Based on a photo from September 8, 2024.
Jewelweed is an attractive plant that stands out in September along semi-shady stream banks in the moist woods of the eastern U.S., easily recognizable by its lush appearance and small orange blossoms. Every September I look forward to seeing its flourishing presence in many of our local parks.
Native Americans used it to treat minor rashes from Poison Ivy, but it's also a proven fungicide for athlete's foot.
