“I’m doing....an okay job, right?” Winnie asked. She was never one to need much reassurance, but this was an exception. “I know no one really needs a leader anymore, we’ve been doing this for so long that we’re all fine on our own, but I’m not completely screwing it up, right?”

“Positive. Why are you thanking me?”

“kay, so i was right. fake title.”
“There are real leaders out there. Just not me. Ask Sara or Jenny or someone who’s actually been leading for a while.”

“no, but i could replace bidam. i’m a good rapper, and i have the body for it,” hyo told her seriously. “that sounds fake, and also you sound fake and wrong because you have friends. no self pity party in this neck of the woods, my dude.”
“That means you’d have to be the leader, you know.” She sighed, shrugging. “Not fake. Wish it was, though. Outside my group, I have one friend that I can think of. Or, two, I guess, now that Bidam isn’t part of the group anymore. Is it a pity party if it’s true?”

“i could never be a leader,” he murmured, shaking his head. “even just a figurehead leader for show. too much pressure. i mess up too much.”
“So you don’t wanna switch places with me?” she asked, trying to joke about the whole situation. “Me too. I don’t show it, but I do. Why do you think I don’t have any friends? I guess that’s why they chose me. No potential interference from the personal life I don’t have.”

“yeah but a lot has happened to your group recently,” bomi pointed out. “i just…don’t want to be in the way.”
“And it’s been handled,” she answered automatically. “I don’t.... I’m sick of hearing about all the changes, okay? I didn’t want to be the leader but I’m doing it for the group, and that’s all there is to the story. There’s nothing left to talk about. You won’t be in the way. I’m really glad you’re rooming with us, okay?”

“I put in the request because I wanted to room with you. I’ve been living with her for nearly a decade. I’m pretty sure we’ve talked about all the things we needed to talk about already. It’s not weird, Bomi.”

“Okay, so you’re the new leader…….. is it better or worse having your first leadering happening on tour?” Hyo asked, curling into a little ball. “Like……would you rather have had a comeback first so you could leader trial-and-error first?” @rvwinnie
“That’s me, the new leader,” she mumbled, mirroring his position. “I feel like this is leader trial-and-error. People are only focused on us for a little while at a time. If we had a comeback first.... It could’ve gone badly. At least now, I get to- I don’t know, watch everyone else and see what they do to be a good leader? I’m just glad this didn’t happen earlier. We’re already well on our way to being a decade old, I feel like I’m more of a figurehead than someone really in charge.”

“Okay, okay, I will - first, maybe just take a deep breath. I know it seems stressful, but it’s not that bad,” He remarked. “Think about it like this, would you rather live in the country or in the city? And would you rather life in an actual house or an apartment?” Having driven Sparkle to all kinds of places, Seunghyuk knew quite a bit about different areas - maybe not where exactly they would find places to look at, but at least enough to get a general idea of what towns she might like based on what she was looking for.
She did what he suggested, though it only eased her nerves a little. “It’s that bad. I’ve been under the care of Radioactive since I was a teenager. I don’t know how to do things like this for myself yet.” The drumming of her fingers continued as she thought. “I have to stay close to Radioactive for work, so even if I thought I wanted a house, I’d be shit out of luck. I don’t know, I want a big enough place so that I can decorate however I want, but not so big that it feels....empty. You know I’m lonely enough as it is,” she mumbled. Winnie didn’t like talking about her insecurities or showing her weaknesses, but she felt comfortable enough with him that she could let herself mention it.
