cw violent history of race, mention of rape Friendly reminder that we can't just forget about race or solve economic, material and REAL problems along racial lines by not talking about race because Black and brown people have NEVER been compensated for the horrors of slavery, bondage, rape, mutilation, human trafficking or systemic economic, political and social oppression since and our religiously color-unaware society politely- actually VERY IMPOLITELY- asks people of color to shut the fuck up because they never mattered in the first place.

LOOK AT THIS LOOK AT THE FOUR PERSON GAP BETWEEN today in the elevator we're like 15 ppl and I asked them all if they we're going to vote. none of them are. hopefully I encouraged them and told them how much I love Bernie. I also told them I think HRC is a lizard person, but i not sure they caught my reference. anyway, YOU MATTER. And this election has me on the edge of my wheelchair seat bc contrived parts of politics/media aside, it matters and I think this is a very critical point of our human story.

Woke up this way

I swear they installed this symbolic and worthless "solution" faster than they clean Disabled bathrooms, let alone making actual improvements in access. Also, it is no more inclusive than the old one. In my manual chair I look like this, in my powerchair I look like the other. I am both symbols and many Disabled people are represented by neither, so it does nothing in the inclusivity department. Did you know non-Disabled people designed this? They did so to make disability appear less "inactive" and more "able." What the fuck? Sure, solve ableism by shoving disability into ableist ideologies of valuable, active and PRODUCTIVE bodies. Not only does implementing these symbols make non-Disabled people feel like they are helping when they're not; they are indicative of entire oppressive economic and social systems that wreak havoc on Disabled people's livelihood and well-being. I bet university leaders are really patting themselves on the back about this one. Look how much care and critical analysis they dediated to this process!
