one of the funniest things about elden ring is that varré almost immediately says several things that would lead to widespread fandom mischaracterisation as some sort of sexpervert for any other character, so the clever player will notice this and not be led astray by that impulse. they will not make assumptions

and then several hours later the game stops to single him out by name like "no, varré is definitely a horrible pervert. he's like one of the most exceptional perverts to ever live. other freaks went insane and died doing what he thinks is kinda fun. varré is genuinely not normal."

"varré isn't calling you a virgin when he says you're maidenless. that line is being taken out of context" true! also the term he's using is translated directly as miko in the japanese script, so he probably didn't mean much by it
