My name is Rachel Barbra Berry and I'm a native of Saffron City in Kanto. I am twenty three years old, and I'd honestly be quite surprised if you didn't already know of me already, seeing as I'm considered to be a world-renowned Pokémon Coordinator now that I'm Kanto's Top Coordinator! Although I've been bouncing between regions over the past year or so, I've been entering as many contests as possible and hope to qualify to compete in the Grand Festival by the time that it's June. I've been travelling with my fantastic girlfriend, Quinn Fabray, for the past year!
Yes, but I’d say tolerably egotistical because it’s been a year, and I’m still here, no? Maybe, but we both know that for me the fame’s just a byproduct of what I really want. When I’m doing my thing, I feel like I’m just Quinn Fabray, Pokemon Champion. And maybe I can just fool myself for into thinking that the photographers are really just following you. The interviews will just be about you too, and I’ll play the doting girlfriend. We all know you’re going to love it, sweetie. Just enjoy it.

I'll accept that compromise. Oh hush, we both know that you'll love the limelight as much as I do and will once my and our fame reach their peak. You're the Joanne to my Maureen - you don't think you'll like attention until you receive it. Then we can share the spotlight and be the most famous - and arguably the cutest - couple in Kanto. Being the Pokémon Champion and the Top Coordinator will just add 'endlessly talented and powerful' to that list.
Right back at you, Ent. I know it's been a year and a half, but I'm still a little disappointed that you didn't actually turn out to be a tree monster in disguise. You can do it! And when you knock him back to the region of douchebaggery that he's presumably been living in since we last saw him, I can gloat about how my girlfriend's better than everyone else's. We both know that if I made you give bacon up, you'd inevitably just wither away.

Quinn:
Still resting atop of her girlfriend, Quinn smirked and nuzzled her face into Rachel’s neck, and nipped gently at her pulse point. “Maybe. But someone’s got to be. You’re always moving so fast, sweetie so someone’s got to be right up there with you. I’m personally glad that person’s me.” As she spoke, Quinn slowly began to trail a hand down Rachel’s side, her fingertips ghosting along any trace of bare skin she could find. “I do, don’t I? But you love it and you love me.”
There was no doubt about it. Rachel was her soulmate and Quinn never wanted to be with anyone else. She’d gone through so much, dated people she thought had been right for her, and then when she’d expected it least, a tiny gorgeous little brunette had entered her life and even though she hadn’t wanted to admit it at the time, she’d known from the very beginning that Rachel was going to end up being a big part of her life. It had just taken her awhile to realise what kind of role she wanted the brunette to play. But when she thought back to the first time they’d met, and the way they’d clicked like two old souls reuniting, maybe she’d known all along where life would take them.
Wrapping her arms tightly around Rachel’s waist, Quinn scooted over so that she was spooning her side. “You hungry, Rach? Want me to make breakfast, or get you some MooMoo milk? We’ve got a long day ahead of us, and I know you’ll want to do pretty much everything that I have planned.” She teased, knowing how enthusiastic Rachel was about her birthday. Quinn had only ever gotten to celebrate the one birthday with her so far, but she was already planning to make this one infinitely better than the last one.
Rachel:
Rachel scrunched her nose up and giggled for a few moments as soon as she felt her girlfriend's lips at her neck, her hand winding into the blonde girl's hair as she responded to her. “I'm glad that person's you, too. But I'm even happier that I get to be your person.” She continued, her body shifting to gravitate towards Quinn's as she attempted to resist the urge to lean over and kiss her girlfriend. It had been a year and she was still as lovestruck as ever - although a little part of Rachel feared that someday, things would turn sour, she chose to believe that regardless of what happened, she and Quinn would always find their way back to one another - that's what made them soulmates.
"Now I'm not so sure." Despite mockingly implying that she was doubting her love for Quinn, her smile betrayed her words even more than her affectionate tone of voice did. "I mean, you are awfully mean to me, Quinn." Pouting over at the blonde, Rachel lowered her eyelids, puffing her lower lip out mockingly as she coyly toyed with a lock of her own hair.
Practically moaning at the suggestion of MooMoo milk, the brunette's pleading eyes snapped upwards to meet Quinn's. “I'd love you forever if you did that for me. I already do but you know what I mean." She remarked, clutching at Quinn's hand as she basically begged her girlfriend to retrieve some milk for her. "A long day, hm? It had better be perfect, Fabray." Rachel lowered her voice as she teased her best friend-turned-girlfriend, knowing how much of a perfectionist Quinn was when it came to significant events in their lives.

It was rare to see Rachel in one spot for more than a couple of seconds, which was one of the reasons that Quinn loved the mornings where she woke up first and was able to take in the love of her life looking so calm and rested, before leaning in and waking her her up with a kiss. And the way Rachel always looked so happy to see her when she woke up? Yeah, Quinn would never get tired of that. Growing up, the only person that had ever wanted her around was Santana, but only Rachel made Quinn feel wanted. Even now, bleary eyed and groggy, Rachel still found a way to make Quinn feel like the only girl in the world.
Giggling at her girlfriend’s adorable self, Quinn pressed another kiss to her cheek and let Rachel pull her into herself. “Mmkay, baby,” she whispered, more than a little amused by the bed-head Rachel was sporting. Though would she point it out to the brunette? Not a chance. In public, Rachel always tried to maintain a certain appearance for her adoring fans, and despite missing the days where she could sleep in a tent and come out wearing yesterday’s clothes, Quinn went along with it too. Whatever Rachel wanted she provided. But that wasn’t to say she didn’t miss how easy going their life used to be. That was the problem with making it in the Pokemon world though. If you were good, people always paid attention, and not only were Quinn and Rachel dominating in their chosen fields, but their parents were also Gym Leaders.
Slowly, Quinn started counting in her head, her smile growing wider as Rachel shot up just as Quinn got to ten. “Morning to you too, gorgeous. And no, we’re not due in till 10am and it’s only a little past 7am.” Rolling over so that she was lightly draped over Rachel, her forearms bearing the majority of the weight, Quinn started placing a series of kisses down her girlfriend’s neck. “But I know you. You hate sleeping in most days, let alone on your birthday.” At those words she pulled away slightly and kissed the tip of Rachel’s nose, and gazed lovingly down at the small brunette pinned underneath her. “Happy Birthday, Rach. I love you.”
Rachel:
Quinn was really the first person who Rachel had romantically been with who made her feel like an equal - she never felt like she was Quinn's lackey as she did with Jesse, and she never felt like she had to compete for Quinn's affections as she had to do with Sebastian. More than that though, something about her relationship with the other girl felt stable in the sense that she didn't have to second-guess Quinn's feelings for her; she was certain that Quinn would never break her heart and that wasn't a thing that Rachel could say about many people. A kiss to her cheek interrupted Rachel's mushy internal dialogue and caused her to grin up at the blonde, scrunching her nose up as she rubbed at her own eyes.
"Wanna sleep." She mumbled, letting her hands drop back down to her sides as she curled into herself, eventually realizing that she couldn;'t sleep her life away regardless of how much she thought she wanted to at the time - she'd just be angry at herself for sleeping in if she allowed herself to waste precious time. Lately it hadn't been bad by any means - just extremely busy. This was really Rachel's first break in weeks and she was fairly certain that it had been the same way for her girlfriend considering how much they had been running around to get contest ribbons and gym badges lately.
A small smile wormed its way onto Rachel's lips at Quinn's explanation, causing her to roll her eyes at the woman jokingly before batting the other girl's arm with her own hand. "You're always one step ahead of me, aren't you?" Rachel snickered as soon as she felt kisses being peppered onto her face, squirming as she giggled at the burst of affection from the blonde girl. "You know me far too well." Her smile only got wider at the birthday wishes Quinn bestowed her with. "I love you too."

Scrunching her nose up slightly as she felt a dab of pressure against her face, a small smile quirking at her lips as she tilted her head to the side. Her blurry eyesight cleared up considerably as Rachel blinked, the brunette grinning up at her girlfriend in a manner that could only be described as dopey. "Hey there." Her groggy tone of voice was one that she would usually be horrified at but in this particular case, she didn't really mind what Quinn thought of her. After all, they had been together for this long so it wasn't like they hadn't seen each other at their worsts - they were made for each other. Everything they had been through was just a testament to that.
Everything that she had worried about in the 'dark ages' prior to her relationship with Quinn becoming official seemed extremely trivial now. She distinctly remembered feeling intimidated of Santana and Zoey while her budding friendship with the blonde was still being scrutinized as well as her disastrous 'relationship' with the one person who Rachel Berry genuinely despised. Thinking of how unhappy she had been back then just made moments like this where she was laying in bed with her loving, devoted girlfriend all the more special; this was Rachel's happy ending and Quinn Fabray was her forever.
Twisting around from where she was laying in a bundle of blankets that the two girls had brought with them on the boat-trip that Quinn had insisted on taking her on (though it wasn't difficult to convince her to come along by any means), Rachel tried to curl up to Quinn, a little moan escaping her lips before her whining commenced. "Sleep with me." She mumbled, trying to tug the blonde back to her before drowsily peaking up at her girlfriend of a little over a year. In those few moments where she regained her bearings, Rachel remembered what they were doing. The girl's eyes suddenly widened as she looked over at her surroundings, remembering what they were doing before she had dozed off. "Are we there yet?!" Her voice took on an overly-enthusiastic tone as she practically bounced in her seat with anticipation.
Baby, you’re going to be the famous one. Or at least the one that’s in the spotlight. I’ll be the mysterious and aloof champion who avoids interviews and is only ever photographed when she’s on the arm of her superstar girlfriend. I’d really appreciate that though. And I don’t think you have anything to worry about. I’ve been planning this surprise since your last birthday. You’re either going to love it or hate it. Let’s hope it’s the former.

If I said 'I know' in response to that, would I sound intolerably egotistical? I think we'll both be equally as famous as one another - it's one of the many reasons for why we'll be the very definition of a 'dream team' seeing as I can already envision all of the magazine and gossip tabloid offers for us to pose for their front pages. I can practically taste our impending fame, Quinn. I'm sure I'll love it. Though now I'm debating as to whether or not I should act like I hate it purely just to mess with you.

If we're going to be famous, there are going to be a lot of people who'll want to know everything that's going on in our lives, Quinn. We have to get used to this sort of thing eventually, but I'll try to tone it down a little bit, just for you. I think that I might be able to manage that, Quinn. I can't make any promises, though. By the way, I have very high expectations for my next birthday gift. I just thought I'd let you know.
But you adore me! I hardly believe you'd be able to storm out of here without breaking down and losing your own mind a la Heathcliff post-Cathy's death. Speaking of break downs, you would not believe who just sent me a message on my Pokédex to inform me of his pending visit to Kanto...
It’s nice to see that some things never change, baby. But let’s give your poor fans a break. I’m sure they know the ins and outs of your career and if the crowd at your last competition was anything to go by, I’d say your fanbase has more than doubled since you started collecting ribbons in Kanto.
But I do wish you’d given me more notice about this party.
I really feel obligated to inform them about the happenings of my life, though - It would really be an injustice to just leave them hanging! That being said, I suppose a little hiatus might do my career some good...
On one hand, I want to take your advice since it seems like the most logical thing to do but on the other, I feel like I've consistently chosen not to take your advice in the past and you know how important upholding traditions are to me.
No pressure or anything, but I may have bragged quite a bit to my contest cohorts about how amazing our party will be. Oops?
Although I've been extremely busy with contests galore (if you haven't been keeping up with my career and still dare to call yourself a 'fan' of my work, I hope you know that you've made incredibly poor life choices and I urge you to reevaluate them as soon as you possibly can) seeing as my most recent series of contest entries in Kanto have resulted in my success skyrocketing from where I was just a year ago!
Although I've earned ribbons from Saffron City (my hometown if any fans of mine who are anxious to know more about me and my life prior to becoming a local celebrity of sorts, were wondering), Silver Town, Wisteria Town, and Chrysanthemum Island, I still need to collect one more ribbon before my entry into the Grand Festival can be made official. Considering the fact that I've managed to earn four ribbons in merely five months, I am definitely looking forward to competing at the festival itself as I am certain that I'll put up an incredible fight.
It's surreal to think that in merely seven months, I'll be competing for the title of the Top Coordinator in Kanto, but I'm certain that my team and I will not only figuratively shoot for the stars but will prove to the entire region that I'm on my way to becoming the best Top Coordinator that Kanto has ever known. While I plan to head to Gardenia Town next to win the final ribbon necessary to be eligible to compete in the festival, I am going to announce that I will be putting my trip there off for a few weeks until after my twenty-fourth birthday has come and gone for reasons pertaining to spending time with my family.
That being said, I would like to commemorate the one year anniversary of my move to Kanto! Although I'm not usually one for the 'life of the party' as many people do refer to other socialites as being, I would like to extend a formal invitation for all of my fellow competitors and friends alike to attend a brunch at my home here on Cinnabar Island! Food and beverages will be provided for every partygoer.
