While many of the “look-at-me” generation are busy looking for fun and putting off big decisions, you’re diligently working on your 10-year plan. Instead of expecting our parents to provide or do certain things for you, you quietly rise up in the morning, cook your own breakfast, and often go to the market and even cook for the family. When you knew you were going to be working far from home, instead of expecting gifts or attention, you immediately thought of how to make grocery shopping and doing household chores less taxing for Mom. You do so much and yet expect so little. Sometimes, we wonder where your discipline and knack for organizing things and planning came from. What a joy it is for us your family to consider you a som, brother, and friend. Truly, you’ve often been the arms of God, looking for how you can serve and lightening our burdens. The fact that us kids and our friends constantly seek your advice and long to spend time with you and bring you on our trips far away shows the kind of relationship you’ve built with us. I remember your frequent reminders about friendships - that they’re alive and dynamic, not something you put away, neglect for a while and go back to when it’s convenient. There are times when you have to be there, do things for the other person even when it’s inconvenient and you don’t feel like it. Thank you for caring enough to remind us of the things that matter even if doing so might make you appear adversarial! At any given day or time, one of my greatest wishes is to be able to spend time with you, and the family. Your sweet and thoughtful personality is such a wonderful blend with the tough/strong-willed. Celebrating the birth of my two equally handsome and precious brothers. I miss Tim, his quiet presence, and his ability to make any situation funny, no matter how annoying or heartbreaking it is. In a place where many take things too seriously, how I wish I could just come downstairs and laugh upon hearing his sarcastic quips. Funny as he is, his ability to fast track paper work and deal with adult matters is impressing. His ability to read people and listen well makes him an excellent salesman, beating the loud and proud. I miss Paolo who despite his short visit was able to meet and chat with my dear students and solve my tech needs. It’s comforting to know that in his quiet and simple way, he could take care of those around him. I pray for you both - that you’ll hold fast to Him and be in the center of His will. How I long to see you two and celebrate with you!
