I would like to formally thank Bright for giving us an understated but iconic kick scene
This is the face of a man realizing Some Things about himself
“And now my fight is real different, with a different enemy, one I cannot see, nor put a bullet into.”
Me reading Gild: This books is just okay, I really don't get why everyone raves about this series.
Me reading Glint: Okay, I totally get it now
“You’re very nearly mine now.”

Next backlog papercraft - another for Plated Prisoner! Ahhh this was such a fun little vignette for the second book. I really enjoyed the banter between Rip and Auren - the story really took off with these two for me (though Gleam just wiped the floor with the first two books, omg). **** MINOR SPOILERS FOR GILD & GLINT BELOW **** So Auren doesn’t have long hair like this in the books, but it was a nice embellishment for the bird swing. It also acts as a slight nod to the Rapunzel-esque situation Auren finds herself in; plucked from her ‘tower’ and rescued by a man covered in thorns. (HAH!) That’s if you could define rescue as strong-arming her off of her perch that she’s stubbornly clinging to. (hence, hinch) I really love how I could render Auren’s ribbons in papercraft fully this time - subtly taking shape of a birds wings. So. Many. Symbolisms. Y'ALL. I can’t with this series. I already had something in mind for the third book (previewed a while back with a MAJOR spoiler for Gleam). It’s pretty likely this train will keep going. 🙌✨🧡

Another backlog papercraft! I can’t believe I missed this one too, even though I’ve posted Plated Prisoner content before. This was my first fanart for the series, back when I was gushing about the greedy pleasure that is The Plated Prisoner series by @ravenkennedybooks. It brought me out of my reading slump after having to put down ACOSF for a bit (20% in). While Gild (book 1) had my curiousity, Glint (book 2) absolutely had my attention! They basically claimed an entire weekend, the world building and character designs were so addicting! I had papercraft designs ready for both books and had planned to release them together, but I probably won’t finish the second one until the third book’s release! *GRABBY HANDS* Be sure to read the content warnings if you plan to dive into these! Holy cripes this papercraft was such an endeavor with all the different glitter and metallic papers. The lighting for the final photograph was so critical to get right. I used 8 different types of gilded paper and a metallic vellum for the harp strings l. ✨🧡 *****SPOILERS FOR GILD BELOW***** I hope I didn’t spoil this from the title alone, but I reaaaaally could smell the fools gold oozing from Midas’ every word in book one. With Auren’s affinity for the harp and her SUPER cool golden ribbons that run down her spine, how. HOW. Could I not make this allusion? Midas literally playing her. UGH The second design for Glint is just as good, featuring my favorite egnima character, Rip.

Loving the Plated Prisoner series by Raven Kennedy
Here is my latest commission from the Plated Prisoner series, with Rip helping Auren down her horse in Glint, done by the incredible lamila.lara!
Happy release *week* to GLOW! I say that because I’m late with this mini papercraft challenge to celebrate, but what else is new! A new papercraft to pay tribute to Auren and King Ravinger from The Plated Prisoner Series by Raven Kennedy! The ‘third’ pair from TPP I’ve rendered in paper. Slade having no qualms about skin-to-skin contact with his goldfinch. (Under the right lighting, of course!) But it’s Auren’s ribbons that are taking center stage in this one. Wrapping around the four-pronged tree, emblem of the Fourth Kingdom. Honestly, Auren’s ribbons were MADE for papercrafting. I love drawing swirly, swoopy things and Auren’s ribbons are seriously my favorite, in craft and on text. And I’m sure, for those who have read up through Gleam, you can only imagine my feelings when I read through it the first time. 😩✨

Bad Dreams
When Kieran feels Poppy's fear through the bond, he panics and goes to help her, but it's not what he thinks.
Written June 4, 2021
Something was wrong. From all the way across the palace he could feel her fear and panic, and Kieran knew that something bad was happening. His eyes shot open and without a second thought he shifted, sprinting out of his chamber and down the hallway. Wide-eyes servant jumped out of the way. They knew the look of a wolven on a mission, and even more so they knew not to disturb said wolven.
