❝ well... there are many reasons. i suppose on SOME level, i want power, absolute control, to mold the world as i see fit. — the wealth & status is more of a side effect than the real goal — but i couldn't care less about lying to you, the people in control both here & in the magic realm are morons who don't deserve the authority they've been given. humans & witches alike are greedy for power but only even use it to hurt their fellow man, its frustrating to watch how absolutely stupid people are. they don't deserve authority if they can't use it without abuse. now, i don't claim all violence is unneeded but frankly i'd rather it be focused on those actually deserving of it. i suppose that's right up your ally, is it not? punishing the damned with torture befitting their crime. i just tend to do it up here — i'd find sending them to hell a little less satisfying. at the end of the day, i want to be emperor of the world. but i suppose i'd be rather philanthropic compared to most ( if not all ) dictators. ❞ perhaps he'll keep his rather dark & occasionally unethical methods of acheiving this goal to himself a little longer.
he's rather forthcoming as it was, so when salem feels a pull in his mind, thoughts shifting without his say; he can only assume it was the devil's work — more fascinating than anything else. his thin eyes staring intently where it meets lucifer's own intense gaze. salem feels as though he can fight it, difficult as it may be to resist, but he has no real qualms with sharing this much anyway. what's lucifer to do anyway? tell him to take a more altruistic in his goals?
❝ you can stop whatever... that is. ❞ he'd gesture vaguely if he could, but he's found any use of his paws in that nature ends up with him looking like he was trained to give high fives & expects a treat. ❝ it feels a little unecessary when you could just ask me like a normal person. ❞
❝ i’m afraid you CAN’T give me the thing i truly want, so i suppose i’ll go with my back up. i’d like an authentically signed copy of william shakespeare’s most famous works for my personal library. ❞ surely that’s not too tall an order for a man like lucifer. but, after a few more seconds, he figures he may as well give the REAL answer.
❝ my body back, ❞ finally comes the answer. with his eyes staring up at the man, eyes betraying an intellegence unmatching of his blank face. ❝ —but the curse has a time limit, what's a couple more decades anyway? ❞ 17 more years to be specific, salem was counting down the days.
