Considering the absence of updates upon this page, and the lack of dedication over the previous months, the decision has been processed to dispose of the old maintenance. As such, a new familiar has been selected for the maintenance of communication, as well as the administration, upon this platform. There will be less leniency with the staff as His Majesty urges for his sons' best interest, and for their continued interaction with you all. Although the voice - and all-too-familiar nickname - spoilt the surprise of who it was that caught you in their arms, being trapped in a way that you were unable to properly greet him was all the more adrenaline inducing, no? Especially when his lips came to rest right by your ear, words barely above a whisper in volume.

❝ You smell so scrumptious. It’s a crime to make me wait until after the dance to have a taste, you know? Fufu, but that’s the thrill, isn’t it? Holding out, edging yourself, until you lose control. ❞

Suddenly you were free, Laito’s fingertips trailing to your hips for a brief moment, spinning you around to face him.

The bight breeze felt so nice, she nearly forgot what broght her to such place. Her cheeks burned at the feeling of his arms around her. His breath in her ear sending an unpleasant chill down her spine.

As she was freed from his embrace, a hint of relief formed on her face before being turned his way. Her mind was devided. While she couldn’t deny his beauty, the worry of what awaited for her maintained a constant look of fear within her eyes.

Laito took his time with leading the girl inside, his strides long - yet dreadfully slow - as the sounds of the awaiting ballroom grew closer, and louder, until they finally reached its entrance.

Pushing the door open upon it's hinge, Laito's narrowed, playful gaze followed lifted from the gap of the door, as the crowd and golden chandelier came into full view, to his partner and whatever expression they chose to bear in apprehension.

They both had little choice now but to head forward, into the crowd. Those at the entrance already exchanged whispers at the sight of them, and another group of guests had begun to build up behind them, awaiting entrance. With a confident tilt of the chin, upwards, Laito tugged the girl on inside.

With little care for formalities, Shuu led his partner astray, toward the far, back corner. He didn't physically direct them there - how troublesome! Though, if they happened to follow him of their own will, they'd discover - or confirm - his lesser efforts to engage with the event.

❝ We'll dance when that guy gets here... For now, I'll enjoy Brahms from this corner; The strings sound better back here. ❞

Try as you may, however, if you're so determined to dance with him. After all, that is why you applied as his partner, no? Do what you will to encourage him onto the dance floor, although we cannot ensure that you will succeed unscathed.

Oh well, I expect you have not.” – Nunnally sighed but she was speaking in a voice of a person, who was expecting exactly that from Shuu. A person that – in fact – was used to him. She followed him to that corner in the back. Just for now. Just for some time.   

“I demand you do not address His Majesty in a disrespectful way in my presence.” – she stated coldly when Shuu called his father ‘that guy’ – “Otherwise, all our agreements will not be valid anymore. I expect you to find me, when we are supposed to dance. In the meantime, I am going to find a better place to properly greet His Majesty when They appear. Perhaps, Father… your Father…would even grant me his first dance tonight.” – Nunnally continued, her face beaming with hope as she was leaving towards the place where she thought she would have best chances to meet Karlheinz-sama. After all, He was the only reason she wanted to attend the ball.

Nunnally approached Karlheinz smiling shyly to him. “Your Majesty…” – she bowed – “It’s such an honour to see you again. Would you mind offering me your first dance? Or any dance at all.” – she corrected herself feeling that she might have been too bold with her first request.

A rise out of Shuu? Oh my, what an achievement.

Caught between entertaining your surprising reaction and prying - in a manner more inquisitive than usually seen from Shuu - deeper into the cryptic meaning of the girl's words, he was vague enough to achieve both, if not the former a little more.

❝ If I'd known you'd be such a slut for that old guy, I'd have stayed in my room. I can't be bothered sitting back and watching you drool all over him on the dance floor... ❞

Shuu's words were carefully chosen in an attempt to provoke the young girl, but had she disappeared off to that very man before she could even catch the beginning of his words, Shuu was satisfied, though faintly disgusted, enough to settle down in the corner for good now, and - tucked away out of sight of Nunnally and his Father - drift off to the sounds of Brahms as planned.

At least, until the chattering of the crowd became far too boisterous.

Charming, isn’t he? Despite his words - or lack therefore - Subaru had seemingly done his very best to scrub up for the occasion especially. Although his hair was, stubbornly, still obscuring half of his vision, he seemed to have gone to the effort of polishing his shoes!

❝ Didn’t think you’d get so dressed up for some stupid dance. S'not like we’re gonna be winnin’ any prizes. ❞

There was some hope, regardless of his pessimism. Although, that was if you both actually made it into the ball. It had already begun, by the sounds of it! Yet, you couldn’t blame Subaru for wanting to be fashionably late - or susceptible to nerves - could you?

And with that blunt instruction, Subaru’s hand on their lower back was surprisingly forceful in guiding his partner through the ornate ballroom doors, into the blinding light of the ball.

His nervous demeanor was mirrored by the female who began to twirl a single lock of loose hair around her index finger as she nibbled on her lower lip.

“Uhmー Is it…too much?”

It was quite clear that this would be her first ever ‘ball’, therefore Sharon did not have the slightest clue what to wear or how to style her hair. In the end, she decided to hit up the library and look through various books for guidance, which is how she put together her final look.

( I guess I should have figured that these kind of clothes would look silly on me…I’m going to make an absolute fool out of myself in there. )

However, before she was given a chance to go change into something a little more similar to her usual attire, the Vampire had already guided - or rather pushed - her towards the ballroom.

“…Woah!”

Her eyes widened in surprise from the moment they set foot inside the room. It looked exactly like in the movies, leaving her completely speechless. 

From the decorations to the other guests dressed in beautiful gowns and tuxedos ー everything just screamed ‘extravagant’. 

Still, it was something entirely different which ultimately caught her attention…

“…Ah!”

All anxiety melted away when she laid eyes upon the dessert buffet - most likely a request by Kanato - in all of its delicious glory. Her head immediately turned towards the youngest Sakamaki and while she did not say anything, it should have been clear from the sparkles in her eyes that she very much wanted to head towards the sugary feast.

With furrowed brows, Subaru followed the girl's mesmerised gaze across to that very same buffet, scoffing quietly.

❝ All this shit goin' on, and you can only focus on the buffet? ❞

Subaru's fingers curled on her lower back, bunching the fabric of her gown tightly in a now closed fist - his own strength something he hadn't quite considered upon the poor fabric. It was almost as if, however, he was restraining her from the feast.

❝ Don't even think 'bout it. ❞

This time, his voice sounded deeply beside her ear; the Vampire had bent down just to scold her, amidst the crowd, although it was more of a harsh whisper than anything to disturb the mass.

Despite his efforts, something told him that she wouldn't forget about the buffet any time soon... Giving more thought to the matter of the overflowing cakes, and plentiful macarons, Subaru straightened back up. Side-eyeing the girl as he did, a defeated huff escaped him after a moment.

Fumbling with his fly, Ayato had only just made it out the door at exactly a quarter to three, when the ball was set to begin. Despite his own disheveled appearance - red spikes lazily gelled back and pant pockets inside out - the Vampire was quick to critique his partner.

Despite what apprehension they may have had, as he leant in to them, he didn't do the expected and latch onto their neck.

He had been quick enough with his hands to remove his red boutonnière without their seeing, only to slide and secure it somewhere between the hair near their temple, and behind their ear.
