Sims 3 custom content relevant to rustic, off-grid, agricultural, desert-type and/or tribal-style playing scenarios, with some fantasy/occult-themed stuff thrown in, too.
Maintained by this idiot.
Yes, it's Yet Another Sims 3 CC Finds Blog™, but I wanted this one to have a specific(ish) niche.
In real life, I live off-grid on a small ranch high in the Rocky Mountains, and I enjoy creating a similar rustic-agrarian, off-grid, but not necessarily "historical" vibe in my game. I also enjoy playing more primitive fantasy/tribal scenarios, often involving the occults. So, I've gathered a collection of CC, worlds, and useful mods over the last few years to suit all of those purposes, and I thought I'd set up this archive for my own backup purposes as well as for other players who might be interested in the style, too. Basically...
Uh just a bunch of stuff I converted and/or edited for my own game and thought about sharing / General note: everything is under 1k poly, with a few exceptions such as the ranger station and the ski lift/cablecar which are 1,4k poly.
All info is under read more (;
>DOWNLOAD< (patreon but free)
>Chairlift, pole/wire & Ski Lift (aka cablecar)
All of these are enabled to show up in edit town's catalog but also in CAW's object catalog tho personally I find it easier to place them in Create a World as you can freely move things around. / The chairlift itself is functional as a bench as long as sims can access it (aka if something is blocking it they won't be able to use it but if you move it up with omsp or CAW's tools, it will remain functional), the other two items are decorative and found in sculptures. / Note: the chairlift is not perfect, has a few transparency issues around the poles that go up and sims don't fit perfectly in one side of the chairlift, but looks good anyways (; / Recommended to use with >this< pole thingy converted by Sandy aka @aroundthesims <3
>Tourist & Fisher Boat(s)
Also found in edit town and CAW's catalog, otherwise find them under decor>sculptures. / Not much more to say about these, except that texture looks blurry even tho I didn't edit it at all. / Oh and you technically can't place these over water as they won't float, but omsp should do the trick (;
>Sturdy Ranch Fireplace
Kind of recolorable and functional, found under fireplaces
>Rustic Entrance & Park Sign & Ranger Station
More decorative stuff, also enabled for CAW and edit town.
>Nowhere Left To Hide Chair & Cormac Pine Bench & Gazebo
Bench and chair are functional, both are recolorable but the bench pillows not so much (sorry :p). Gazebo (don't know what its ts4 name was) is decorative and fully recolorable (;
Aaaand that's it, for now. I'll convert a few other thingies but as of now this is all I've got (;
This is yet another of Sugar's Legacy Stables's equestrian worlds for which there is little-to-no information and/or pictures on the internets and for which I am therefore making a proper sort of post for it. Because this world, while pretty weird, is also kind of awesome.
It's billed as a "native" equestrian world, and according to this cool Ojibwe language dictionary, with audio by native speakers, that I found online, it means "on the other side of the mountain/hill" and is pronounced uh-wahss-uh-CHOO, with the ending kind of sounding like a quiet sneeze. It is large, roadless, has very few lots pre-placed (like 17 of them), and it has minimal decoration and only a bit of water. I have no idea if the creator intended to add more lots and/or decoration, but as it is, it looks mostly like a barren desert where, frankly, very few humans in the real world -- native or otherwise -- live or have ever lived. I think it looks more like an alien world, and I plan to remove all the greenery and pre-placed lots and, indeed, play it as just that. More on that, maybe, in a different post elsewhere. (If you'd like to see this world with alien lighting, check out this post.)
ANYWAY! This post contains pictures of version 3 of this world, and the original sims3pack download for it is located in this folder. However, I have also uploaded a .world-format file as a backup here, in case that folder disappears and/or you would rather not deal with the Launcher. The original download includes two other files in the sims3pack, both apparently deco barn buildings. I didn't include those in the .world file, and that is the file that I loaded up to take pics of the place. If you download that file, it goes in your install files under GameData > Shared > NonPackaged > Worlds.
More info about and pics of the world behind the cut.
As I said, this world doesn't have much in the way of lots. This is the area with the most lots:
Frankly, I'm really not sure what you're supposed to do with this. It's supposed to be a "native" world, so you wouldn't build/place modern horse facilities there. I guess you could build tribal lots? Maybe? I dunno... All I know is the densely-packed trees are quite out of place. :)
Then there are these lots on one edge of the map. They are contiguous 64x64 lots, up on a little rise, so if I was going to do a tribal settlement, that's where I'd put it, I think.
And then there's this:
This area is the part of the world that looks "settled" by people with no sense in their head. Or at least like it had been settled at some point, but everyone died because they had no sense in their heads. It has deco farm buildings, and fences, and a ploughed field with hay bales. And there's that train butting up against one of the lots, so I'm betting that's meant to be a train station. The other two? Dunno. And I don't much care, either, because if I use this world, I'm going alien on its ass.
Because, I mean, look at this shit:
If that's not wilderness on freakin' Vulcan (or maybe Mars, for non-Star Trek fans), I don't know what is.
The world is beautifully terrain painted, so it's kind of a crime to cover it up with greenery, IMO. It needs rocks desperately, but greenery? Nah. It's big, definitely 2048x2048, and sims can literally go anywhere in it. Strip out the greenery and farm-y deco and, BOOM! It's a desert biome in Rimworld, only in TS3. It even has a crashed space ship piece, for cryin' out loud. LOL
But, if you do want to use it as a desert frontier where you can play out all your "Cowboys and Indians" fantasies, there's also scenery like this:
So, yeah, it's pretty flexible. I guess. Though to play it as a "real," functioning world, you'd probably need to add lots. Fortunately, since the entire world is routable, you can put lots literally anywhere. Even on those craggy peaks in the distance.
I think the only EPs this is going to need are World Adventures (for fish spawners), Pets, and Into the Future (for the crashed spaceship shell). It could need others, though. I kind of suck at knowing what came with what EP, especially when it comes to trees and other landscape stuff.
The world has limited spawners, also. It has a bunch of seed spawners, but only in the ploughed field with hay bales that you can see in the pics. It has fish spawners, including the WA ones, in the bits of water in the world. It has a few gem/metal spawners around an area that looks like an abandoned mining settlement. And it generates minor pets, though it only generated one or two of each type in the entire world while I was taking pics. It needs more lizards. AND MOAR SNEKS! And no freakin' parrots. Oh, and it has fireflies but no other insects generated while I was in the world. And it doesn't have just a few fireflies. No, it has lots of fireflies:
Which is weird because there are no fireflies in the deserts of the American West, at least not that I've ever seen. It's far too dry for them. They're more of an east-of-the-Mississippi thing. But there they are, regardless. They're all in the tree'd area in the first Edit Town pic above. I'd buy it more if they were near the water in the "settled" part, but...whatever. That said, they can make perfect sense in an alien world! See multiple episodes of various Stargate series for proof! LOL
And that's about all I have to say about this one. Its scenery is stark but beautiful, at least IMO because I'm a desert girl down to my bones. And, to me, it's a good world to do weirdness in, which makes it awesome as far as I'm concerned. But to more "normal" players, it might not have any value at all. Either way...Well, there it is.
We'll finish off with this:
Yep, the world has a horned demon face on it. I find it hard to believe that that was accidental. But maybe it was.
I don’t see why small birds shouldn’t be allowed to sit on a tree. This mod adds a second bird tree to buy mode, working as a cage. Geostates on the foodbowls are working, but you have to check the interactions to see if the hypothetical door is open or closed.
To uninstall, simply delete the package, and I recommend to clear caches as well. Next time you load the game, you’ll find your little bird in a normal bird tree, but once you take it out, the tree will revert to being for large birds only.

2. Singing Spot (requires Showtime)
A rug that works as a karaoke machine. Sims stand a bit off-footprint. You can see me using it here.

3. Woodfire TV
Some logs working as a television - inspired by Sandy’s attention catchers, and having the same drawbacks. They’re meant to be placed in a fireplace so the family can gather round the fire and talk. The logs can be shifted up and down the wall, but “MoveObjects on” is needed to put them into the fireplace. I recommend placing the fireplace first, doing it the other way round tends to crash my game. Take Care: The fireplace ought to be upgraded fireproof (either manually or with Debug Enabler) otherwise there’s risk of the false logs catching fire.
In combination with this mod, Sims can also “think out” new recipes while watching the fire.

☀ i converted these rugs from ts2/castaway stories into ts3
☀ there are 6 swatches
☀ and they’re found under… yep you guessed it! statues. because i forgot to put them under rugs
Perfect for tribal scenarios, of course, but the plainer presets will work for a more rustic setting in any era.
Also, I fixed the categorization of these for my own game, so that they properly appear in the rug category rather than in sculptures. I uploaded that file here, if you'd rather have that. That's only available in .package format, though.
Because Sims Castaway made me yearn for a combination...
Reblogging this set mostly for the sand hopscotch, which is great for beaches in any era, but especially for the rock with water in it that functions as a mirror. It's hard to find a mirror (for Charisma-building) that doesn't involve glass.
But, the toilets and shower might be useful if for some reason you don't want to use the One With Nature mod.
Now you can play a primitive/tribal/castaway scenario without having to have "alternative" toilets, showers, beds, etc. Sims can just pee on the ground! Imagine that! They can also sponge-bathe in any ocean/pond/lake! They can just sleep on the ground! And they can just relax and daydream sitting on the ground. This is an invaluable mod for any more primitive scenario.
A few of the items in this set are useful for primitive/tribal scenarios, particularly if you're using a tropical environment, but the deco items will work for any environment.
The leaf hammock between palm trees functions as a couch, so if you have a mod that allows sims to sleep (not just nap) on couches, it can be used more as a bed, too.
The lean-to makes a sim sleeping in a bedroll or just on the ground look a little less exposed, though it doesn't have any functionality.
Fire pits are always useful, though IMO the texture on the pig roast part of this one leaves a bit to be desired. These are very old objects, though, so....
The deco spear and dead fish are useful if you're into detailed decorating like that.
A chonky and perfectly rustic bedroom set. Unfortunately, it's on T$R. In two separate downloads. And I hate T$R. With a passion. But, if you can tolerate their nonsense, here are the T$R links:
The bed, table, lamp, storage bench (which is a table, not a bench that can be sat upon), curtain, end table, pillows, bedspread, and paintings are here.
The dresser with mirror and various deco bits are here.
Or, because I'm a T$R-hating bee-yotch who doesn't want to make anyone go through T$R's unnecessarily obnoxious and ad-laden downloading process twice, here's both sets in one folder, all converted to .package files because pie knows I wouldn't install sims3packs downloaded from T$R even if I used sims3packs.
This amazing set has a ton of stuff that I use in every primitive/tribal scenario I play. The hut! The sculpting station! The campfire! The magic radio tree! The kids' toys, especially the sand pile dollhouse! The trash pile!
Basically, if you play a primitive/tribal scenario, you need all this stuff.
This is another world made by Sugar's Legacy Stables. The original download is available in this SFS folder, or I have uploaded a .world file here, just in case the SFS folder disappears. If you want to use the .world file, you just dump it in your install files under GameData > Shared > NonPackaged > Worlds. No need to install via the Launcher.
The sims3pack for the world does include a single file besides the world. It's for a shell building, apparently. I have no idea why that might be. Perhaps it's one of those "sticky" files that get packaged when sims3packs are made whether or not it's used in the item being packaged. Whatever the case, I did not include it in the .world file that I uploaded, so that might be the safer file to use unless you de-sims3pack the original file yourself.
This is a large world, probably 2048x2048. It has a little military base area, complete with the rabbithole and space shuttle launch pad. It has two complete diving lots, both EA. It has one lot on a riding trail with jumps for horses, a BBQ, a dumpster, and seating, plus a little playground for kids. Other than that it's empty. About 3/4 of it is fully decorated. It's very heavily wooded with mostly evergreens, enough that it might be laggy when the world is actually built and populated. It has a shit-ton of waterfalls scattered throughout the world. It is an equestrian world, though a bit of an odd one. More about that behind the cut.
I wasn't able to find much info about this world, other than a blurb saying that it requires all EPs, but I have no idea when that blurb was written. I didn't see anything from Into the Future, so I suspect it only needs up to Island Paradise. It doesn't have any items from stuff packs or the Store.
OK, more info and a lot more pics behind the cut.
As I said, it's an equestrian world, but a bit weird. It has a very long, winding riding trail that runs the entire length of one side of the world and which has eight large community lots placed on it. One of them -- the first one, if you start at the end that connects to the residential area -- is fully "furnished" while the others are empty. Here's a couple of pics of the "furnished" one:
What this world doesn't have is a pre-placed block of contiguous 64x64 lots, meant to be used to build/place a large horse complex. It does have this area at one end of the riding trail:
That paved area is big enough for 12 64x64 lots, but none are pre-placed there. To the left of that paved area is 3 64x64 lots scattered across a fairly large area, all designated as community. So I'm thinking this is where the horse complex is supposed to be, but you'd probably have difficulty placing contiguous lots there in World Editor. I guess it would be doable in CAW, though.
So, those are the equestrian aspects. Moving on to the "normal" aspects of the world.
This is the area meant for building a large city. Off to the left of that area, we have a little "military base" area:
And to the right of the city is the residential area:
It has a good number of lots and most of them are larger. Two of them are 64x64 and most of the rest are 50x50 or 40x40 with a few smaller ones. So, good for building/placing farms or larger houses.
The rest of the world is scenery, basically. As I said, there are a shit-ton of waterfalls here, some with picnicking facilities nearby, like so:
And that, believe it or not, is not all of them. The world also has a few little areas tucked away amongst the trees where you could have your sims camp with sleeping bags or tents or whatever.
Here is where they can perform arcane rituals.
Here is where they can dance naked around a bonfire.
Here is where they can....take seasonal pictures?
And here is where they can burn heretics.
The world does have all spawners, including the WA fish ones, and they are well-distributed throughout the world. That said...well....
I have no idea why there are twelve fish spawners on a lot with no water in the city area of the world. (Never mind the city hall. That isn't included in the world. I just put it in there so I can use Traveler to force the spawners to spawn.)
And that's all I have! I'll finish off with pics from around the world's coastline.
This object was inspired by karjohbla on MTS and their search for a multi-functional oven. I’m afraid the pizza- and baking oven use too specific animations to be easily combinable with the regular one. But I had this idea how to add jam-making functionality with a decorative object. I added script and rig to it, so animations will work correctly.
These kitchen-gloves are converted from Sims 2 Seasons. Included are two versions, one decorative and one that works as an “invisible” canning station.
The store’s canning station is required for the functional gloves to work. It also works with Butterbot’s mod in addition (which I very much recommend!).
The canning-station gloves are found under “Appliances/Large” or “Kitchen/Stoves” (where the original canning station is, too) at 30§.
The pot does sink into the stove a little (as you see above it’s not standing on the stove-plate, but in it, but looks convincing enough).
The decorative gloves have no special requirements and are found under “Decor/Wall-Art” at 30§.
Both versions have a preset with the ts2-overlay and a recolourable preset.

Known issue: If you also use any custom stoves made by me, there may be a routing conflict. There’s some footprint overwrite with stoves from the same creator (i.e. me ;) that will disable the gloves from being used over stoves at all. To solve this, make sure the gloves are in the overwriting position. You can either merge them into the same package as the stove, making sure you import the gloves as the last item. Or you can place them separately in the Overrides folder. Sorry for the inconvenience!
New (May 5th 2019): Included are also the spice-rack and dried herbs from ts2, with the same canning functionality as the gloves.
Want your sims to be able to preserve their extra produce at their regular stove rather than having to find room for the canning station from the Store? Here's your solution!
This is a great option for non-electrical scenarios where you still want sims to do laundry. It also eats some time since the sims have to actually wash the clothes, not just dump them in a machine and walk away.

♥ Happy simming with your pets ♥
Are you tired of those annoying birds, rodents and reptiles roaming around in your sims' gardens and tormenting their fingers
I do hunting in a few different ways in my rustic and tribal saves. This is one of them.
This mod is also nice, though, because it also includes foraging. You can have your sims go off and collect wild-growing mushrooms, find and harvest wild harvestable plants, and also collect eggs from spots where birds have spawned in the world, all without having to micromanage the foraging sim. Very useful!
