❝Look, Shuichi, I ain’t saying that those other games are bad or whatever but if you haven’t beaten Putt Putt Goes to the Moon then you can’t call yourself a true gamer. They can only make the same Call of Duty game so many times, y’know.❞
@saihatra
“I -- I don’t really play video games, Kaito,” the detective admits, trying not to smile at Kaito’s typical mention of something space-related. “Um -- I played Smash Bros. once with my classmates? They were all way better than me, and I was kinda embarrassed...”
//Yes hello I am alive.

TAG SOMEONE WITH TASTE
Joke’s on you, I have no taste so you failed.
TAGGED BY: @azamukuna
RULES: tag nine people with excellent taste. which I won’t do because I barely know myself much less nine people
COLOR(S) I’M CURRENTLY WEARING: red pajama shirt from a musical production I was in back in high school, really tacky pajama bottoms with dogs all over them.
LAST BAND T-SHIRT I BOUGHT: ...I don’t think I own a single one?
LAST BAND I SAW LIVE: I’m blanking on this one too, have I ever seen a band live...?
LAST SONG I LISTENED TO: I believe I was listening to the Shantae soundtrack.
LIPSTICK OR CHAPSTICK: neither, peak self-neglect aesthetic is letting your lips dry out and die (chapstick if I had the sense to carry any around which I don’t).
LAST MOVIE I WATCHED: high school musical unfortunately... my friends sat me down and forced me to watch it for the first time this past friday. didn’t really live up to the hype tbh.
LAST 3 TV SHOWS I WATCHED: doctor who, whose line is it anyway, touken ranbu.
LAST 3 CHARACTERS I IDENTIFIED WITH: identify with? that’s a good question... I rp a lot of characters I don’t see myself reflected in, but honestly shuichi is probably one of the closest to my own personality/sensibilities that I’ve latched onto for a long while. I don’t know if that’s better or worse for him or me.
BOOK I’M CURRENTLY READING: the last book I finished reading was red scarf girl, which was a memoir I read for class.
TAGGING: idk man I’m too lazy for this, I guess @smiletorn/whatever blog you wanna do it on because I torture you with all the ask memes. oh and @nefeliibxta too for that matter.

“yes gimme the good stuff,” shuichi says with a manic grin. “gimme the most potent lemur mineral ya got. i won’t tip the police off, i’m a detective.”
azamukuna:
Oh, geez. That went down pretty badly.
It was only a matter of minutes that he had to make a decision – and retrieve the detective. ( this is all or nothing, huh? ) At least it was exciting. Without hesitation, Ouma picked up a rock and flung it through the window, shattering the glass, calling out to Shirogane. “Hey, betcha can’t catch this!” It took her no time to run out to go fetch the guards to go chase him. Maybe that might take a load off of the other DICE members who might’ve heard the commotion.
Ouma went up to the window and pointed at the lock for the window with haste. “Saihara, open this! We’re getting the hell out of here.” He would have to hope that the other members were able to get out on their own safely, regardless of whether they retrieved anything or not. Knowing them, they probably managed to grab something on the way out.
“Also, you really suck at this! I’m gonna give you lying lessons later, got that?”
“The -- the window -- ?!”
Ouma’s distraction wasn’t very complex but it seemed to work for the moment. Yet even despite the situation they’re in, Saihara finds himself hesitating. Is there still away for him to sell out DICE (despite obviously lying to Shirogane’s face) by claiming to be a double agent? Part of him still feels guilty not executing his mission the way he was supposed to.
...No, the urgency on Ouma’s face tells him otherwise. He’s screwed if he sticks around, so as much as he doesn’t want to trust criminals, it’s currently his only ticket out of an inevitable death.
“All right -- um -- ! Okay --”
Nearly tripping over his own feet, Saihara rushes the window, trembling fingers fumbling with the lock until he opens it. “S-sorry...!” ...What the hell is he apologizing for?! He wouldn’t even be in this situation in the first place if it wasn’t for Ouma! “I’ll -- uh -- I’ll work on it...? ...Sorry.”
Vampire AU
After a huff, Rantaro nodded, “Yeah, I might be a Vampire, but I doubt that my actual talent, after all, it just… it doesn’t feel right. I don’t know if you could understand, but try considering yourself the Ultimate Human, and if it were something as simple as that, why hide it? You guys would know I am a Vampire at some point, not much of a cliffhanger if both mysteries are solved with one answer.”
After shaking Shuichi’s hand, Rantaro noticed the other looking at him with fear in his eyes- Great. With a deep sigh, Rantaro pulled away, sitting on his bed as he looked at Shuichi, “Do… Do you honestly think I brought you here to harm you? You are looking at me like I am some wolf staring at a lamb. I just had my fill and I have never drunk from a human before, I already explained this all to you Shuichi. There is nothing to fear, but if you want to leave, go ahead.”
Does he truly think Rantaro is going to harm him? The question gives him pause. Though it pains him to hold another person’s gaze for long periods of time, Shuichi takes a breath and stares into the other’s eyes, attempting to detect a falsity or malice -- but he doesn’t.
“No, I -- I believe you... I’ll stay.”
Why should this be any different than Kiibo being a robot? It wasn’t as though Shuichi thought the Ultimate Robot was going to blow him up on a whim, so this shouldn’t be any different. For now, he’d allow himself to suspend his disbelief. “I’m sorry if this sounds callous, but -- I can’t help but ask, I’m curious... how -- how did this happen?”
hazuukashi:
“Uh… Ah, for me it is. If we’re gonna continue bein’ friends, then that’s how it’s gotta be man. I don’t make the rules.” Yes he did. He always made his own rules. However, Leon had already shown his cards, calling Saihara a ‘friend’ already. Leon had said it, though he didn’t even realize the potential connotation of his words.
Without saying another word, Leon immediately flipped to a song with heavy electric guitar. The words were intelligible, though bold, crude and yelled from the singer’s core. Leon’s head bobbed in time to the music, somehow finding a beat to follow through all the loudness. “This ain’t half bad y’know. Was really popular a year ago.”
Shuichi does his best to listen through the loudness, though he admittedly isn’t very in tune with this kind of music. It’s all a bit chaotic and... stressful for him to handle, as if he’s at a party surrounded by strangers screaming at him. With all his might he tries to push the comparison away -- he doesn’t want to get anxiety listening to a song, for goodness sake!
“I can’t say it’s something I’d listen to on my own,” the detective admits sheepishly, “but I do really appreciate the singer’s... passion?” That, at least, is genuine. “You can tell they believe in what they’re doing... uh. Is that a weird thing to say about music?” He pauses a bit too long. “I mean, it’s -- it’s very -- boisterous?”
