Export Mac Mail to PST File Easily!
You too can export Mac Mail to PST file like a pro, quickly and accurately. Here’s how.
I am myself being far away from becoming an expert. Therefore, when I faced with tasks like exporting Mac Mail to PST file, my hands get jammed too. Although, in the last few years, there has been few instances where my colleagues/friends and I have performed email migration together. But, I remember it all went very tediously.
So, when last week when I thought of exporting Mac Mail to PST file, I was nervous. I had no idea how to do it, or at least, how to do it easily, unlike last times. I just read the news that Outlook 2016 has been launched, and I wanted to move to Outlook for a very long time. The new 2016 version just helped me give that last push. There was one problem and that was to transfer my emails and contacts from Apple Mail.
Let me give you few points about the experience we had last time. That will give you an idea of how difficult and complicated the process is. And that will also explain you that why I was being nervous.
First of all, when you export anything from one email client to other, you are most certain to fail to do complete migration. There are many data components in Apple Mail that are hard to scan and then convert it to your output format, in this case, PST file. Your attachments, images inside email bodies, your structure of folder, properties of emails, nested messages, and such — can be lost during the transition or the conversion of files.
Other issues include -
Slow conversion, resulting in loss of time.
With many ordinary converters in the market, the biggest challenge is their confusing GUI.
No support for Non-English languages.
Read and unread emails might lose their ‘read’ status.
Conversion support for only Mbox files (not the identity folder of Apple Mail).
There are certainly many, many other complications, but these are the main ones. And these are the ones that troubled us in the past, and still trouble many users. Unlucky for all of us, even after several years of Apple Mail, there is still not a compatible solution for all levels of computer users.
Therefore, I began searching for something doable, effective, and quick solution for exporting Mac Mail to PST file.
I should explain that I was looking to convert my data to a PST file because Outlook 2016 now supports PST file as well. Where, in the past PST file was only supported by Windows Outlook versions and not Mac Outlook. But with the 2016 version, that limiting feature is a thing of the past. We could not import PST files directly into Outlook 2016 using its inbuilt import/export feature.
To cut to the point, after days of looking for a viable solution, I finally ended up with “Mail Passport Pro”. And I wouldn’t hesitate to call it a miracle, considering how challenging the job otherwise is. But thanks to the excellence and efficiency of this tool that I was able to make the transfer in no time, and that too with sharp precision.
I took just 15 minutes for 5 GB of Apple Mail data. All my attachments, images, properties, nested messages, and folder structure was preserved. The tool also fully support all languages. There is an option to save read/unread emails in separate folders. And, you also don’t necessarily need MBOX files.
And last but not the least, “Mail Passport Pro” is surprisingly easy to use. All the credit goes to its user-friendly interface and a systematic wizard. Even the first time users of computers, who are only familiar with basic tasks, I can use it seamlessly. I don’t think we can ever put the price to that.
Download the free trial version which I did first. It allowed me to convert 10 items from Mac Mail to PST file for each folder. And the test results were so excellent.
