Excuse me.
I trust that you make good cupcakes.
You might, but I don't trust myself. Please? I need a taste tester, and you're supposed to help me with what I need, right?

Excuse me.
I trust that you make good cupcakes.
You might, but I don't trust myself. Please? I need a taste tester, and you're supposed to help me with what I need, right?
They’re viruses that cause bone disease.
These things? That's nonsense, but because I don't know what bone disease can do, I'm not going to take my chances.
Carrot Cake.
Carrot cake? Beautiful. I had carrot cake once, but then my friend Morgan's rabbit found it and he ate the whole thing, so then we had to go bake another one for Hunter's party. It's his favorite, too.
Excuse me.
It’s really okay, Sage. My cupcakes are for everyone, regardless of their personal opinions.
I don't think mean Dauntless deserve your cupcakes. They don't make them much sweeter.
STATS
NAME: Campbell, Sage AGE: Thirteen ORIGINAL FACTION: Amity CHOSEN FACTION: N/A FACE CLAIM: Rowan Blanchard
FILE
All Sage has ever wanted to do is to make people happier. Ever since her brother, Sean, fell into a pit of depression before his transfer, Sage decided she never wanted to see anyone so unhappy again, nor did they deserve it; no matter who they were. Although her intentions are nothing but good, it’s caused for endless blame of butting into other people’s lives and many broken off friendships—she’ll admit that asking how her best friend’s mother’s new boyfriend was after their divorce was a bit intrusive, but she couldn’t help but eavesdrop when she heard the gossip from the kitchen. Despite the relationships she’s broken, Sage believes that as long as she can brighten just one person’s day, she’s done her job.
While she’s not trying to be a world-class therapist, Sage fits in perfectly in Amity. She has a knack for highlighting the hints of optimism that others would ignore, and can safely say that all life has to offer is a glass that is half full with the lemons made out of days that are just a twinge sour. When she can’t talk herself out of her days when the clouds block her seemingly eternal sunshine, Sage finds solace in her art, particularly the simple kind; a pencil and a blank sheet of paper is all she needs to create. While she certainly isn’t as brave as Sean and isn’t as confused as Hunter, Sage doesn’t know where she’ll end up someday, but, then again, she hasn’t put too much thought into where she’ll make her permanent home. Amity has always been home for her, and she couldn’t see herself anywhere else unless the aptitude test puts her there.
APTITUDE TEST RESULTS: N/A
Although she hasn’t taken her aptitude just yet, most signs point to Sage’s results coming inconclusive; a split between honest and kind. Her home faction is where she believes she truly belongs, but it’s her big mouth that predictably splits Sage’s aptitude results in two. While it’s her bedtime that she finds trouble spitting out truthfully, it’s everything in between that she finds pouring out without her nonexistent filter holding it back. Sage values honesty almost as much as she values kindness, especially with her interest in helping others find their happiness, but it’s the brutal honesty of the Candor that would potentially hold her back from spilling her blood over the glass.
Excuse me.
I never said that Amity was good-for-nothing…. But I can’t eat this. I was going to give it to someone.
No, it wasn't you. It was that Dauntless girl over there with the other from the batch.
I can give you another and you can eat it in the bathroom or something if you'd like. I mean, sharing is great, but you have to taste test first. What if these taste like rotten Amity bread and then you'll wind up giving it to someone?
..Maybe she does. I’ll think about it, Sage.
You let me know what happens if you talk to her, and I'm also going to need your favorite cake flavor so I can go get help from this baking goddess we have in the faction.
Excuse me.
[puts hers hands on Sage’s shoulders, talking quietly] Sage, it’s okay…
Shh, Maya. I got this. No one's going to eat your cupcakes and then call us worthless and I would think of a name to call them but that would disrupt the peace and all I know is rotten bread because that's what Sean used to call me.
Excuse me.
You cannot say Amity is good-for-nothing with that cupcake in your hand.
Thanks.
I mean, yeah, but she’s not really into celebrating me anymore. My family’s never really been fond of transfers.
I bet she'd celebrate if you asked her to. She's your mom; she has to still love you. Maybe she just has a funny way of showing it.
They are far from harmless and are potentially dangerous if not handled properly. They are nothing like marshmallows.
Nonsense. I bet they are. What could these cute little things possibly do?
[leans forward to catch it and almost drops it] Whoop—got it!
You really don’t have to, sweetie, I’m used to it now.
Nice catch.
No, I want to. I think everyone should celebrate their birthday, even if it is a little selfish. Aren't you celebrating your mom, too? I mean, she did give birth to you.
Don’t touch that.
Why not? They're like cute little white marshmallows.
You know, I’m a big fan of the classics; how about an apple?
I’m eighteen, but my birthday is next month on the sixteenth. Abnegation doesn’t really celebrate birthdays, though.
I'm gonna toss it to you, so be prepared. I'm not the best thrower. Ready? [throws her the apple]
I'm going to make you a cake for your birthday because it's unfair that you guys don't get birthday cakes. I'm quite forgetful, though, so you're going to have to remind me.
Fruit would be wonderful, thanks.
Why don’t we start with how old you are.
What type of fruit? We have 'em all. I think it's an Amity thing.
I'm thirteen. Barely, I mean. My birthday was a month and four days ago. What about you?
[finishes putting everything under the sink and closes the door] Alright, I’ll stay…but only if you tell me a little more about yourself. I know about your brothers and the neighbor boy, but I know barely anything about you! It’s only fair.
Okay, fine. I'm not sure what else you want to know, but if that's what it takes. Is there anything you'd like? We have bread, I think some fruit--we always have fruit--and...more bread, probably.
