he's the mayor of lonely town, population, one, population, one. stare in a hole in the ground, staring at the sun and i'm starting to feel like he might be real.
hello! i'm corrie & i’m 24, i’m from the most awkward timezone ever, gmt. i’m gonna be playing ruby, she’s a fairly new character for me, i’ve been watching ginny & georgia recently with a friend & i’ve fallen in love with antonia gentry. if u wanna know a little bit about me, i’m a big fan of stardew valley, eurovision (specifically daði and gagnamagnið, from iceland!!! <333), bob’s burgers and the colour mustard yellow. but enough about me, everything you need to know on rubes is undercut:

soooo this is ruby, she’s lived in moorbrooke for all of her life, with her mother, aunt and younger siblings. her father has never really been in her life, she doesn’t know much about it him.
her father was a bit of a deadbeat, he arrived in moorbrooke one summer and met her mother, they had a whirlwind romance. resulting in ruby and her two younger siblings.
eventually he realized that he wasn’t ready to be a dad and actually, he didn’t really wanna be so he upped & left in the middle of the night.
leaving her mother heartbroken, she worked her ass off but they couldn’t afford to live in the expensive part of moorbrooke anymore.
her aunty saw this and she said, “come move in with me” they all piled into her flat in oakley court, ruby still lives there now.
ruby adores both her mother & her aunty, they had a bit of angsty relationship growing up, but now she’s a young adult, things have never been better. they are all super close & do a lot of things together!!
she currently works as a waitress at delia’s cafe & she’s been doing that for a few years now, she loves it there.
she loves living in moorbrooke & right now she doesn’t want to live anywhere else.
she’s got two younger siblings, both boys, lives in a loud (but loving) household, so she’s had to try a little to get her voice heard.
she’s confident and takes no shit from anyone, after the exprience with her dad, she’s also a little wary of men.
she loves to skate, surf and all that good stuff. she is very much of a tomboy, even though her mum hates that.
she is currently living her best life, doing what she pleases, hanging out with her pals, doing dumb stuff tbh.
wanted connections:

if you’d like to plot with ruby, please feel free to like this post & i’ll message you or feel free to message me on discord @ corey in the pub ™#0678. i look forward to writing with you all!! thanks!! xx
Owen was stood looking at milk, debating between two different ones when he felt a tugging on his pant leg. With a rather curious expression he looked down, seeing the little boy, his entire face softening some as he saw it was a little kid. He had such a weak spot for them, maybe it was because he had been surrounded by younger siblings when he was growing it. He grinned, giving the kid a wave before turning to the woman, flashing her a smile and reaching into his pocket, quickly typing on his phone. He’s alright, no harm done at all. He smiled, turning his phone to face her so that she could read it.
the little boy waved shyly back up at niall, he was full of confidence up until someone actually noticed him, he stared back up at him. ruby tried to tug him away but that wasn’t happening, she gives the male a smile back, feeling a little awkward, “are you sure?” she asks, as she reads the message on his phone, “he’s annoying, i get it” she tucks some hair behind her ear.
As he glanced around in an aisle, Bodhi shook his head as his hand hovered over some items. They honestly didn’t know why, but they had somewhat forgotten what exactly they needed to buy. He then glanced down at his feet, seeing a little boy tugging on his leg. Chuckling awkwardly, they slowly turned back around to where they were looking, but they then noticed a woman walking towards the boy, which they felt rather bad for. “Oh, it’s alright. ‘m not bothered by him at all, he’s a cute kid.”
"are you sure? most people are" an awkward laugh fell from her lips, he was the youngest member of the anderson family and the one that clearly liked to cause the most trouble. ruby was used to it by now, she understood that not everyone else was though. “thanks, yeah, he’s a good kid. just curious” she carries on, gently tugging the little boy away from bodhi.
“Yeah, dude, stop doing that.” Baby only flinched away slightly from the tugging but it seemed to be enough to get the kid to stop - that, and the glare playing at the edge of her gaze. Maybe she could have cut the girl some slack - or the kid, whatever - but after the morning she had, Baby didn’t exactly see any understanding in her near future. Not that day. “Do you always let him do whatever he wants, or is this just my special day?”
as soon as the little boy heard baby’s voice, he backed away, going shy all of a sudden and ruby was able to scoop him up in her arms, just to be safe. “sowwy” he mumbles, clinging onto his older sister, he knew that he was in trouble. ruby keeps a tight hold of the boy, to stop him from running away, now she feels awkward too, like she was getting told off by a teacher, “hm?” she quirks a brow, “oh no, he’s a good kid, he means well, i uh --- just wasn’t keepin’ an eye on him”.
ruby was looking after her youngest sibling today, she also needed to pick up some groceries for the family. so the pair had ended up in ryhall’s cranny, she’d turned her back on her younger brother for two seconds, as she was looking at the milk, when she turned around again, he was tugging at someone’s leg. “dude, stop doing that, c’mon” she hisses at the little boy, feeling embarrassed but he was having none of it, he kept tugging.
“So, are you the blind date that they set up for me or do I just look pathetic sitting by myself here?”
Strangely enough, Blake was not dressing in his usual style; this time a rather semi-formal clothing hung from his body as he leaned back on his chair with eyes fixed on the screen of his phone. This was STUPID, to say the least, but once he was done with this, they would stop being annoying.

ruby was currently in her work uniform, she was on her way home but she’d stopped by sandals to grab a bite to eat. “i think you’ve got the wrong girl” she says, with a slight shrug of her shoulders, feeling a little awkward, “i was just wonderin’ if the seat was taken, all the other seats are gone, it’s busy” she pauses, “but uh --- if you’re waitin’ for someone, i’ll go”.

Any chance of running into a familiar face was pretty much its own walk of shame, and not even in the fun way. Oh how long ago those wild days seemed. But it was time to grow up. The girl who was once the charismatic wild child of the most lovable family in Moorbrooke was all grown up and all out of dreams. She wasn’t the big star she always bragged about becoming. She was just a failure; a burnt out star fading away. She had real responsibilities now. Maybe she could hide behind the idea that she had people to take care of…. or would it just make her look worse because she had a daughter she never met… Her mind basically blurred as she reached for the bag of chips to throw into her cart, not even noticing her hand bumping against another’s. “Sorry,” she said quickly, looking down at the ground, “Go ahead, I can just go for the Flaming Hot Cheetos instead.”
the anderson family ran on a strict rota system, each sunday night, ruby's mother and aunt would sit at the dining room table, doling out chores to the younger members of the family. even though ruby was a young adult now, she still had to take part, after all she was still living under their roof. this week it was her job to get the weekly shop in, she liked doing that, she could get bits that everyone liked and sneak some stuff in for herself. that’s what she was doing right now, cheeto puffs were one of her favorite snacks, she hadn’t noticed the other till it was too late, “oh no worries” she feels awkward now, “are you sure?” ruby asks with a quirked brow, “this can’t be the only packet of cheeto puffs in the store”.
“Uh, I didn’t…” Avery trailed off, shuffling away from the counter to avoid making a scene. Oat milk. How hard was it to remember oat milk? Then again, the cafe was busy. It was definitely just an accident. And the O did kinda look like a C, now that he looked at the cup. Hemming and hawing for a moment on what exactly to do, Avery looked over and shrugged. “You, uh…d’you want a free macchiato? I didn’t drink it or anything, I just…” God, was this weird? This felt weird. “They read the cup wrong and it’s got coconut milk. If…iif that makes a difference.”
ruby was lost in her own little world as she waited in the queue for coffee, her headphones blasting out loud music. she was tapping her foot on the ground, thinking about what she wanted to do for the day when she noticed avery speaking, pulling out an earbud, she listened. ruby nods her head in reply, “of course. i’d never say no to a FREE coffee, saves me waiting” she says with a smile, “doesn’t bother me, you wanna reorder yours though? i’ll pay, as a thank you” ruby carries on.
