olimar and red Pikmin, 'cause iirc he's said in the games that reds are his favorites

A/N: I remember this too. This will be a fun one to write ^^

Red, such a wonderful color

Olimar would never say he favored one specific type of Pikmin over the others. He cared for them all equally. But there was something about the red Pikmin that made him smile.

Red had always been his favorite color, but it was so much more than that. He loved the red sunsets on his home planet, and he loved red flowers.

Truly, red was a beautiful color. Even if it can be bright on the eyes occasionally. Still, he loved the red Pikmin. And now, as they venture through the Frozen Inferno, he's more than glad to have them.

The deeper they got, the colder it was. Moss was able to keep them warm, but he himself wasn't as lucky. His spacesuit kept out some of the cold, but not all of it.

He was shivering as they continued looking. That's when he felt tiny arms around him. Looking over his shoulder, he noticed a red Pikmin hugging him.

He never noticed this before, but the red Pikmin was warm. Perhaps their immunity to fire had something to do with it. Regardless, he smiled and patted their head.

"Thank you little one." He whispers softly. Soon, a few other red Pikmin moved over to hug him. He finally stopped shivering and wrapped his arms around them. His heart filled with warmth.

A/N: Hope you enjoyed this one. Also, am I the only one who head canons red Pikmin being warm to the touch and super nice to hug?

as you might expect, this set of cards takes heavy inspiration from inscryption's ant cards. olimar is sort of like the ant queen, except, when his card is played, there's a chance for you to get any one of the pikmin types in your hand. (i imagine that the pikmin cards can also be acquired independently of olimar.)

like ants, the power of any individual pikmin goes up by one for each additional pikmin on the board. power in numbers! this is what's represented by the pikmin symbol in place of the power stat.

for the health stat, this is my loose adaptation of pikmin flowering mechanics. every pikmin starts with 1 health, but if they survive the turn, their health goes up to 2, and the pikmin portrait on the card gets a flower on its head!

Rushing over, the red leafling pauses his dandori when he sees his newly exclusive (?) non-leafling associate out of the corner of his eye, taking off his helmet.<LIFE SUPPORT FAILING>

“ Excuse me, I'm pretty sure you need that-Im confident- .” the hybrid trails taking in the scene in its actuality.

A stare is his reply as crowned Chef Louie gestures airlessly - as he could not breathe- towards the meal that he was just about to eat.

‘Oh… that's what he was doing today… he was cooking it.’ What the space fairer was doing was incomprehensible as the leafling does not need to consume things. The struggle to find something to eat was one of the reasons that those who land upon this planet end up as a leafling. Is this really the solution? Holding one breath as you take a bite and then putting your helmet back on??? This is so inefficient.

<Louie picks up speed in his devouring because the hovering is awkward and stifling.> < what is this man's deal? Just leave me alone>

And then that comic happens where he just gets rejected by the onion for unknown reasons. < sap eater> I don't know how that's gonna fit in the leafling philosophy. Because as Louie, completely proven, the leaves can't save him. If Louie gets seriously injured, he is absolutely done with no retries. [Potentially i'm not the pikmin expert]

‘I must check up on the lad whenever I have the time to keep him alive and thriving. Not to mention He has so much useful info.It would be an absolute shame for such an individual < resource> to perish.’

Cue Many checkups < stalking ✨️> until it becomes a quasi deal thing and then automatic sharing resources. Accumulating into being together forever because this really is the best thing both of them and they're just doing so good. until one of them gets stolen away and reseted. (:

I like how even before they officially become partner in crime Leafmar just sticking around (stalking ☝️) Louie whereabouts, and also how Leafmar worried for Louie when he realized that this guy can't be saved from the leaf 😔

When I read your analysis I thought yeah, Louie is doomed if that helmet decides to crack open since you can't even leaflify outta this dawg, all because of eating odd stuff off the ground (aka the mysterious green sap). This info alone already brew up some ⭐angst⭐ in my head that's definitely have something to do with breaking that helmet yes I'm talking about you Louie watch your back.

I wonder how would Louie feel when Olimar was caught and returned back to normal and potentially, leaving him behind for the SECOND TIME because as soon as we got Olimar back you (almost) returned to your home planet right away (assuming P2 timeline aligned with P4)...m already giggling and kicking my feet I love putting them in situations.

Okay, I know my angst, and let me tell you, I'm going to make a case for Pikmin 4, then 2, then 3. I don't think it actually works for lore, but it definitely works for angst. trust.

It goes kinda crazy if it's the start. 

Because when the order of pikmin adventures turned around like this instead of oh, “this is an Olimar that I can really connect with, let's go and optimize this as long as I can” there's something to start off with, and once the cure hits, they're still that base. It is “this is Olimar, whom only just now really met and connected with, this is wonderful life and it will last forever until one of us dies”

Because leafling is the only version of Olimar that Louies knows and bonded with. The one that looked at his quirks and saw that was useful. The Olimar who found his survival an absolute marvel. Found spending time and resources on cooking bugs to perfection is not wrong at all, a little sub sufficient, but go ahead. The Olimar, who. would try basically anything that Louie put in front of them. ( It all goes in the onion anyways ) His Olimar did such kind things for him. That with hardly any reason while Louie was trying to push him away, tried to take care of him. Once his Olimar caught up, the leafling didn't make him do anything, just gave him some extra supplies in exchange for some survivalist info that his Nana taught him. A forceful interaction yet it still benefited him. until the partnership, obviously

(Bossy little man telling Louie to ride moss if he's gonna take a break. giving him suggestions on how to be more helpful. As he wasn't a leafling he doesn't have to, but it would be very nice if he did.)

They had communication methods. They had a system, They figured out so much together. They made a base. They practically co-wrote an encyclopedia. They were a dangerous team that could take on any foe and they could eat said foe together.

And now that leafling of his is gone forever and the rescue core ruined him. He cannot get releaved. He ate the sap.

He doesn't remember the time they shared.

He only remembers Louie, his newby co-worker who always messes up at his dead end job.

The real Olimar, who is cured and no longer filled with leaves, has to deal with a very weird situation. How is he going to explain this to his wife? guy who is really attached to him but not him.

And then Pikmin 2 happens. :)

IDK. I just think it makes a great setup for an au. :D 

[ Louie hates the rescue core so much for ruining what was his paradise, his Olimar was happy he WAS, < there was… sometimes the leafling felt like he was missing something very important and he had to go, but those were just fleeting moments. Something to overcome.>]

The other way can absolutely work as a climax too. A hundred percent more toxic, because Louie definitely knows and doesn't care. It's an improvement.

But having Leafmar at the start is a level of sincerity that is actually heart wrenching. You know? Leafmar searched him out… 

Tldr

Pikmin 4 as the climax Louie would see Olimar in Leafmar.

Pikmin 4 as the start, Louie would see the Leafmar in Olimar. 

It kind of depends on what you want. toxicity and secret keeping or louie absolutely grieving with extreme violence.

Both are absolutely fascinating.

Thinking about it some more. That's probably way too much of a dramatic reaction for louie. Some happening on the inside, though, definitely crashing out and crimes being done if this was like the first time you've been here like jeez, you went through a lot man

<I have absorbed this theory that the reason why the pikmin series is evolving. But the timelines all mess up is because the games are happening chronologically, but in stupid timeline loops. Thank you plasma wraith!

The way I my eyes just bulge out while reading this lmao anyway making Olimar forgot the time they spent together was absolutely diabolical work, worse, he probably wouldn't get to know about all that moment ever again unless Louie sit down and try talking things out with him (he probably not gonna recover the memory but at least he tried). But we both know it's gonna take a long time until that happen or it's not gonna happen at all since it's Louie, but I'd still want to see him try.

The other way around is just another layer of angst, but I think it still have a bit of wholesomeness to it. Louie knew Leafmar is technically Olimar yet he keep that to himself and literally abandoned his mission which is getting Olimar back. Because he saw Olimar was happier on PNF404 than the usual Olimar he knows (the dude wrote about death and family problems in treasure notes and even on work notes during P2, thinking no one gonna read that but oh you're so wrong)

Yeah he's might be a little dramatic than the typical Louie we know but imagine stucking on a time loop typeshit and you felt every pikmin version playing all at once I would lose my ball too.

If the plasma wraith goal is to literally keep Olimar there and other castaways, then getting Louie to do it is a really good solution, but it has to fight Louie and Louie is built different.

Unknowing time loops probably not the answer, so I actually kind of wonder what he would actually react like. Louie is too complicated for my brain. It can only just barely get there because I have autisms, and even then it's not the correct one.

Because you are right with the climax version. Cause if Louie actually cares for Olimar and then sees him in this state after all these ventures and he knows that he likes being on this planet in discovering things and not at crappy jobs, and he's never gonna be able to stay with his family thanks to said crappy job.

It would seem one of mercy.

Louie, knowing after everything that Olimar went through, really, would just think that this is a better life, which I imagine. Olimar is not gonna be happy with that decision being made even somewhat on his behalf.

That feeling when your wacky co-worker friend kept you in a drug haze but he says it was fine because he was sober the entire time which is only because he was immune because he ate some mystery green glow ooze he found roaming around at night.

The menace being pretty dang pleased with himself afterward but also kind of sad that it's over, “ Let's do this again sometime.” @ the Family Man who just wants to get home right now. “Louie, you cannot do this again. We are not getting paid for this.”

The castaway casualties that would have resulted if there wasn't a rescue corps here be damned! It's their fault for being here. Should not have been stupid.

Louie in response to not doing his objective in saving Olimar, looking away muttering.:... He didn't need it.

Olimar is actually freaking out right now running in for the interference “ it's not his fault, I told him this while being a leafling. He knows better now. He's not gonna do it again.”

Louis standing there thinking “I'll absolutely do it again”

I don't know, man. Maybe there should be two different versions because this is really appealing to me, but it's also really appealing to have genuine moments that Louie can never get back that he thought was gonna last forever with somebody who can't ever be that someone ever again.

But like, yeah, Louie is a fascinating little dude. I can only imitate small part of how he functioned in this kind of situation. There's many different versions of Louie ranging on a spectrum, from full time silly dude with big appetite to straight up psycho with a big appetite taking to the extreme and each of them Will have a different ways of thinking, it's bugging me so much I decided to just let him act or think differently every time I get to create content about Louie.

Also I like how you describe the climax version, they're so silly billy, it's like eating sands but between the soil and glass bit there's sugar mixed in. Idk.
