Mayuzumi: I’m lonely as shit.
Anyone: Hey, do you want to hang out—
Mayuzumi: No.
He looks like a hacker.
There was a fic like that I think!
skadwaz:
Kuroko always found Mayuzumi to be an interesting person, not only for their shared lack of presence but also for how the other male had developed in regards to it – he found Mayuzumi having that sense of self confidence that Kuroko had lacked in his younger years and wearing it almost as a badge of honor. Truthfully, the younger boy wouldn’t have minded becoming friends with the other person if he wasn’t all too opposed to the idea; although Kuroko doubted that it would be easy from the way the older boy’s brow crinkled subtly and the faint narrowing of those ashen hues. Akashi had mentioned that he liked to read also – light novels but literature in any shape and form always carried the same elements of a story.
“Mm, if you haven’t been around Tokyo much, this might be a good opportunity to explore the city. It was your first time being at J-World the last time we met, correct? There’s more to the city than just J-World.” Tokyo was a varied city after all, perhaps they could stop into a bookstore for the both of them to find those books they liked respectively. It would have been nice for Akashi to do more than say to meet up to look at SkyTree though, Kuroko liked to leave the house for an outing with some kind of plan in mind, it didn’t bode well for someone who was generally invisible to the public to wander around in a busy metropolis such as Tokyo – Kuroko couldn’t imagine how it would be with the two of them. The thought of losing Mayuzumi in a crowd for the same reasons that most people lost him in a similar situation was both amusing and faintly worrying. “Why don’t we head over in that direction then? If there’s any stops along the way that catch your interest please let me know and we’ll stop. I will be your tour guide today then, Mayuzumi-san.”
"We sure did a lot of pointless walking around that time, though. For us to be summoned here again... Akashi’s planning something." Why Akashi seemed to have some sort of obsession with having him get along with Kuroko... Mayuzumi just didn't know. He was no longer a student at Rakuzan anymore, and wouldn't be facing Kuroko in an official match ever again. Nor was he needing to be included to boost "team morale" or whatever the hell was Akashi’s new thing. Rakuzan wasn't his team, not anymore... Yet Akashi still insisted on keeping tabs on him. For what reason was anybody's guess, really.
At least Kuroko wasn't all too troublesome to be around. Guys like Akashi drew in unnecessary attention thanks to their flashiness, but at least now they wouldn't really be bothered by anyone. Kuroko wasn't a loud person. Mayuzumi didn't mind that. He wasn't a rival anymore either, but... Was this really alright? Hm.
"Ah? Fine then," Mayuzumi agreed, resigned to his fate thanks to Akashi as usual. "Although, I'm not sure how I feel being guided by someone younger than me, and my former rival at that."
Mayuzumi Chihiro ↳ Happy Belated Birthday to the lovely @hisokahs ♡
Hotpot anyone?
☠, ☺, ☹, ♫, ✎, ♧,✺, ✗, ✈
☠: my muse’s biggest fear
not a fear per se, but i think mayuzumi genuinely deals with social anxiety. it’s a canon fact that he’s not good at talking to people, and i think that out of laziness and/or lack of caring, he won’t even bother trying to understand them. the fading into the background thing, he doesn’t really mind it because he can keep to himself and focus on what he enjoys. situations where he has to be highly social probably stress him out. it’s difficult to pinpoint a specific fear in him because he’s the kind of guy who will just accept his losses and move on. i like to think that on some level he doesn’t really enjoy isolation, but it’s what’s easiest for him since people are so difficult to connect to.
☺: something that makes my muse happykicking back with a light novel, of course. they’re great ways to escape reality for a bit, and the reading level is light and easy to comprehend, even though they’re so well-written and character-driven. that’s the beauty of them. and he actually does like playing basketball. being defeated by kuroko sucked, but he was proud of his personal play style.
☹: something that makes my muse upset
this guy can’t STAND being looked down upon or belittled. it’s so bad that he got overly competitive against kuroko for the sake of his pride and fucked himself over when his team needed him. good job mayuyu!!
♫: my muse’s favorite song, band, and/or music genre
lmaooo this guy probably listens to touhou music or some shit. soundtracks from animes, visual novels, character CDs, etc. if it’s something unrelated to his otaku hobby, though, he probably likes music that makes him feel at ease.
✎: what my muse’s best subject in school is/was
his best subject is physics, as stated in the official kurofes fanbook. my guess is that, like kuroko, his grades are probably fairly average.
♧: something my muse is really good at
computers. one of his special hobbies is overclocking CPUs… which is basically when you set your CPU to run at higher speeds than it’s officially meant to. it’s actually pretty smart because you can buy low cost CPUs and run them at speeds meant for more expensive CPUs.
✺: something my muse loves and never gets tired of
self-indulgence… lmao. this guy will do anything for his own self-satisfaction.
✗: something my muse hates or gets angry about
i think he probably gets annoyed when people misunderstand the meaning behind his LNs. i get the impression mayuzumi gets deeply invested in the stories and characters, especially considering he likes to read his novels on the rooftops because it’s a popular trope in LNs for fated meetings. lmaoo, he’s the most. i deadass see this guy getting into arguments with people on the internet over personal interpretations.
✈: where my muse would go if they could move anywhere
maybe somewhere near akihabara…? LMAO
intimidatingcaptain:
A shade fell upon image of his, transforming commonly aloof facade with bewilderment, obtaining shades of disarray, as his thoughts blended for a few instants, what was caused by inner hesitancy regarding the manner he was supposed to convince the other to be more social and actually blend with the team, whilst the chance still remained. Ceasing his motions, the redhead stood not far, distancing self from the other teen, carmine optics trailed all over the sitting male, detecting new folio in hands, calculating possible number that he could read in a duration of a week. “—Good morning, Mayuzumi-san.” Tranquil tone greeted, applying the respectful honorific, an emphasis for the new phantom player to grasp non-availability of hostility from him; after brief pause parted lips freed long lingered on his mind thoughts on the match, that occured few days ago, that also seemed to not remove clutches of a bother off the team, what also compelled to resort to extra measures and agreed on something Akashi before would never permit. “—I can only presume what still keep you away from the rest of the team, but it was our loss to Seirin, not of a specific individual. And as the captain, I take full responsibility, but I came here not just to debate.” Barely audible sigh escaped his mouth, as the point guard attempted few steps forward, providing more seriousness in own words and intentions, along went continuation and original matter of his approach.
“—Hayama offered visiting Hanayashiki with the team, whilst we’re still in Tokyo. It’s not preferable place for me to spend time, yet I can oblige.” Being aware of preferring secluded type of repose, he permitted self to offer the other to join the rest, which could be considered as putting efforts into creating and expanding bonds, that would result in trust and reliable relationship between the members on Rakuzan basketball team. And thus he was awaiting for a positive response, even if there would be a need to persuade stubborn and wayward power forward in a more way than one.

Saying that Akashi had gotten fucking weird since the Winter Cup was over was a bit of an understatement. More specifically, ever since Mayuzumi had given the guy a piece of his mind--something in him had definitely changed. It wasn't as though Mayuzumi wanted to claim responsibility for whatever had spurred it on, though; he had just been getting ticked off since Akashi had talked himself up all this time only to act like a whiny brat at the most critical moment of the game. There being another Akashi, or whatever--Mayuzumi didn't know any of that. Not that Mayuzumi minded the change, or anything. Akashi was actually a lot more bearable now, and he actually seemed to sort of give a damn about him which he didn’t hate, but...
...Now he had this sudden fixation on "team bonding" or whatever, and Mayuzumi wanted none of that.
"Well, aren't you a saint," Mayuzumi said dryly, fingers flipping through the pages of his light novel--the newest volume of A Clockwork Apple and Honey and Little Sister. Just his luck that Akashi would be the one to distract him now when he was eager to read through the latest installment. And really, Mayuzumi wasn't so presumptuous to assume that he was the sole reason Rakuzan had lost, but he certainly didn't help, either.
"Are you inviting me? I decline," Mayuzumi rejected smoothly. "I'm graduating in a while, so you can hardly consider me part of the team anymore at this point. No one will notice whether I go or not." Shit, Mayuzumi wasn't even saying that to be edgy and pessimistic; it was just the reality of who he was, of the way he played basketball.

“Ah.” Judging from that reaction the other boy had also been expecting someone else to meet up with them as well, Kuroko walked over to properly greet the older male. “I’m assuming that you were expecting to meet up with Akashi-kun too? He mentioned something of a get together in Tokyo and wanting to visit Skytree to me.” The smaller boy had to wonder if Akashi would truly show up to the meeting this time though, traveling from Kyoto to Tokyo to visit a tower that Kuroko was certain the other male had seen before was a bit of a stretch after all. Regardless still, the last time they had all gotten together had ended pleasantly and Kuroko was always one to make friends off the court even if their relations were not the most friendly on it.
“I wonder if there’s a reason for this although, I have no doubt that there is one in his mind. I had a good time the last time we met up.” Kuroko let a beat of conversation pass, glancing over to the taller boy before speaking once more. “Have you been to Skytree before, Mayuzumi-san?” He was still planning on going there but it might be worth it to find out what interests the other boy had to make stops accordingly.
For some reason, Kuroko's expression irritated him a little. Quit looking at me like a lost puppy! Mayuzumi wanted to say, but he shrugged it off. Mayuzumi's pride told him to treat Kuroko with disdain after the way Kuroko had looked down upon him in their match, ultimately besting him much to Mayuzumi's disgrace--but, the guy was difficult to be rude to. He seriously wasn't a bad person, and it ticked him off. Make yourself a little more unlikeable, he thought. Then again, what's the point in getting all fired up over a rival now? That time in my life is over.
"That's right. It was Akashi who called me all the out here, but I didn't know what for. That rich bastard always gets what he wants," Mayuzumi sighed. He always felt like a fool when he fell for Akashi's trickery, but what could he do against the likes of Akashi Seijuurou? Even Mayuzumi knew when he was outmatched and outsmarted... Especially by a guy who achieved his goals through any means necessary. That much sure hadn’t changed about him. Well, whatever. May as well walk around so that this wasn't a total waste. "I've seen it from a distance, that's all. I don't normally have any business here in Tokyo." Mayuzumi had an odd hobby of wandering aimlessly after getting off at train stations he wasn't familiar with, so he'd seen it in passing, though it was pretty rare he'd wander off this far.

“Are you kidding me? This again?” Mayuzumi grumbled at the sight of a smaller-framed male calling out to him--but not the one that he was looking for. No, Mayuzumi had been called out to meet with Akashi for some reason or another. (it was important, he’d said, and Akashi didn’t fuck around with that sort of thing... or did he? Mayuzumi was learning a lot of new things ever since his change at the Winter Cup.) Instead, the pair of eyes gazing up at him were large and blue, rather than narrowed crimson ones (or half gold, or whatever-- Mayuzumi still didn’t really get it).
“Tch, damn Akashi... Looks like that guy played us again.” Seriously, what was with Akashi’s fixation on having him and Kuroko get along? They didn’t live near each other and Kuroko was the one that Mayuzumi had failed to surpass, so what was the point...
yo, it’s jessie with a new knb blog, the new and improved model of the phantom sixth man, mayuzumi chihiro. i’m still in the process of getting more icons and setting shit up (and i don’t think this will show up on the tags for at least a few days) but consider this a placement holder promo until i have a time to make a real one. pls like/reblog/follow if you wanna interact w/ this apathetic sack of shit otaku! about | rules
