Hi there, are you doing a birthday auction this year?

Hello! I think you may have been able to work out the answer to this one yourself 😂 - but no, it's gotten too quiet around here so I wasn't hopeful of a decent response. I toyed with the idea of a kudoboard or similar but again, kind of needs a lot of input or it falls a bit flat. (Also I'm very busy this month with travel and family commitments - I'm just about to leave again for the next 6 days!)

Rupert is still fairly active on Twitter though so I think sending messages there will be a good way to wish him the best on the day (and I can screenshot and send to him there for people who aren't on twitter if you drop it in my askbox.)

Firstly, an enormous thank you to the incredibly generous people who've already donated well in advance of Rupert's birthday on the 30th, and almost raised 100% of the target before June is even halfway done!

Secondly, another huge thank you to the people who've offered to donate things for the fanworks auction. Remember you have until Wednesday next week (the 14th) to offer any fic, art, crochet, sculpture, macaroni art, whatever you feel like that you think your fellow fans might enjoy! It would be lovely to get at least into double digits of items offered!

RUPERT IS TURNING SIXTY!!

I know!

This man - THIS MAN - is having the sheer audacity to turn sixty years old at the end of June.

And still look like that!!

The nerve.

Anyway, what say we congratulate him by donating to a brilliant charity in his name?

After consultation with sources close to Mr Graves (*cough* the missus) we've decided to donate to Young Minds again this year as, let's face it, their work is still very much needed, more than ever in fact.

A JustGiving page has been set up here in anticipation of the day, (though of course if you'd like to get the ball rolling now, far be it from me to stop you!) and...

We're now accepting donations for this years fanworks auction!

Please spread the word as much as you can - here, Twitter, discord, community noticeboards, lamposts - and don't forget to bookmark the JustGiving page and set a reminder if you plan to donate. (And if you're not in a position to do that, shouting about it to other people is just as helpful!)

We hit bang on £1000 - and then Rupert added another £100 on top (because apparently he doesn’t get how birthday presents work! 😉 )

And next year... well, it’s a milestone so we’ll have to do something extra special! My ask box is always open to suggestions and I’ll maybe drag off the dustsheets a little earlier (March/April ish). See you then!
