My number is kind of widely known because of hunting. After a case, Dean and I tell people to call us if something else weird happens. A lot of people know I'm here because another hunter has taken their case when they've called Dean or myself.

Our lives have never been fair, I guess. It's just the slice of life we got. Positive outlook and all that. This isn't me making it up to you. Me making it up to you is taking you out or something. Getting our minds off this bullshit. You could be mad at me. Everyone's mad at me at some point. It's not really an excuse. It's just the only thing I can say to people, including myself. What did he do, Jo? Talk to me. It matters to me. Maybe then I'll throw around some words about him. Him and I aren't on the best terms right now either.

Well, you seem intelligent, funny, and good-looking. As a general basis, I was under the impression that those qualities inspired compliments from others. And as far as compliments go, ‘oddly compelling’ isn’t exactly at the top of the list.
