BIOGRAPHY.

oliver coulson was born to a loving single mother in chicago. they’d been left by his father shortly after he was informed of the pregnancy, so his whole life he only ever had a mother. she was honest with him from the start and so he never asked about his father. two years later came his little sister dominique, and once again there was no man in the picture. ollie didn’t mind this upbringing because come hell or high water, his mother never disappointed him. he lived in chicago until he was 20 when both him and his sister started to pursue their stupid dream of being punk rockstars. it was silly, but the band had been together for three years now and they had an opportunity to tour. their sibling rockstar career was short lived because only a couple months on the road and his sister decided she wanted to go to college, and left the band. dominique went back to chicago and ollie and the band continued touring the states. a year after the band’s tour, and pumping out two albums, they met their demise. the band broke up and oliver was left without a job, or a passion. by this time he’d worked every customer service job imaginable and he was tired. he’d already tried to pursue his musician dream and now at 22, when all of his other friends were graduating with degrees, he wanted to do something mature. he began to volunteer as a fireman in chicago, while working nights at a diner. eventually when they were hiring for more firefighters, ollie was first in line and he started that career. he often switched states just to work different gigs and met people that way. dominique went to maine where she started her career as a meteorologist and over the years, she kept oliver updated. and ollie was always jealous that dominique got her degree, because she had the marks for a full ride scholarship where as all he’d done since high school was work minimum wage and long hours.  during his mid and late twenties ollie moved around a lot so he never truly unpacked in a place. he had a few relationships, but nothing that truly panned out. if he was being honest, he wasn’t sure that settling down would ever be for him. after all, he was 28 and his heart was still stuck with the one that got away. that all changed when he met wanted connection. it was love at first sight and with them, ollie finally found a home. they were wonderful in every way and they’ve been together ever since. their relationship faced tough times when ollie heard about dominique’s disappearance. oliver was a mess. his sister was his life and he’d visited her so many times, she was so happy in her job. but at only 27 years of age, dominique was gone and the authorities reported her as dead. this was his last somber visit to moorbrooke and it happened a year ago. his partner supported him wholeheartedly and it was the only reason ollie’s still standing.  fast forward to now. dominique passed away a year ago and ollie found himself back in moorbrooke. it wasn’t work that brought him here, but his sister. he wanted to feel close to her again, so here he came. unfortunately for his relationship, a couple months after domi’s death, ollie found himself unable to sit still in the relationship again. he got caught cheated on his partner, and they’re currently on a break, but not broken up ( very rachel/ross ). he’s working at the fire department in moorbrooke and currently crashing at his best friend’s ( but he’s paying rent  ). 

PERSONALITY.

ollie is a funny guy. he’s silly and charming and he likes it when people like him. he’s also a huge flirt and he loves any attention he gets. he’s a good friend, and always there if you need a shoulder to cry on. but being a bastard bachelor for so long, he never really became mature. he’s still careless with how he spends money and always wonders what if. he thinks his golden years have passed him by. he is going to therapy and he was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. he’s very keen on self sabotage because when your sister dies younger than you’ll ever be again, there is no point in trying. he doesn’t think he deserves a good life. big bucket of self hate over here!

b a c k s t o r y

annie  had a nice, clean and loving childhood. no scandals, no secrets and nothing but loving and understanding adults. she did good in school, and had her eyes set on becoming a doctor. annie went trough highschool as a somewhat popular and overall happy teenager. and then she started college, and that’s when things started going wrong.

or, they didn’t go south because she started college, but because she met pete. pete was charming and persistent, and annie fell head over heals. he showered her in gifts, compliments and attention. she was on cloud nine, altough her family never really liked pete. soon enough, the gifts and compliments stopped coming. the attention stayed, however it changed character. pete needed to know everything, all the time. he became controlling, and eventually he became violent. annie became a silent and scared shadow of her former self.

annie left college after just two years, to become a stay at home wife to pete. it was what he wanted, and she didn’t know anything other than his wishes at that point. her family tried multiple times to get her to come home, but they never realised just how bad it was. the nightmare that was annie’s life went on for three more years, before coming to an abrupt end.

pete was angrier than ever, because annie had finally decided to leave. she tried to pack and leave in the night, when he wouldn’t notice. but he did, and he started accusing her of leaving for another man. she wasn’t though, she was leaving to save her own life. pete got so mad, that he decided to set the house on fire. his reasoning, was that if they weren’t together they might as well be dead.

annie managed to get out of the house fairly quickly, escaping with just some smoke in her lungs and burns on her legs. pete however, never made it out at all. the fire was ruled an accident, and annie became a widow.

she got out, alive. from the house, yeah. but also from the relationship. annie left the town they were in, and moved to moorbrooke. because that’s where her parents had moved a few years earlier, and because she wanted a fresh start.

she isn’t the same carefree, loving and social person she was before pete. but she tries to get back to the person she want’s to be.

buying the florist shop was a way to make a future for herself and have something that was just hers. that she could decide over however she wanted, after living with someone controlling her every move for so long.

when it comes to connections, i am open to most things. she could really use some friends, maybe an employee, neighboor or family friend. also someone her parents are trying to set her up with, the first person she slept with after her husband (she most likley woke up in panic), a sibling, a cousin, someone she used to be friends with and lost contact with during her marriage, someone that is a regular at her shop. but like i said, i’m open to most things!

chaos was a constant in the household that julien grew up in. born to two young, unprepared parents who were musicians themselves, julien was always doted on and always felt loved, but the lifestyle was messy, and she would still say that she learned to take care of herself from a very young age due to being unable to rely on her parents all the time.

this wasn’t always a bad thing, and she does credit it as strengthening her relationship with her parents, as it allowed them to treat her more like an adult, with respect. julien never made a problem when her parents went on tour and left her with a handful of boring relatives for a while; in return, her parents didn’t fuss too much about her eventually dropping out of school to pursue music. music had always come to her much more easily than school, anyways — not to mention she liked it much more. all of this uncertainty, though, led her to develop an attitude that some might describe as standoffish. she doesn’t mean to be like this, but it does tend to be an aura that she projects without realizing.

most of the time, though, her aura is exactly the opposite. julien in her prime can be incredibly charming, funny, and talkative. you don’t make it far as a musician who dropped out of high school unless you know how to make friends, and julien has never found herself short of acquaintances. wherever she goes, she can strike up a conversation with someone suddenly and be totally absorbed.

despite her ability to make friends, love has never been her strong suit, and her first real heartbreak at the age of 21 left her mostly closed off to the idea of love — after a string of disappointing & lackluster failed relationships, julien met & fell head over heels for a female drummer she was working with at age twenty-one, and has never looked back since. the relationship ended up being doomed before it really could start, because a young girl figuring out her sexuality and her first relationship while falling head over heels for an older traveling musician isn’t exactly the stuff of fairy tales. 

as it turns out, the loneliness and chaos of working and living as a touring musician starts to take its toll on you after a while. about five years back, after a particularly brutally long stint of touring with some musician friends, she decided to take a step back and pursue one of her other passions, art. she got a little experience under her belt working as a tattoo intern, and fell in love with the job, and has kept doing it consistently while playing music. it was part of what kept her sane when music ended up driving her off the walls. 

after so many years of living the lifestyle of a musician, plus starting to split her time between that and tattooing, julien thought she could handle touring and making music full time again a few years ago. but the loneliness of living on the road plus some constant low-simmering tension had her alcohol consumption level increasing at an alarming rate, as much as she tried to hide it. it was low and slow, but eventually her drinking blew out of proportion. she went on a bender that resulted in a drunken blowout with one of her bandmates, and before she could even process it, she was off to rehab trying to pick up the pieces of everything her life had become. 

after rehab came some time spent back at home with her family, a place she’d left at eighteen and hardly looked back to except for short visits. it was nice, and it was well-needed, but it also drove her a little fucking insane for all the chaos in her life to suddenly be replaced with quiet. after a few months steady on her feet, she decided a change was in order, and moorbrooke seemed just the place when she stumbled onto it. she’s working full time as a tattoo artist, and playing music on the side just to take the edge off of things — of course, though, in the back of her brain, there’s a voice worrying about it all getting to be too much again.

        when  cecily  was  thirteen  ,  her  father  sent  her  to  the  store  ,  and  she  was  hit  by  a  car  on  her  way  home  .  her  right  leg  broke  .  her  parents  told  the  driver  they’d  handle  things  ,  and  sent  them  on  their  way  .  they  didn’t  take  cecily  to  the  hospital  ,  and  instead  let  her  leg  heal  on  its  own  .  it  healed  ,  but  it  wasn’t  right  ,  and  it  resulted  in  her  walking  with  a  limp  ever  since  .  when  it  was  eventually  discovered  that  her  parents  were  so  neglectful  ,  she  was  already  fifteen  .  her  half-siblings’  father  hadn’t  known  ,  but  offered  for  cecily  to  move  into  his  home  while  she  completed  high  school  .  

        she  attended  bowdoin  ,  and  started  as  a  history  major  ,  but  switched  to  art  when  she  took  a  class  and  was  so  inspired  by  the  professor  that  she  decided  to  stay  .  art  has  provided  her  with a  good  output  for  her  emotions  .

ii  .  CAREFUL  CREATURE  MADE  FRIENDS  WITH  TIME  —  it  was  during  her  university  years  that  she  met  her  EX-BOYFRIEND  ,  who  had  lived  in  moorbrooke  all  his  life  .  they  hit  it  off  ,  and  dated  up  for  a  few  years  on  and  off  .  the  break-up  was  mutual  ,  both  just  no  longer  wanting  the  same  things  but  agreeing  to  stay  friends  .  she’d  assumed  it  would  be  one  where  they’d  simply  lose  contact  like  was  typical  ,  but  she  found  out  she  was  pregnant  about  a  month  after  .  and  while  they  didn’t  get  back  together  ,  they  agreed  to  co-parent  and  have  been  doing  so  peacefully  since  ,  despite  pressure  from  his  family  to  get  married  .

iii  .  BURNING  CITIES  &  NAPALM  SKIES  —  she  moved  to  moorbrooke  so  her  children  ,  KAZPAR  and  KAROLINA  would  be  near  their  father  .  things  were  okay  at  first  ,  until  her  ex  started  dating  another  girl  ,  and  the  girl  tried  to  involve  herself  in  cecily’s  pregnancy  ,  and  then  over-involving  herself  in  the  twins’  lives  while  simultaneously  trying  to  poison  them  against  cecily  .  cecily  was  relieved  when  her  ex  finally  ended  things  with  her  ,  though  it  would  not  resolve  the  remaining  issues  the  parents  now  have  .

however  ,  while  cecily  tries  to  put  on  this  image  of  being  PERFECT  ,  good  at  her  jobs  and  balancing  her  work  and  home  life  perfectly  ,  she’s  constantly  exhausted  .  she  was  diagnosed  with  insomnia  during  her  college  years  ,  and  between  that  and  waking  up  every  time  the  twins  do  ,  she  doesn’t  get  much  sleep  .

             penelope  lane ,    affectionately  named  after  the  iconic  beatles  song ,    truly  never  stood  a  chance  at  growing  into  anyone  but  who  she  is  now .    she  arrived  fashionably  late ,   thirteen  minutes  after  her  brother ,   james .   the  only  daughter  to  an  idyllic  family  with  money ,   love ,    and  ample  attention ,     she  was  spoiled  rotten  as  a  child .     anything  she  wanted ,    she  got :    within  reason ,   of  course .

            it  made  sense ,   didn’t  it ?   it  felt  like  a  natural  progression ,   a  part  of  penny’s  personality  that  added  up  perfectly .   she  was  born  to  be  the  head  cheerleader .  a  queen  bee  but  a  fiercely  loyal  friend ,    penny  quickly  grew  to  one  of  the  most  popular ,   if  not  somewhat  infamous ,    girls  in  the  moorbrooke  school district .   nobody  ever  seemed  to  be  able  to  catch  her  with  so  much  as  a  chipped  nail  or  a  strand  of  hair  out  of  place .    people  would  bend  over  backwards  to  make  a  good  impression ,   make  her  like  them ,    &  her  opinion  influenced  a  large  percentage  of  the  student  body  population .    she  was  voted  prom  queen ,   homecoming  queen ,   given  all  the  meaningless  status  she  could  stomach .   penny  was  on  top  of  the  world ,  and  she  never  seemed  to  falter .

             tw  grooming ,   underage  in  her  early  teens ,    as  penny  began  to  consider  a  professional  cheer  career ,   she  started  private  lessons  from  the  assistant  cheer  coach  at  the  school .   he  was  young ,   in  his  early  20s ,   with  a  boyish  charm  that  left  penny  completely  smitten .   and  all  the  extra  one - on - one  time  together  didn’t  help ,   either .   pen  used  every  single  bit  of  her  charisma  to  capture  his  attention ,   and  it  worked .   of  course ,    looking  back ,   she  can  see  the  signs .   as  an  adult ,   she  knows  it  was  wrong .   but  at  the  time ,    it  was  what  she  thought  she  wanted :   she  still  struggles  with  the  feeling  that  she  brought  it  on  herself .  the  predatory  relationship  continued  for  almost  two  years ,  until  the  two  were  caught  together  after  school  by  one  of  the  girls  on  the  squad .   word  travels  quickly  in  a  small  town  like  moorbrooke ,    and  it  didn’t  take  long  for  penny’s  ‘ first  love ’  to  be  fired  as  well  as  arrested .

            it  would  be  a  lot  for  anyone  to  cope  with .   penny  was  heartbroken ,   and  even  defended  the  man  for  years  to  anyone  who  would  ask .  she  coped  with  the  aftermath  messily ,   with  alcohol  and  parties  and  even  more  college  guys .   these  habits  would  only  worsen  when ,   at  eighteen ,    her  baby  brother  alfie  passed  away  in  an  accidental  house  fire  started  by  james .   she  completely  shut  down  from  the  world .    nobody  outside  of  the  family  saw  her  for  a  month .     despite  the  lasting  ache  in  her  chest ,    once  her  period  of  mourning  ended ,    she  returned  to  school  &  her  regular  life ,     though  angrier  and  more  nihilistic .     she  continues  to  wear  a  golden  locket  with  alfie’s  picture  inside ,   &  is  almost  never  seen  without  it .

            after  her  high  school  graduation ,    she  felt  a  little  lost .    she  worked  a  few  odd  jobs  around  moorbrooke  for  a  year  or  so ,    but  she  was  miserable  and  desperate  for  a  taste  of  the  influence  she  had  grown  so  accustomed  to  in  school .   shortly  after  her  19th  birthday ,    penny  packed  her  things  and  moved  to  nyc  to  pursue  a  career  as  an  actress ,     or  model ,     or  really  anything  that  came  her  way  that  would  help  quench  that  thirst  to  be  more .  her  girlfriend  at  the  time ,   mala ,   moved  with  her  to  start  a  new  life  together .   for  a  moment ,   things  were  good .

            tw  sexual  assault  mention ,   drug  mention unfortunately ,    it  wouldn’t  last .   this  is  penny  lane ,    after  all .   with  her  inflated  sense  of  survival  bias ,    she  didn’t  properly  vet  the  people  she  was  surrounded  by ,     and  one  particular  ‘ photographer ’   ended  up  assaulting  her  during  a  shoot .    after  that ,    it  was  hard  for  her  to  continue  to  try .    she  began  to  pick  stupid  fights  with  mala  and  stopped  trying  to  book  any  work .    ultimately ,   she  ended  up  dumping  mala ,    the  relationship  having  become  too  much  effort  when  all  penny  wanted  to  do  was  drink  and  snort  her  money  away  until  it  ran  dry .

            so  she  did  just  that .   shortly  before  her  21st  birthday ,   penny finally  had  to  come  home  to  moorbrooke .    despite  her  desire  for  independence ,  she  moved  back  in  with  her  parents .    at  that  point ,    all  she  really  wanted  was  her  family  and  the  comfort  she  always  received  from  them .   she  spent  a  year  living  with  them  and  trying  to  get  her  life  together  before  moving  into  her  maple  court  apartment . 

            she  started  dancing  at  brinie’s  and  loves  it ,    although  there  is  a  bitter  resentment  she  feels .   penny  never  thought  she  would  end  up  here ,     she  was  always  certain  she  was  destined  for  better  things .     so  she  numbs  the  anger  with  alcohol  &  cocaine ,   but  still  shows  up  to  family  dinner  with  a  smile  every  week .   she  also  does  competitive  pole  dancing ,   and  won  the  2022  state  championships .   it’s  the  only  thing  she’s  found  in  her  adult  life  that  gives  her  that  same  excitement  &  pride  she  felt  with  cheer  so  many  years  ago .

since the age of two, zian has lived in the small town of moorbrooke, maine. he was the youngest of the two lapointe children and he was also the more rambunctious one. despite being incredibly intelligent zian has always found ways to get into trouble in school, but his ability both dumbfounded and frustrated his professors. his implusive nature and quick witted tongue always got him sent to detention, suspended for a couple of days, or home with a letter that his parents had to sign.

things in his household were always a bit rocky. whether it were his parents fighting with one another, his father drinking too much, him getting in trouble, or his father taking out his anger on him, something always seemed to be going down. at first he cried at the pain beat whipping he got felt like, but eventually he learned  that life was going to end up kicking your ass one way or another so he might as well get used to it. and he did, he eventually did not cry when his father lost his temper.

tw: homophobia mention he was ten years old when he saw the movie the outsiders and had his first gay awakening. the moment his eyes landed on sodapop curtis, zian was a goner. he didn’t understand what he was feeling, especially after the shower scene, but he knew that he wanted to keep exploring these new feelings. somehow his father caught wind of what he was feeling and put a stop to it in the only way he knew how, also trying to drill into zian that  he ‘had to carry the family name one day’ with a kid of his own. eventually he learned to suppress these feelings as much as possible, but the thoughts still lingered in the back of his mind.

even though he doesn’t live with his father anymore these days, the guy is still very close to him, he still has a big influence in zian’s life. he’s not a quitter, something that he has proven again and again, especially when it comes to a fight. there’s times were even when he’s getting his ass handed to him he goes down swinging until he gets knocked out. he’s okay with losing just as long as he knows he gave it his all until the very end. he has a roommate that he gets along pretty well with which is still something that surprises him because he never thought anyone would be able to handle living with him for longer than an hour.

he had been working at brinie’s bar since he was twenty two. three years ago the bar came under owner ship of nadine dupont and zian couldn’t be happier with how things are. he’s loyal to her because he finds a sense of home with her that he’s never felt before, and he loves how she always seems to know how to knock sense into him. plus, fighting in her secret fight club also adds to the seemingly endless list as to why zian thinks he has the coolest boss around.

one day he wants to be a professional boxer and until that day comes he’s happy to be under the wing of demir kava-fortier. he knows he probably makes the guy want to scream sometimes because he can be very hard headed and not exactly the easiest person to work with, especially train, but there’s no one else that zian could imagine would be able to take on the challenge.

jill became homeless at the age of 16 when their  mother decided to abandon them. they didn’t know their father, so jill was truly on their own. so they took their time to backpack the country before landing in new york. they got in a lot of freaking trouble there and short story long, they ended up getting arrested and sent to an orphanage after spending a year in juvie. came back to moorbrooke cus they missed his pals. they never graduated high school. instead got their GED when they were like 20. only a handful of people knows about that part of jill’s life, because it’s not something they like to flaunt. those two years were traumatizing for jill  but they are trying to move past it. their dream? to become a farmer lol. knows a lot about agriculture, so they are working up the courage to go to college for it
