 90's from grunge to gangster rap.. it was natural for me to put the 2 styles together into 1 & I like to call #ACOUSTICHIPHOP! I decided to make my take on it socially relevant with a major tone of positivity because that's what I personally needed in my life at the time and largely what I believe our entire planet needs.. more positivity in music. I have 3 sons now and I can't afford to have them raised off the radio like I was especially with how over sexualized it's become. POSITIVITY isn't something that I live, its something I want to live. Being a product of the 90's, its safe to say i was raised off of sex , druggs and violence plus the degredation of woman with no checks and balances. So no, positivity isnt a second nature of mine. More like destruction and self sabatage have been my mantra corner stones for as long as i can remember. Its these things i want to change about myself but i lose my battles on a daily basis with only small victories to cling too. The truth is I have great moments and write cool songs n stuff but with those extreme highs, I experience extreme lows as well.. I've chased the dream of music for the majority of my life, and it's just now starting to pay off, but not without great sacrifice and collateral damage. My family and friends have all felt the selfish nature it requires to pursue such a dream and have supported my journey though the thickest spiritual jungle imaginable and for that I'm forever greatful. And sorry that I've subjected the people I love the most to such shared heartache and dissapointment. But the victories are sweet I must say. There's just not enough of them to wash away the taste of decades filled with false hopes and failed attempts. This rant was to tell you all that while I sing about positivity and progression , and wish for the world to adopt this mind set with me, I live a different life filled with major struggle and endless sacrifice. It can feel like a prison. Every song i write I try and break free through my words and affirmations of a better life. Not just for me but for all of us. We are a work in progress.. never satisfied.
