My friend Lu does not care for "art selfies" whereas I really do not mind them, as long as they don't get in the way of anyone else enjoying said art. At least they improve on the regular selfie.

I think this practice creates a shadow on her because she is a published photographer and several of her pictures, currently exhibited at Praxis Gallery in Chelsea, NY, involve people standing in front of other people's art... In fact she had to abstain from exhibiting an excellent portrait taken in front of a big Sol LeWitt piece at the MoMA.

Selfies can easily bring out the shadow in people, and so can art.
