baby bottles 101!

Baby bottles can be really fun and a great way to stay hydrated but there are a few things you should keep in mind:

💖 Baby Bottles come in a lot of different sizes and shapes and especially the tips come in a lot of varities. And you‘ll probally like some types more than others and it‘s completly fine if you need to try out a few different ones before you find a bottle you really like

🩵 Bottles are neither pacis nor teethers or chewies. Avoid biting and chewing on the tip because that can damage it and also don’t suck on the bottle after you finished drinkink and it‘s empty since there might still be some liquid in it and that can be really bad for your teeth

💜 You can drink almost anything you want from a bottle, not just milk, tough very thick drinks like smoothies might not work very well. Also always be carefull about the temperature and remember to brush your teeth!

🤍 Make sure to clean your bottle after every use! For cleaning, take your bottle completly apart and clean everything individually. Wait for it to completly dry before reassembeling

💛 At minimum wash your bottle with dishsoap and warm water and make sure to scrub every part of it. Check before if you can put your bottle in the dishwasher, and if you can that‘s a great option too. Just note that this can change the color and texture of the bottle and especially the tip

💚 If you have a fully functioning immunesystem you don‘t have to sterilize your bottle. If you want to tough, you can do so by taking the bottle apart, putting all the parts into a pot with boiling water and cooking them for five minutes. Wait until it has all cooled down before touching them and be carefull when doing this!

🧡 Avoid using steel wool for cleaning, since it can scratch the bottle up, especially the volume-markings and any pictures prited on the bottle!

🩷 Don‘t leave drinks like milk that can go bad really fast out for long. If you can‘t drink it all at once, make sure to put your bottle in the fridge

🩵 If the tip get‘s damaged, make sure to replace it as quickly as possible. Luckily most manufacturers sell replacement tips that you can get. Just make sure you remember the brand and model your bottle is from!

Note: Do not get bottles or any other Little Gear if it puts you in a unsafe situation

🧼 how to tackle hygiene problems when small

⊹ as somebody who struggles a lot with hygiene, it's tough for me to do the same when little, but heres my personal list of tips that make it slightly easier for me! (this focuses mostly on bathtime + brushing teeth!)

Bath / Shower time ! 🛁 ⋆ buying bath toys ⋆ bubble baths! ⋆ fun smelling shampoo ⋆ having cute towels ⋆ (if comfortable) have a caregiver join you ⋆ bath bombs! ⋆ Take your other toys / plushies in the bath with you! (make sure the toys are clean beforehand hand / that there safe to be in the water ) ⋆ bath stickers ⋆ bathtime crayons ⋆ scented shampoos / soap to relax you ⋆ If you dont/can't stay in the shower too long, you should just focus mainly on hair, and then clean your body with soap once!

Brushing your teeth! 🪥 ⟡ kid toothbrushes and toothpaste ⟡ ^ flavoured toothpaste ⟡ remembering the tooth fairy will appreciate you brushing your teeth! ⟡ Pokemon Smile - An app that uses Pokemon to help brush your teeth! ⟡ Have your caregiver brush their teeth at the same time ⟡ Diy crafting a mini toothbrush and making your stuffie / toys brush their teeth as well

💖 Rewards / Misc tips!

❥ Rewarding yourself, When I'm done having a bath I reward myself with a dessert or coloring in page! ❥ Heres a rewards chart about bathing and brushing teeth! ❥ If you struggle with starting tasks, break them down into parts. for example- A certain task can take up to 30 minutes, but that's just 10 minutes tripled!!

[ 💧 🧸 ] tips for helping an insecure regressor ! !

sometimes i get super duper worried that my caregiver is uncomfortable with my regression , so i thought it’d be useful to caregivers / sitters / flips to have some tips on helping manage a self—conscious regressor !

— instead of simply reassuring them , treat them like a little / however they would like to be treated ! while reassurance can be helpful , in my opinion , actions are much more comforting

— in worse situations ( breakdowns / tantrums / etc. ) give them activities to do ! coloring pages are very nice for me , but if it’s something you can do in person together , i would recommend text—based tasks like having them tell you about their day , about their interests , anything really ! this might not seem like much , but being given little commands can help us feel very connected to being a regressor !

— similar to the previous one , give them a checklist ( this can work in person or over phone / text ) . this is a more general piece of advice , but it will help take their mind off of the worry and will help them feel accepted & taken care of !

— the most obvious one : talk about it with them . this is an easier thing to do when they are big ( not regressed ) , but having them explain , or try to explain , why they feel insecure can be very very helpful in your methods of reassuring them as well as taking some heaviness off of them ( talking does help ! )
