haha it was shuichi’s birthday like... two days ago...

I think about how upset Kokichi was about people feeling bad for gonta at his trial all the time

Cuz it’s like... Gonta did kill Miu. Like. He did. There was a gonta in the virtual world who Kokichi got to kill Miu just by showing him the end of the world. And that guy who made that decision was Gonta and I feel like Kokichi is the only person who like. Really really knew that. Cuz he was there for it and he saw Gonta make the decision to help him.

Like, i feel like from Kokichi’s perspective it was like getting rid of two murderers at once. Miu was going to kill him anyway and Gonta would kill someone with just one push

It really like. Speaks to Kokichi’s character. Like when Kaito called him idealistic he was right. Like in his mind a murderer is a murderer and there isn’t nuance or extenuating circumstances.

And like when everyone was saying that gonta wouldn’t kill someone... they were just wrong. Straight up wrong and Kokichi had seen the proof.

And when he thought gonta was lying he was like. Actually mad. Because he was getting away with it even though he wasn’t supposed to and no one would believe it was him.

But then when Gonta didn’t remember anything Kokichi had to confront the fact that, like, it really was just more complicated than that. That his moralistic way of viewing things just didn’t add up with reality anymore and even though he knew that gonta would kill if pushed the gonta who was executed hadn’t made that choice yet.

Like i feel like that’s when Kokichi realized that he really was the bad guy. Like when he couldn’t think of something to say back to Shuichi, like, that was real. And then that’s why he went forward full throttle with the “I’m the mastermind” schtick after that.
