I’m working on designing a blathers animal crossing cosplay but in the mean time I’m making tiny fossils out of clay while I combat a head cold

Went to Katsucon this past weekend! Had fun, ran around with friends

And importantly did a silly cosplay

a couple of extra how-it’s-made details of my holiday Vash coat:

I designed the stitching patterns first in illustrator (base pattern by alchemical cosplay), printed them out and then cut out each section to act as a stencil

the fabric was too stretchy to just satin stitch and I didn’t have a walking foot yet (this project prompted me to buy one 🫠)

Instead I used a cut away stabilizer and traced the patterns onto it and the fabric itself. I would have preferred tear away stabilizer but it was just not enough to keep the stitching steady

It also made for a neat effect when the inner fabric was fused to the outer

Didn’t make it out to any holiday cons this year, so throwback to my holiday Vash coat featuring plant lines that look like a Christmas tree!

I spent 20 days straight satin stitching this mofo please observe

Dragoncon was a crazy time like always

This year I actually made costumes for non cosplay friends to join - the parakeets + the king from the Boy and the Heron

Restyled the front of my Vash wig a little and got to wear it out to Awesomecon this past weekend!

I have a bit of a break before my next con so time to work on other costumes and get back to drawing a bit!
