this blog is clearly very dead so I don't know if you'll even get this but what do you think of the revamped deer art? and also the territory/gathering/battling updates?

I still follow the clanheart tumblr, but I don’t think I’ll be playing until it opens (if I do). The new deer art looks better drawn, but I don’t really care for the style. I am not a fan of the huge neck fluffs, ear fluff, etc, and I feel like something’s just off? I can’t put my finger on it. Same with most the other breeds, the cats are WAY too fluffy for my liking, I was hoping for more lithe cats/deer. Regardless, I appreciate the fact that they are updating the art at all, better now than be unable to later. It does look better than the old bases, I’m just nitpicking :P

As for the other updates, I haven’t really looked into them? Since I mostly just follow the tumblr, I only see the art updates. I knew they were updating it, that’s pretty much it. I logged into the site to check, seems territory is down right now. Idk, maybe I’ll look into it. x3 

I was really enjoying world building for my clan, but I don’t want to get too into it while the site’s only in alpha. Bear + Tai might return later, but for now I’m focusing on my FR lore/arts.

Drew the random deer I’ve picked up. Kaya was my random adult, Styxx + Naana were from gathering, while Smog + Prim are from breeding. 

Oops got attached to Kaya I guess I’ll have to make a similar deer when it actually opens

Hmm I added a dye to one of my antlered shamans, it applied the baby dye instead of the shaman one, and then when I removed it my shaman lost it’s antlers. To the bug forums I guess

Oof I tried to make my alpha thirty minutes ago and it said it didn’t exist in my clan page, yet the alpha creation page said I already made it. A few people had the same issue so I assume that’s why it’s down for the moment.

Refined Sketch + Block colors to test that I actually hid the entire deer base underneath. Next up is the inking, which I’ll have to do later. 

I’m pretty excited to bring my chars to life for when the game starts :>

when clanheart gets up and running would you consider doing bear commissions? like if you end up getting a base for the bear ones, would you do it? just wondering bc i am in love

Hmm, if I’m not busy when clanheart comes up I think I could definitely do some bear base commissions! Could be fun making them for other bases, so long as I learn how to do the blendy-shading that clanheart uses (I’m more of a flat shader myself, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out!)

If I do, I’ll definitely post about it on my tumblr for those that may be interested :)

Four sketches later, I have finally found a way to cover the deer lineart with a bear. I tried a sitting bear, and a couple standing-normal bears... those deer legs were a PAIN... so hard to cover with a bear whose limbs are farther apart.

But hey, now that I have something I can actually start working on it. :D

Pssst. I have a few questions. Do you have commissions? I was wondering if you could do the animal form of some of some of my characters, if at all possible. You will, of course, be paid, but it might take me a bit to work up the money.

Sorry, I saw this message on my mobile and forgot to answer it when I finally got the comp. 

I don’t actually do commissions right now, I’m not sure how to price my art since I haven’t done them before. I only do petsite-currency commissions right now. Maybe someday I will do real commissions but I couldn’t tell you when :C sorry!

Wip for the story of how bear came to join the alpha. I’ve written a good deal of it, but probably won’t post anything till monday. Sunday is my bfs only day off work so I’m typically not around much.

But as a side note, I really enjoy lore building with clanheart animals. It’s a lot more fun for me to draw bears, deer, porcupines and other northern-foresty animals than it is to draw dragons (from FR), so I’ve felt pretty inspired. Meanwhile my fr lore is pretty much a bunch of pretty dragons living together doing stuff? Yep it’s pretty intense. Idk, I’m just rambling, but every once in awhile something comes along and inspires you, and this time it’s ch :)

Bear’s greatest quality is his fierce loyalty. Anyone threatens the herd, they will have Bear to answer to.

Bear already got an update. He first met the alpha as a small cub, but in the present he’s an adult so I drew him as such. I much prefer this anyways :> 

Pssst the scars are from his mother and have to do with how he met the alpha. To be written when I’m less lazzzzzy.

Quill is not amused

In other words, I won’t be drawing many deer besides my alpha until the site actually opens since I’d like to obtain herd members first so ik what they will look like and such. So for now it’ll be Alpha, Quill, and Bear. Oh, and unnamed deer that is harrassing Quill lol.

Anddd the other non-deer member, Quill the porcupine. Quill didn’t have a name so the herd just named him after his quills, cause they are super original deer. Some nickname him “pin-cushion” much to Quill’s dismay. Quill is a weaver, and seeing as he lives with a bunch of hooved animals, he is the only weaver. But, he gladly clothes the deer in exchange for his place in the herd.

I’m not sure how I’ll do it (rp a simple bear familiar, make an accessory “subspecies” bear for one of my deer, imaginary bear that doesn’t actually exist in-game) but my herd has one bear member. I do have a story for how he came to be in the group but that will come later. All I know is bears are my favorite animal and I needed one. Unnamed because wow naming my characters is hard work.
