“Timendi causa est nescire” - The Day Hunter’s Code / Ignorance is the Cause of Fear
Dominic as opposed to Donnick is a hard one to decipher. Where his rival can be deemed easily interpretable, Dom can appear both friendly in one moment and in the other he may seem to want the need to be alone. The constant switching of moods is partially due to the fact that he’s excellent at adapting to the environment he’s placed in and also because he’s never quite had the experience to socially adjust to the people around him. Born a hunter, Dom only knows the killer’s way of life thanks to the strict militant life that his father taught him to abide by, which is to live in solitude and to keep friendships temporal. Dom has no definite personality and will tend to fluctuate his personalities towards the people who approach him, which is rare considering his knack for spitting out crude comments and wry jokes can sometimes instill a tendency in people to avoid him.
Unlike his younger sister, who seems to idolize him for reasons he can’t comprehend, the man is ridiculously stubborn and dogmatic when it comes down to his own beliefs which consists of being prejudice towards those who are not of his species. This is because of the death of his parents, who died at the hands of the vampires, and also because he trusts nobody but himself. After years of hunting alone since his sister prefers to read about the history than make history, Dominic has come to only know to rely on himself than to trust others. It’s not an issue of elitism or anything, it’s just that in all the cases he’s been involved in, his beliefs had hold true to stature. This ignorant persona of his can lead to many disputes but Dom is never one to bend over backwards to cater to the will of another. If he thinks he’s right, which he knows, then he’ll stop at nothing to prove it. But this shouldn’t lead you to think that he’s selfish because he’s proven to be a hero. He will lay aside anything at any given moment to save the ones he cares about.
The hunter is a snide, egotistical, prideful being. He isn’t perfect. If anything, he’s a walking collision of flaws. And he knows this. Dominic, the embodiment of vanity, thinks he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to this school. This however does not hinder him from hunting, which many people are led to believe, considering that those who have a big head have a harder fall. Contrary to belief, Dom makes up for his sister’s lack of interest in hunting by ten fold. He’s the strongest hunter on campus and knows very well what he’s doing, mostly. He’s skilled with acting in the heat of the situation and isn’t likely to plan things out beforehand. Gifted with the talent of improvising, the man is a sharp-witted killing machine that will not hesitate to carve his own path in history, something he’s a bit obsessed with. On the outside, he appears to be full of himself, yes. But in actuality, Dominic can be genuine in the things he says or does though he likes to shroud this part of himself away. It’s just his cocky personality and never-failing sarcasm that challenges him and keeps his own trials and tribulations from surfacing to the point where others can see it.
Likes: Flirting with women, using alcohol as a coping mechanism (though this is not an abused privilege), food, hunting, expanding his knowledge about the history of the Underworld, reading in Latin, and looking after his sister- Farrah.
Dislikes: Those who oppose his opinions and ideas, vampires, werewolves, being deprived of food, and any shade of pink.
