Movies and tv series dedicated to Lithuanian Centenary

Laisvės kaina. Savanoriai - The Price of Freedom. Volunteers

It tells the story of Lithuanian volunteers, scholars and politicians who brought the Independence back to Lithuania and fought for our freedom during 1918-1940.

Laisvės kaina. Partizanai - The Price of Freedom. Partisans

The second part of above series. The story line takes place during the Nazi and Soviet occupations. It includes massive deportations and Jewish holocaust.

The third part is still pending.

Emilija iš Laisvės alėjos - Emilija from Liberty Boulevard

A historical drama based on the events that took place in 1972 when Romas Kalanta burned himself alive in Liberty Boulevard in Kaunas as a protest against Soviet regime. The main character Emilija, an actress who moves to Kaunas from a small village, gets accidentally involved in the riot sparked by Romas’ protest.

Grąžinti Nepriklausomybę - To Bring the Independence Back

A comedy which answers the question what would happen if four signatories of the Act of the Reinstating of Lithuanian Independence would suddenly come back to life today. They discover that the original document is in Berlin and decide to bring it back to Lithuania while tackling modern-day issues at the same time.

Pelėdų kalnas - Owl Mountain

A historical drama about Lithuanian partisans who resisted foreign regimes. The movie was filmed in a number of authentic Lithuanian places, including the titled Owl Mountain which is located in Kaunas.

This is Frank, I was petsitting him last week. Pugs are adorable, but they have so many breathing problems.. I think it’s not worth sacrificing health for the looks, and breeders should take more responsibility for the dogs wellbeing.

I took these pictures in Abisko, Sweden, in the winter of 2008, after an 11h ride from Uppsala, pushing through the thick layer of snow all the way..
