wait, is that FROY GUTIERREZ strolling down ocean drive? oh nevermind, that’s just RAFAEL, the SEVENTEEN year old CIS MALE from the RODRIGUEZ family. i heard on the beach that people call them IMPISH and UNRULY but i think they’re GREGARIOUS and DAUNTLESS. someone said that HE'S BEEN SUFFERING THE SYMPTOMS OF AN UNDIAGNOSED HEART CONDITION, but who knows? hopefully, HIS family doesn’t find out.
now introducing rafael rodriguez, or as he prefers -- rafa! he’s seventeen and a high school junior.
he is curious and enthusiastic and just hates routine. he’s your typical teenager with too much to do and not enough time.
usually, he’s the kind to always try to have a good time, this one just loves life. he doesn’t let a lot get to him ( really he’s just a pro at ignoring problems ).
he is a little bit of a nerd who loves video games and comic books and you can also find him skateboarding his way around town.
rafa doesn’t take many things seriously – himself included. but that’s mostly a defense mechanism because he does not want to deal with responsibilities or anything too seriously.
he has a loud personality and if you see him quiet and alone it means something is wrong. but it also means that you probably won’t get him to say what’s bothering him.
he’s super friendly and outgoing and is usually spotted smiling. rafa likes to keep everyone around him comfortable and happy. it’s sort of his hidden talent, make light of tense situations. he wants to enjoy himself but he wants those around him to enjoy themselves too.
he has an optimistic view of life and is very resilient. but it also means that he bottles up a lot and keeps a lot of things to himself because he doesn’t want to bother anyone else or bring any negativity to them.
and that’s exactly why he’s keeping his secret from his family. so, for a couple of months now he has been feeling shortness of breath, and chest pains when he’s playing sports or even just skateboarding ( things he didn’t use to feel ), but in true rafa fashion he is acting as if it’s nothing and hasn’t told anyone. ( he actually has an undiagnosed heart condition, so maybe in the future, he could pass out and that could be how his secret comes out??? ).
