I have my talents.
I’d like to think that it’s a bit of both actually. Why not give it all you’ve got when you’ve finally got your chance? It’s either that or keep practicing them in the mirror.
Lucas watched her carefully, the amused smirk on his lips when he knew that he was pushing where he didn’t belong in a place that he should have been more grateful had taken them in at all. But every time she made a job at his leadership skills, questioned the type of man that he was, he couldn’t deny that it got him a little hot under the collar and sharp on the tongue.
Is that what you think happened, is it? I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that us coming to bail you out from being dead in the water here. That’s cool. You couldn’t be farther off from the truth of things. As ingratiating as you seem to be, your people shouldn’t suffer for the actions of their boneheaded leader. They’ll be safe here as long as they’d all like to stay. As for you though, I wouldn’t test my compassion again. You’re sitting on two strikes right now, and the third is when I get real fun.
