Great fortune!
Hello, sorry if I’m overstepping a bit but I wanted to see if you’re okay. Your other blog got deactivated so I’m wondering if everything is alright?
everything's cool. I had just been feeling checked out of tumblr as a social space for a while now, and chose to close it ultimately

theres a lot of people who will say u have to master pixel techniques or draw within restraints but tbh i think u should draw however u want and whatever method gives u an end result u enjoy. don't be bogged down by pixel art elitists and gatekeepers
drawing with restrictions (e.g a 3 colour palette) is fun as a challenge. it's fun to push urself to try new things. but it shouldn't be the default like a lot of tutorials will tell u to do
too many people think of pixel art as a niche format that's inaccessible but actually u just need to draw. u just need to make something and keep making things and develop ur own style and methods as u go. pixel art is a medium
this is a good point! i think a lot of people associate pixel art as being 'video game art' and then it becomes inaccessible in peoples mind. it's easy to forget it's just art. and it's also easy to think u have to draw a certain way because that's the popularized style/the common example. i see a lot of people who think pixel art starts and stops at pokemon or stardew valley, including game devs
Don't go
