can you smell that? autumn is coming
iâve written in my journal so many times this week that i can smell autumn in the air, itâs the smell of cross country season, but i donât know even how to describe it

It is okay to rest or slow down. Stop putting so much pressure on yourself to be constantly productive. You deserve to have a break
âyou have to eat to run!!! you have to eat to run fast!!! you have to eat to BLAH BLAH BLAHâ
you can just eat something without justifying how youâre going to USE what you just ate. you can eat something just because it tastes good. you can eat something because you need comfort. you can literally eat for NO reason whatsoever.
so tired of seeing posts where someone is justifying eating ONLY to run or perform physically. good lort
letâs talk about the running brain for a sec....
i was try to figure out when i was going to turn around in order to hit 9.5 miles & somehow convinced myself it was 3.75 (???) THATâS TWO MILES SHORT but somehow my brain while running was like âyeah, yeah, 3.75 thatâs rightâ
ANYWAYS DESPITE NOT BEING ABLE TO MATH AND HAVING TO RUN EXTRA LOOPS AROUND TOWN, I HAD SO MUCH FUN ON MY RUN AND I HAVENT ENJOYED RUNNING SO MUCH IN A LONG TIME
GUYS I JUST GOT MY SUMMER TRAINING FOR TRACK IM OFFICIALLY ON COLLEGE TRACK I AM SO ASDFGHJKL;
came across this 3 years laterâŠ.I truthfully had forgotten that I never expected to run in college. I had never thought I was good enough to compete on a collegiate team, let alone be a captain on said team, or consistently score in every conference meetâŠ.yet here we are. Iâll be keeping this post in mind for the rest of my summer training
Eat healthy foods because you want to nourish your body, not because you want to change the way it looks.
Move your body because you want to keep it strong and healthy, not to change its shape.
Love your body fiercely, and let that love be what drives you to treat yourself with kindness.

Okay hereâs the thing:
- If you donât like oatmeal with almond butter, donât eat it Â
- If you donât like running, donât runÂ
- If weight lifting isnât your thing, thatâs okayÂ
- If you canât afford Gymshark, Alphalete, Lulu Lemon, thatâs cool too. Use what you have.Â
Do not let social media convince you that there is a specific way to be healthy and fit. I get caught up in it myself. I have the self-talk of âI should be doing that specific workout because she isâ or âmy mile-splits are x mins off of hers, Iâm not a real runner.â Thereâs nothing wrong with seeking guidance and inspiration but at the end of the day you should make your fitness journey about you what works best for you. Our bodies are different, our mindsets are different, our preferences are different. Different doesnât equal wrong. Do your thing.Â
