Behold! Myself and @academicbrainrot as Devotion and Domination of the Endless! (Respectively, of course)

The color palettes are based on our blogs, and the clothing/armor style is taken directly from 13th century gothic knights and kings. Also, it’s heavily referenced and influenced by art from Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, a movie we both love.

I love how this art piece turned out, I’m super proud of myself! I had to give myself wings and Domination a halo tho, bc of ~aesthetic~ reasons. I hope y’all enjoy!

After @neil-gaiman himself liked this post, I'd like to expand a bit on the importance of this one panel.

When Dream asks "am I always like this" he's surrounded by numerous different facets of himself. As a plant, a cat, a giant, a robot, a superhero in spandex, a primordial eye, even fem!Dream. And they all spend time discussing semantics until some of them start asking the real questions: why they are there, where is there, and who collected them all in one place.

When Morpheus asks that, he doesn't mean "am I always so self-centred" in a time way. He doesn't mean if he is like that all the time.

He does, but in a different way: he means if all his iterations are like that. By "always", he means in every single universe and form and timeline. In this case the use of a time word ("always") means time and space.

And what he sees, is that he cannot change. He will always in whatever form be the same, he will always end up asking the same questions, he will never learn. Which is what this entire story is all about.

I don't think he even needed to make the choice to either change or die, as Neil has said. He will not change because he is convinced he cannot change.
