Virgo The Perfectionist
Virgo is the sign of the perfectionist, while this part of Virgo can be complicated and misunderstood I believe there is something to Virgo in your chart signifying the area you are most self-critical of.
Virgo in the 1st House: Criticism towards the self. Critical towards personality and potentially confidence. The Virgo Rising is known to care about appearance and/or first impressions greatly. Some can be materialistic while others are more humble and down-to-earth, but Virgo in this House indicates a drive to share with the world that they are helpful, useful, nice, polite, cooperative - they are a person who wants to appear and to be "good".
Virgo in the 2nd House: May be most critical in the tangible world. Critical about what they own, buy, wear, and sometimes create. Their critical nature may also turn inward towards self-worth and trust. Their perfectionist nature is reflected in what they value. At one end of the spectrum this placement may make someone a trend chaser, loyal to brands or status of what they own, materialistic or even a little vain - on the other end they may feel undeserving of what they've earned and accumulated over the years, maybe not believing they deserve the best of things materially. They can be realistic in this area of life or the opposite - have unrealistic standards/expectations. Some may swing between these two ideals. Working on confidence and self-worth is vital for this placement.
Virgo in the 3rd House: Always analyzing and perfecting their relationship to their community, classmates, siblings and/or extended family, and maybe peers. They may be hard on themselves in school or with learning/studying. They can be critical in how they communicate with others, in what they share, and in their opinions. May have insecurities towards education. Their perfectionist energy may be easily expressed and often unintentionally. They are the fact-checkers, cautious in their relationships or self-expression, and may be one for self-depreciating jokes or might find it hard to not criticize a loved one. Despite all of this has a drive to teach others, share ideas, and will always have a thirst for knowledge.
Virgo in the 4th House: Here perfectionist and critical energy comes out in their family life. They may be highly critical of family members, may always feel like what they do is never enough for family, and works the hardest in their private life vs. public life. This individual is likely to be a devoted and reliable family member, but they need to work on accepting their own flaws and the flaws of their family. Their most private and inner self can be that of a healer, smarty pants, intuitive, caregiver, and provider. But this side of them is usually refined, always under scrutiny either by themselves or others, and may be looked at as a place of weakness or something that will always need to improve and be worked on.
Virgo in the 5th House: Their worst critic when it comes to their art or hobbies. May find it hard to let loose and have fun or relax. With dating they can be flirty, clever, and may have a complicated relationship with romance and intimacy. A part of them could be very eager to court, touch, and love someone, but another part of them may find shame or be negative towards certain aspects of dating or romance somehow. Could approach dating in a materialistic, overly practical, or cautious way. Can be hard on themselves when a date goes wrong or after a breakup. Self-expression can be hard but has the ability to be healing and empowering for them. Working with "messy" or "imperfect" art may be something worth exploring.
Virgo in the 6th House: May be a perfectionist at work, but is especially a perfectionist when it comes to their skills. Will want to seem perfect to their coworkers or peers. They will also always want to appear as competent or even a master at something in their spaces. Can be highly critical and proactive about their health and/or body. A drive to help others or feel useful may be apparent with this placement and can be an area they are hard on themselves with. This is the supportive coworker, most efficient and talented employee, the dependable volunteer, life-saving healthcare worker, and/or caring and thoughtful protector. But must tap into and understand the reasons why they work hard and give to or care for others.
Virgo in the 7th House: May be looking for the "perfect" partner or trying to be the perfect lover, spouse, or date. Can be hyper-critical of their appearance and how they relate or connect with others. They are the over thinkers after a text, may easily get embarrassed, and is likely more observant and intuitive than they realize. They can have unrealistic standards in their closest relationships, especially romantic ones. But this placement also knows the importance of having standards and is usually careful when choosing to commit to someone. Lessons learned from relationships usually revolve around discovering what they need vs. want, loving the imperfect self, appreciating the little things in others, and the hard work it takes to maintain a healthy relationship or a sense of pragmatism in relationships.
Virgo in the 8th House: May be highly critical in the realm of intimacy, which could turn into fears, anxieties, or complexes in this important area of life. This could also mean they are very active and focused on this part of the self and life. Wishing to be a siren of sorts. May be critical towards shared finances and investments, making fights about money common among them and others. There may be a nagging thought or feeling that they have to fix themselves or others. Their depth and inner reflection can be blunt and critical. They may approach their fears, what is hidden and/or what is taboo to them with an analytical mind, practicality, an investigative quality, and will notice everything. In this placement Virgo the Sage may come out often.
Virgo in the 9th House: Wonderful student and knowledgeable, observant, and flexible traveler. However they may be most critical towards their education - especially in adulthood. They may also be critical in the realm of belief systems. Maybe highly traditional in their ethics or religion. They can be highly critical of others' beliefs as well. Their perfectionist and cautious nature may also hold them back in these areas of life. Always planning the perfect trip, but never going on it. Wanting to get that certification but never feeling ready for the exam. Never finishing their novel. Etc. May put a lot of hard work towards a degree, religious acts, or traveling. They can be the perfect student, a meaningful traveler, and a guiding spiritual leader or helper but must overcome issues of shame, bigotry, shallowness, or burn out in this area of the chart.
Virgo in the 10th House: Most critical in their career and performance at work. Potential to be a workaholic. Is hard on themselves when it comes to the public sphere and professional world. They may guard their reputation intensely and may have many insecurities around it. But this placement is also associated with the master or expert of a skill or craft, the mentor, the manager, or the professional. Their perfectionist nature in this part of life can gain them a lot of success, but at what cost? Stress from their work life may be detrimental. Considered one of the hardest working placements in general. Can have a huge fear of failure, taking risks is hard for them but often times rewarding due to their intelligence and skills. They should never fear failure but embrace it as a teacher or motivator.
Virgo in the 11th House: Can indicate someone who may be the picky friend or a friend who isn't afraid to judge you. This could also indicate someone who never feels like they are a good friend to others or who maybe struggles to find good companions. They can be loyal, supportive, and trustworthy friends who tend to befriend people for a long time, even life. Their high-standards in friends or the groups they associate with usually protects them. But they may cut others off too easily or be overly cautious in forming friendships. Some with this placement may limit themselves or have rules for themselves in how they connect with others either as a friend or in a group setting. When in a group setting is likely to impress with their intellect, mental quickness, or manners and grace. They want to be the perfect team member and sometimes the perfect friend. Their critical nature might not always be aimed at their pals but at themselves. They may withdraw when they fear a friend could discover a flaw. They may enable their friends or be easily taken advantage of. Many times they are vital in an organization, community, or group. They are the one who gets things done. They may find purpose or feel most needed when being part of a group or organization.
Virgo in the 12th House: Their inner critic is deep in the subconscious. Guilt, skepticism, judgement, and imperfections can be heavy and feel real in the spiritual realm. This person is incredibly intelligent, follows their pure instincts, can see through the B.S., and just wants to help or do good. Their inner strengths and potential revolve around giving, serving others, dignity, curiosity, patience, and honesty. Logic and pragmatism are their friend as well as a blindside. They need to be careful of being distracted or overly concerned about the physical realm to where they ignore their emotional and spiritual self. Their perfectionist nature may manifest as a doubtful inner voice. They want to help others see themselves clearer, to understand the reality of spiritual beliefs or integrity, and to help others learn and grow overall. But to do this effectively they must grow and learn themselves first.
