Thinking about Vinsmoke Sanji, who feels like he's losing his mind with this new video game.
You had spoken for weeks about this new game that released. There was such a high appeal, especially with everyone constantly talking about it. You'd show him videos or gameplay footage, expressing your excitement for it all. Sanji could see the gleam in your eyes whenever it was brought up.
The game was pretty basic; create characters on an island you run, and they live their lives while you observe. It has abilities to interact with them and drive conversations, but a lot of the mechanics are up to chance. Everyone on social media was having so much fun with the game, and you wanted to too.
Well, he knew what he had to do. What kind of boyfriend would he be if he didn't buy what his beloved wanted?
So, he went down to the store and bought it, no questions asked. Well, maybe a question to a nearby employee about its whereabouts. But that was his only question before buying it.
When Sanji brought it home, you were over the moon with joy. He could distinctly remember the amount of times you thanked him with hugs. Again, the appeal was lost on him, but it made you happy.
After dinner, the two of you strung yourselves on the couch to play the game. Though it wasn't multiplayer, Sanji didn't mind watching you create your island and characters.
"Mon chéri, I really don't think I look like that."
"Trust me, I know you best. It even has the odd shape of your eyebrows."
"Well, sure but.. wait, odd? You think they're odd?"
After a multitude of reassurance for Sanji, you became absorbed in the game. There were so many mechanics, fun characters to make, and things to do, you became addicted. By the end of the night, you had added all of your friends to the island to play the game with.
You found yourself completely addicted by the end of the next day. It was a really fun way to wind down after long days. The game was mindless, bringing joy and fun that you didn't have to work for.
The game was driving Sanji insane.
At first, the game seemed fun to him too. He loved watching you indulge in your people on the island and having fun with them.
As the days went on, his attempts at getting your attention began to falter greatly. Instead of hanging out with him in the kitchen, you were curled up in bed playing the game. His new drink inventions no longer garnered your attention. Sanji's grand gestures were no longer your focus.
As much as he couldn't believe it, Sanji was losing you to a video game. And he missed you, despite you being right there.
"My sweet, do you have a preference for dinner? Dear..?"
"Hm? No, make what you want, hon."
"But mon amor, my life is devoted to what you want!"
Yeah, to say it deeply wounded him was an understatement. Sanji has always been somewhat of a drama, especially when it comes to his love. He was really starting to regret buying you this game.
And yet, a part of him feels somewhat guilty. It seemed that the game brought you a lot of joy, keeping you entertained after long days. That's the way he felt about cooking; it was something he could look forward to after the day ends. That was what this game was for you.
He was caught between a rock and a hard place.
One night, you arrived home after a grueling day. Your feet were hurting, your stomach was growling, and you wanted nothing more than a shower and to curl up with your game. Looking up, you finally notice the dimly lit dining table with your boyfriend standing next to the chair.
He approached you wordlessly, planting a kiss on your cheek and stripping you of your coat. When you asked him what was going on, he just smiled and gestured to the table.
He made you a wonderful dinner with your favorite food and drinks. He sat you down and immediately served you, trying to not completely embarrass himself with his jealousy. And yet, you asked him again what this was all about.
"I simply wanted to give my beloved a grand gesture to serve as a reminder of the love I have for them."
"...Sanji, are you upset about the game?"
"What? No! I'm not at all jealous about the fact that you've given the game all of your attention instead of me! Why would I be?"
And there it was. You looked at Sanji for a moment before giggling, bursting into full-blown laughter. You couldn't believe you made your boyfriend feel neglected because of a game. Yet, you will admit, your attention has been a bit stuck in the game.
Once your laughter dies down, you apologized to your beloved. Sanji had worked so hard to vie for your attention, so he would have it for the night.
After dinner, though, you did boot up the game for a moment. Once you loaded in, you turn the screen to show Sanji what you had been up to on your island.
On your island, you and Sanji were married with a child, living together in a home. You had worked hard to ensure your characters would fall for each other, which is why you were so engrossed in it.
Sanji nearly fainted. He squeled with excitement and hugged you tightly, apologizing over and over again for his jealousy. He couldn't believe his beloved included him in their game without him knowing.
So, you both spent the night indulging in the game. Turns out Sanji liked it just a little too much too, he just didn't yet know.

hii i was wondering if you could do a super fluffy sanji x reader fic where from the start he gets out flirted by a very confident reader but they both start to get competitive about it just for the fun of it (lots of playful banter and teasing). eventually they realize they have actual mutual romantic feelings (reader falls first, sanji falls harder trope maybe?) and someone confesses but up to you who confesses first! thank you for all the work you’re doing to push the sanji agenda LOL 🙂↕️🙂↕️

Life with the Straw Hats has been nothing short of exciting. Ever since you took your leave from your island, you've found yourself drawn to adventure along the Grand Line. They brought you happiness, comfort, and thrill.
The biggest factor in these feelings was Sanji, of which you found yourself drawn the closest to. There were subtle giggles when he would argue with Zoro. You gave a small smile whenever witnessing his chaos with Luffy. And the little flirtatious gestures were enough to keep you amused.
Sanji very quickly noticed he had your attention. After encountering Reverse Mountain and the events thereafter, he found his urge to appeal to you stronger. He found himself coming off stronger than before, making his meals centered around you and your likeness.
Then the flirting started.
The crew had arrived in Drum Island, with Nami incredibly sick. It took effort, but you all eventually made it to the top of the mountain. Everyone was in great need of care. While Kureha took care of Sanji, you were close behind, constantly checking up on him. Despite being in rough shape yourself, there was this itching instinct to be by his side.
When Sanji awoke, he immediately jumped to your attention.
"Are you alright? Cold? Hungry? How can I be of service, mon chérie?"
"Oh, hush Sanji." You say lightly, pushing him to lay back down. "I'm perfectly fine. My main concern is you, dearest."
You will never forget the shade of red that adorned Sanji's face by hearing your words. You excused yourself to get him some medicine and soup, allowing him to properly try to breathe. Zoro entered the room, asking Sanji what his issue was. But he could hardly breathe.
"Seriously Cook, what's wrong?"
"It's her! She- she just- I-"
That interaction alone was enough to spark an unspoken competition between the two of you. Who could flirt the best? Who could make the other speechless first? Snarky flirtations and teasing words were now constantly thrown around the ship at all times. It drove the other Strawhats insane.
"My dearest, could you assist me with dinner? I'd be able to focus better with your beautiful face nearby."
"Of course, Sanji. Anything to witness the artistry that is your cooking."
"Oh my goodness, you both need to stop." Nami cried out, watching you both walk to the galley with ignorance.
While this arrangement was fun, there was an issue you encountered. Not once had anyone ever matched your energy when it came to flirting. You usually came off as overbearing, "too much" for most. But Sanji, he embraced it. He was the exact same way. Finding someone who met his match was a dream come true.
But, unfortunately, you fell for your best friend. Hard.
You noticed it when his flirtations started weighing heavier in your mind. Did he really think you were beautiful? Did he mean it when he called you those pretty French endearments? Were his stares more than what you thought?
These constant questions swirled in your head as you lied in bed. There was a sense of guilt that came with these feelings. What if you're ruining everything? What if Sanji just wanted a friendship? Friends.. the words hurt the more you spoke them aloud.
As the days went on, you kept quiet about your true feelings towards Sanji. You admired him and the dynamic you shared, but never reached beyond that. Though, the cook himself had started feeling deeper than originally thought.
It started with him finding meals to your liking. His creations were becoming catered to you, no one else. Your approval was something he began to crave.
He also found himself protecting you before others. Of course, the safety of everyone was priority. Still, there was this voice that said to check on you before anyone else.
Sanji caught himself staring at you talking to Robin during dinner. His fork clattered to the plate, drawing attention from others. He somehow managed to play it off, but not without your relentless teasing later on. Still, he smiles at the memory every time.
Sanji realized he was in love with you during a quiet moment after the crew finished dinner.
No one on the crew ever helped Sanji clean up. Honestly, he usually preferred it that way. He could quietly clean dishes while thinking about what to make for tomorrow's meals. Though, when you started joining him some odd months ago, he found himself enjoying the company more.
You worked in quiet unison, with Sanji scrubbing and you drying. There was no need for talk, the two of you had been at this for a while. He honestly does not recall when the comfortable silence began. There were not many people he could be so quiet around.
Once the dishes were done, you sat to write upon your journal, documenting the journey of the crew from that day. Sanji began a pot of tea, leaning against the counter as you wrote.
"Only good things about me in there." He says, gesturing to your journal. "And yourself, of course. You're pure goodness."
"I could never think of a single negative thing to write about you, dearest." You say without looking up.
The flutter in Sanji's chest kicked in, leaving his body feeling warm. He smiled softly, relishing in that feeling his friend gave him.
'My friend..'
The more Sanji stared at you, the more little details he was able to point out. The way your tongue sticks out as you write intensely. The little scars on your right hand from recent combat. The way you tuck your hair behind your ear when you think about what to write. Or even the fact that you date every entry with a little doodle next to it.
He wouldn't be able to do this to his other crewmates. He can't point out their quirks and charms and find them so cute. He hated the sound of friend the more he stared.
"Oh Sanji?" You drawl, forcing him to snap back. "You've been staring with those pretty eyes for so long. What's on that brilliant mind?"
"You."
It came out without even thinking, like it usually does. Only this time, it felt completely different. Why does Sanji feel so different?
Every possible thing about you comes to his mind. The way you bore your soul to him on quiet nights. Your shameless flirting to match his energy. Your preference to spend time with him rather than others. Everything about you screamed 'more than a friend'.
Then, Sanji said his peace. "I think I'm in love with you."
You gently gasp, mouth slightly agape. Sanji too was shocked, rubbing a hand over his mouth. The silence was strong. What now?
So, you did what you do best. "You think?" You say with a smile.
"Oh! Well- I mean- I didn't-" Sanji was stumbling hard over his words. "It's not that-"
You laugh to cut him off. You stand, journal in hand, and make your way to Sanji. Your hand reaches his cheek.
"Well, when that pot of tea is done, why don't you bring it to my room?" You propose. "Maybe you'll know then."
You lean up, pressing a gentle kiss to his cheek before leaving the galley. Sanji's face was a flustered mess, red as a cherry tomato. He was astounded that someone could make him this way. That was usually his thing to do.
Outside the door, you smile so wide, it nearly hurts. Everything in your life felt brighter, so much better. And now, Sanji would be in your room soon enough with a cup of tea and feelings to pour out.
Neither of you could wait, for the visit and for the future.

Thinking about Vinsmoke Sanji, who is the first person to ever treat you so kindly in your life.
Your home was always so cold, so distant. Everyone there was constantly seeking fame, wealth, a desire so easily attainable to the richest of the rich. And your family was no exception to this. You came from a family on the top of it all, all thanks to you and your stardom.
It started when you were young; just barely old enough to walk and talk properly. Your parents had modeling gigs, acting gigs, all the potentials to make you famous. And it worked. People adored you.
But at home, adoration doesn't come with respect. You were simply seen as a status, not a person. Your family used you for your name. Others used you for your usefulness to them. Your bodily autonomy was stripped from you early on. You hadn't known warmth from others ever.
Then, the Straw Hats reach your home. You were at the prime of your popularity, having just signed with a company you wanted nothing to do with. You had longed for freedom from the public eye. You wished for a private, quiet life somewhere else. What seemed like a distant dream become more attainable with their presence.
They dismantled the system your island was built on. The richest were taken down, including your family. And when you begged the pirate crew to allow you to travel with them, at least until you were far away, they felt pity for you. Especially Sanji.
Sanji adoration for women was a vital part of who he was. Witnessing on your island how men "admired" women utterly disgusted him. He didn't need a genius to reach the conclusion that you suffered similarly.
And so, Sanji devoted his time to making you comfortable.
On your first morning on the ship, you woke up before the sun rose. Back home, it was better to avoid others in the morning. Their scrutiny was unbearable, especially in the mornings. You didn't expect to see anyone.
"Mornin'" You jumped at the sudden voice that was heard from behind you. Whipping around, you see Sanji sipping tea.
"Thirsty? I'll be making breakfast soon so help yourself, my sweet."
"Oh.. no, I'm sorry. I can leave."
"Please, I insist. Besides, no one ever leaves my kitchen hungry."
There was no insult to your appearance, no comment on how you should skip breakfast, no request to leave, just kindness. Your feet tremble as you sit where Sanji once did, glancing down into the tea. You serve yourself as Sanji silently starts working on breakfast.
Those were your mornings with Sanji. Silence and peace. Every once in a while, the two of you would share a small conversation about your plans for the day. Outside of that, you simply coexisted.
You found yourself drawn to Sanji outside of those mornings soon enough. He'd serve your meals first with a genuine smile. He'd check on you when the crew was getting just a bit too loud. All of those restless nights, when you were up thinking about home, it was Sanji there, supporting you.
You finally felt comfortable enough opening up about your childhood. Every bit of trauma that molded you into who you were. Everything your family pushed you to do. The irreparable damage that came with your home. And you were met with Sanji's kindness. His eyes softened, his tone became gentle, all for the sake of listening to you. He wasn't treating you like you were fragile, but rather, someone who needed that comfort.
"I'm so sorry.. everything that happened should have never happened in the first place, mon cher."
"Well, you can't change the past, can you?"
"Perhaps not. But, I can protect your future. I owe that much to you."
After that night, the crew began to notice a shift in your relationships. You were more responsive to the crew. You began to build friendships with them. You learned about each of their ambitions, their interests, their personalities, everything. You were more present and they adored it.
The relationship between you and Sanji also grew. Your interactions were now filled with lingering touches. He called you endearments more than your actual name. He found himself drawn to being your partner rather than anyone else's on island adventures. Because you provided him a fulfillment; a fulfillment to provide for someone who was willing to receive it.
On the other hand, he felt guilty for falling so quickly. You were new to this life, and he should give you more time, right? How much time did you need before he came off too strong?
It was a cold, breezy night when he confessed his feelings for you. You were sitting on the deck when he brought a snack, launching into casual conversation. You decided to thank him for everything he's done, for all of his work to make you feel better about life at sea.
From then on, he couldn't hold it in. Sanji tearfully admitted how strong his feelings for you had become. He would apologize over and over again for his quickness of it all, but his feelings were too strong to hold in.
"I'm so in love with you, it hurts my heart. I want to be by your side for all of our lives. I want to find the All-Blue with you. I want to hold you, laugh with you, cry with you, explore with you, live with you. I'm so in love with you, chérie."
"Sanji.. oh Sanji.."
"I will always be by your side, no matter what. You are so important to me."
Relief flooded his body when you reciprocated his feelings. The tearful hug and kiss you shared on the deck of the ship would be engraved in his soul for eternity. And as you both stared at the distant island from that day's adventure, you let out a breath of relief, finally letting go of your past.

₊˚⊹ I've Never Been So Fragile !
⊹ vinsmoke sanji
⊹ Sanji finally meets a woman after his own heart; he did not think a part of him would not be able to handle it.
⊹ fem!reader, flirty reader, jealousy, mild hurt/comfort, more sanji speaking french, use of petnames, lots of flirting, reader flirts with someone else, getting together, title is from fragile by laufey !
Sanji's flirtatious nature comes from his great respect for women. Time and time again, he's reminded that many men do not respect women the way he does. He constantly sees his female crew mates face discrimination solely because they are women. In a way, his flirting is his way of compensating for others' mistreatment.
However, there was a different side to his flirting. There was a part of him that hated to admit it, but he yearned for a love so strong, it would fill his soul. He wanted a love that could satisfy his flirtations, making him feel whole. He wanted someone who could do that for him, and more.
He never thought he'd meet someone who made him feel the same way he made others feel.
When the Strawhats ported on your island, Luffy immediately dragged everyone to the nearest restaurant. In his words, he was starving, though Sanji would testify he ate a mere hour ago. They weren't introduced to you until they sat at a table near the bar.
You were nearby, wiping down the bar top while chatting with another customer. Your eyes shined as he ordered a drink, eliciting a compliment from your lips. You told him he had good taste as you turn your back to pour his drink.
As you approached their table, Sanji's eyes caught you first. You radiated confidence and beauty, Sanji would insist. There was the smallest moment his whole world stopped, zeroing in on your being. However, that world would resume quickly after, as you spoke to the table.
"Good evening!" You chimed happily. "You all seem like hungry pirates. Can I get you something to eat?"
Sanji was hopelessly vexed by your presence. When it came time for him to order, he did what he did best. "Well, Mon très cher, everything sounds so divine, just like you. I'm having a hard time choosing."
"Well, handsome pirates such as yourself love our steaks. But maybe you'd be more interested in something sweeter, to match your sweet attitude."
It came out so smooth and quick that Sanji nearly choked on his water. There was a snort of laughter from a few in the crew. It all happened so fast, and you walked away before Sanji could utter another word. You effectively played at his game in the first round.
Nami was first in her teasing. "Wow, I think she out-flirted you, Sanji." She said with a laugh.
Many in the crew followed soon after, but Sanji tuned them out. His eyes never left you at the bar. You were so charismatic, convincing each customer who visits to tip you well. Even when you brought their food, you shot a wink Sanji's way, further fluttering his heart. Is this how he made others feel?
The visit to the isle ended with you joining the Strawhat pirates. A life at sea seemed real for you, giving more freedom than you imagined at home. Luffy made a convincing argument, insisting he needed you for "crew morale".
And, of course, Sanji was also quite convincing.
You didn't show it, but Sanji's flirtation made you enamored with him. He always knew what to say and when to say it. His cooking was incredibly delicious, always served with that same charming smile. Though, you could also say Sanji was somewhat of an enigma.
When you joined the crew, both of your flirty attitudes were directed at each other. Gone were the days of Sanji yearning for Nami or wooing Robin; his attention was staunchly on you and your beauty. He never felt like his advances were unwanted by you, that he could constantly compliment you and never run dry.
Sure, Sanji was still kind to every woman he met. But there was no longer an urge to fulfill their romantic desires — Sanji only wanted you to have that side of him now. Unknowingly, his heart latched onto you. He was wholly dedicated to you without the smallest awareness. It simply happened.
Though, Sanji became quite aware one day, months after you joined the crew.
The day brought a pit stop to a small island with a number of vendors selling goods. The crew agreed to split off and buy what was needed, and only what was needed, Nami insisted. You broke off with Sanji to find wonderful ingredients for meals.
As you walked along the street, the smells of new foods reached your nose. It was delightful to be absorbed in so many new smells and sights.
"It's beautiful here." You say, smiling at a group of children that ran by.
Of course, Sanji took his chance. "Nothing is as beautiful as you, my dearest. But yes, I do agree. Everything about this island is wonderful."
The two of you approached a stall selling various produce. The man seemed excited he had customers, shooting up and standing behind his products.
"Welcome! Looking for anything in specific?"
You smile sincerely. "Not particularly. You have such beautiful produce!”
The compliment flew over Sanji’s head at first, not provoking too much thought from him. However, as the conversation went on, he began listening closer.
“Why, thank you, miss!” The vendor tips his hat. “I always love a compliment from a pretty girl such as yourself.”
You laugh gently. “My compliments should be obsolete for such a wonderful man. I appreciate the flattery though!”
“You can have all of my flattery, honey.”
Sanji’s heart was beating rapidly in his chest. It felt like bile was rising in his throat. The whole interaction made him feel sick.. but why? You weren’t his girlfriend.
You weren’t his girlfriend.. god..
“You know, I want to invite you for an extended stay on the island, if you’d be interested.” The man spoke with a wink. “I know all the best spots in town for a pretty lady.”
He had enough.
Before you could respond, Sanji puts down a vegetable from the stall, sliding your way. His free arm slid around your waist as he smiled with low eyes. The smile was sly, almost like a warning to the man across the way.
"Oh, my dearest, we mustn't extend our stay. Especially for such.." His eyes look at the man up and down. "Trivial matters."
The man's eyes widen in panic as he bows his head. "I apologize! I believe I misunderstood the relationship here."
Sanji hums as the man rushes away, flustered. You glance at Sanji, who simply ignores your looks. He couldn't possibly face you, especially when his heart is still beating loudly in his own ears. He'll deal with the consequences later.
The crew was back at sea before the sun went down. Everyone said the had a fun time, but you couldn't get Sanji's behavior out of your head. He was acting so off, you couldn't shake it. Was something bothering him? What was so bad about your chat with the vendor? He wasn't your boyfriend.
You had to confront him.
You reached the door of the galley, opening it with a gentle creak. Sanji didn't turn from the sink; he already knew it was you coming to speak with him. He's been bouncing his leg with anxiety the entire time.
"Smells wonderful." You say, taking a seat at a nearby bar stool. "New recipe?"
"Of course. I had so many new ingredients to work with." Sanji said, continuing to skin a potato over the sink.
There was a long, bearing silence. It was awful to feel so awkward around someone you once were so comfortable with. But such discomfort was needed. You had to know.
"Sanji.." You start with a sigh.
Sanji immediately sets down his peeler. "I must apologize for my actions today."
He beat you to the punch. Not once did he turn to face you as he spoke.
"I acted out of line, and I apologize. I am not one to dictate who you should and shouldn't interact with. I really am sorry, mon cœur."
You tilt your head, gently placing your hands together on the table. "Sanji, look at me?"
Time seems to stop as Sanji turns to face you. He looked a mess, more than ever. His face showed some semblance of crying. His hair was askew, frizzing in places Sanji never allows it too. He seemed frazzled, as if what he's done will haunt him forever.
"Oh Sanji.." You say, pitying his state. "I'm not upset with you, truly. I just... I want to know why."
Sanji combs his hair with his hand, as if mentally debating something. Then, with a sigh, he let's it all loose.
"Because I was jealous." He admits, and your breath hitches. He stares directly your way, a soft look reaching his eyes. "You are the most incredible woman I've ever had the pleasure of being around. Every time you speak to me, my heart does back flips and cries when our conversation ends. I'm so in love with you, it hurts."
You open your mouth to speak, but Sanji shakes his head. He's not done, is what he means. He slowly rounds the bar counter, standing next to you and clasping your hands in his own.
"Je ne peux imaginer ma vie dépourvue de ta présence. Mon très cher, you've had my entire being for so, so long. Even if you don't feel the same, I could no longer keep it to myself. I will support whatever you choose to do with this, with us."
You lacked the proper words to respond to Sanji. Instead, you place a gentle hand on his cheek, swiping the tear that had fallen from his eye. You give a smile, and oh, Sanji will cherish that smile for the rest of his life.
Overwhelmed with emotion, you finally respond. "Oh dear, I just wish you told me sooner." You say with a soft tone. "I care so much about you, Sanji. You make me feel so special, so loved. How could I not love you too?"
Sanji smiled so brightly, as if he found the All-Blue. The very thing he was so worried about turned out to be for not. You loved him, he heard it with his own ears. Now he could love you out loud, to your face.
As the two of you shared a first kiss in the galley, both of your hearts swell with love. The flirty nature that stemmed from the longing to be loved finally paid off for both of you, and neither of you wanted to let this moment go.
