LinkedIn Assignment
My LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/shenery)
I found two articles on LinkedIn relating to my beat using the LinkedIn search engine and limiting my search to posts. The first I could use in a post relating to getting your art noticed or marketing yourself. The second is a good resource for how to begin selling art using social media and your existing connections.
I also posted an update on my LinkedIn that connected to a post on my WordPress blog.
Live Tweet Event Coverage
Last night I live tweeted the Super Tuesday watch party at Purdue for COM 407.
A disadvantage of live tweeting was keeping up with the things people were saying during interviews and discussions in order to get direct quotes. It’s also not very conducive to correcting auto-correct, as in it’s very easy to let spelling/grammatical errors get away from you as you try to keep up with the event. I am rather disappointed with my performance because of this (and the inability to edit tweets).
A benefit of live tweeting is seeing/hearing about things as they’re happening. Personally, I would rather read an article in a newspaper or online about the event than read tweets. I think if it’s a long event and you can’t be there for the whole time then keeping up with and reading live tweets would be a good option but, otherwise, I’m not really a fan.
I’m hoping to live tweet another event for the final grade but I think this experience has helped me learn what to do to successfully live tweet an event.
Art Blog Twitter List
I created a list to organize Twitter accounts I’ve started following for my blog:

Potential FB post advertising for my own blog post

French by Design
This post (below) by French by Design is effective in that the post and the taglines are all short, but interesting. By asking a question in the post it intrigues the reader to follow the link to their blog.
