Honestly I’ve been at a loss for words to describe how I feel about our first wedding anniversary. Last summer I would spend my lunch hour during work shooting a roll of 35mm film. I didn’t always work through all 24-36 frames but there was always images that surprised me. In preparation for being on the volunteer photo team for Treefort I pushed myself to one: take more than 24 exposures during a show (i managed 5 rolls) and two: work in low lighting but pushing 2+ stops in development which I had only done once before. The results were pretty mixed. Some images work better because the stage lighting was brighter at time but mostly 2 stops too dark. The two lenses I used (28-70 & 70-210) only stop down to 3.5 so I was limited in that aspect. Even though the images are mostly very underexposed I feel like I could work with some of them by blocking up the shadows after scanning. This is a nice technique when at the limits of my gear but not what I’d like to see ideally. For Treefort I’ll mainly be shooting my Fuji xt2 and will have plenty of room for higher iso and faster lenses so these lighting situations won’t be a big issue. #nikonn90 #35mm #film #ektachromep1600 #expiredfilm #porches #boise #idaho #E6 (at Boise, Idaho)

A while back like maybe even two/three weeks ago a did a little obscure video about this new scanner my spouse and I saved up to buy. Since then I’ve been struggling to get it running until a few days ago. The Noritsu ls600 is fully operational and blowing my expectations out of the water. The scans are almost immaculate directly out of the scanner, very minimal dust/clone stamping to do. So since this event my love and passion for 35mm film is back in full swing. This first image was taken a very long time ago but was recently scanned from the depths of my 35mm archive. Definitely overlooked multiple times but now one of my favorites. Since my recent 35mm revival I made some images at the recent Porches show. I’m not big on or practiced at concert photography but since Treefort is coming up I thought I’d try to get some practice. Also shot on some expired Ektachrome P1600 which was designed as a push/pull slide film. I shot all three rolls at 6400. Also also I have been really enjoying Fuji x-tra 400 so I thought I’d try pushing one roll to 3200 and another at 6400 just to test the limits.
