âThat sounds like hell on Earth. â But at that age, it probably sounds like heaven on Earth. You just get to sit around and play with kids, get on a plane, get off, then play with kids again until youâre picked up by someone? Seems like a dream to kid me.â She laughed, taking note of the necklace. âThat necklace is really pretty, by the way. â Howâd you get it?â When asking about jewelry and other expensive items, she always asked how instead of where, because often times, things like that came with a story, and that story was always more intriguing than the place where they got it from. âGood thing you were raised by your mom then?â Madison replied, uncertain of her words, and waiting for the other woman to correct her. âYeah⌠Itâs not great. And itâs such a weird blend of stuff, because sometimes sheâs very relaxed and âdo whatever you want because youâre still copingâ, but other times sheâs very âyouâre gonna do what I say because I know best.â and itâs almost a crap shoot when Iâm trying to figure out what mode sheâs in during any given day. So I mostly just assume itâs the relaxed, until she basically kicks me out of the house.â Madison explained before adding. âItâs important to note though, that um⌠Sheâs still really nice when she kicks me out and makes me get out of bed. Sheâs a sweet woman all the time, which is actually what makes it so difficult.â Madison wasnât sure why she was still talking about this to the stranger. She knew she didnât particularly care. She was probably just saying it for herself. âTheyâd probably make my accident something actually worth talking about.â She added onto the womanâs argument. It was morbid, but also true. The odds that the writers for her âmovieâ would allow her accident to be the one played out in the film? It didnât seem possible in her mind. âI get it. I acted too. â Before, anyways. Kinda let that go for right now.â Madison admitted, a small frown on her face. âWhich do I follow? Fuck thatâs a loaded question. I donât think I really follow any of the social norms. â Not intentionally anyways. Iâm gay, Iâm unemployed, Iâm not going to post secondary, I donât driveâŚ. I could go on about the ones I donât follow. â
âA bunch of tired kids waiting for their flights in one room doesnât sound like such a great idea to me. I mean unless itâs anything like the movie, where they just run around the entire airport and mess around and make it Christmas for this one kidâs little sister, which I thought was very sweet. It warmed my heart, anyway.â Sabrina always loved to see Christmas movies, mostly because she didnât celebrate it. She showed the little star to her, âMy dad brought it back from Colorado or North Carolina. Or maybe it was South Dakota. But anyway, he gave it to me when he came back for my birthday. I have it to remember him by.â Sabrina nodded, but didnât say much else on the comment about her mother raising her. It was too long winded to explain that her mother raised her, and her father wasnât around much but she never resented him for it. He also died when she was young, which was another thing she didnât like to bring up. âI totally get that. My mom and I would sometimes go days when I could disappear for most of the day, and then one day, randomly, sheâd get strict and ask me to stay home and not let me out for a week. Well, itâs the opposite, but you know what I mean.â She laughed a little at the idea of it, though, mostly because she could imagine all the actresses and would fight tooth and nail for the role, only for them to pick someone that was already famous and looked nothing like what they asked for, but instead, they had them dye their hair and be nominated for an Oscar. âHonestly, theyâll probably add tons of music to it and then add a little fire the actress playing you will inexplicably not be damaged by. Even if a fire wouldnât make sense. Then sheâll be up for an Oscar sheâll lose to an older actress who wasnât necessarily better, but was due.â Unsure of what to say about that, Sabrina twirled her necklace once more, before saying, âWell, itâs very draining on top of everything. I think everyone puts it on the back burner for their own sake every once in a while.â She didnât know how true that was. Sheâd been steadily working for a long time, maybe not in movies or shows, but she always had a commercial or two lined up for as long as sheâd been acting, so she didnât know how to quit. âProps to you, youâre a cocktail of the unordinary. But itâs not a bad thing.âÂ
