head  nods  ,   equal  parts  pleased  and  determined.    an  office———this  is  all  the  more  reason  to  send  saras  home  with  flowers  ,   with  a  vase  etched  in  brilliant  designs.   perhaps  a  wreath  as  well  ,   or  a  daisy  chain  ?   when  wil  imagines  an  office  ,   they  see  a  greyish  white  room  with  a  desk  ,   perhaps  some  arrangement  of  seating  ,   and———if  the  person  is  very  lucky———a  window  ,   maybe  even  two.   they  see  droll  ,   lifeless  ,   they  see  work  apart  from  the  world  ,   a  place  in  need  of  color  and  brightness.   maybe  they  can  find  saras  a  tapestry  ,   send  them  fireflies  to  live  within  the  office  ,   liven  up  the  place.

eyebrows  are  knit  together  ,   as  though  cogs  now  turn  in  their  head.           ❛❛   is  your  office  greatly  in  need  of  lovely  sights  ?   i  could  send  you  along  with  much  more———i'm  thinking  of  garlands  ,   perhaps  a  wreath  ,   anything.   a  sinclair  farms  care  package.  ❜❜          they  stand  now  ,   up  and  away  from  the  flowers  ,   brushing  their  hands  together  ,   smoothing  their  skirts.   eyes  peer  about  on  the  ground  ,   as  if  searching  for  something  ,   now  ,   looking  for  a  good  ,   flat  spot.          ❛❛  i  also  thought  we  might  bring  our  lunch  here  ,   later  ,   have  it  as  a  little  picnic  by  the  flowers.   only  if  you  want  to  ,   of  course.  ❜❜

MIRTH GLIMMERS IN HER EYES, : ETHEREAL GOLDS GLOW! she lets out a breathless chuckle, what an angelic tune, as she shakes her head lightly as a response. A TRADITION, for every seat of the convocation to take up the office of their predecessor. ( though sarastus' own mentor took the memories &. trinkets of her own adventures with her ; the regal office remained just how it belongs to one who takes the seat of azem. meaning, full of trinkets &. memories of her own now. ) ... ❝ that is a generous offer, ❞ SWEET PLAYFULNESS, a testament to the mischievous, adventerous spark within! how much more joy would it fill GOLDEN HEAR WITH, to have more to remember wyll by. for who can say, when travels of azem would bring her here next? ( your duty is to the star, after all. ) ... all the more reason she allows her heart to take in this moment ; to enjoy it to the fullest. A DIVINE SIGHT, the warm smile on her lips. ❝ nothing would fill me with more joy. ❞ a genuine statement confirmed further with a nod.

the darkness has always been a safe place for din djarin to hide without the helmet. in those miniscule moments of airy freedom, beskar removed and set aside, the mandalorian breathes as himself, bare, exposed to the pitch darkness of a shadowed hideaway. he rarely gifts himself time in this hallowed place, simply because grogu and sarastus occupy its depths now, too — he cannot risk the exposure, can't risk the sight of his face, broken by the way of the mandalorian warrior. the creed says he must not be seen and may not remove his helmet, but even the ways around that demand are rare and sacred. he can't let @sarastuss see him. he can't let grogu see him. he can't let anything past the walls... and yet...

her glow fades. that's the riskiest thing about having her here, for one flash of her natural light risks his whole sense of self. she could turn to glow, reveal his expression, and compromise everything he's fought to hide. but she's not like that. she wouldn't. she can't. as her hand eases under his helmet, din takes it off, and the pitch darkness of the razor crest buries his truth beneath an impenetrable wall.

when he kisses her, it happens slowly. she's touching his face for the first time in her life, and he's kissing someone for the first time in many, many years. he doesn't remember how to do this (it takes din one or two attempts before his lips relearn their means of movement). tasting her, easing closer to sarastus the longer they kiss, din's gloved hand smooths around her waist and latches there. he has no desire to remove it. the longer they press, the deeper the darkness takes them — even when he opens his eyes, it's like his eyes are closed. she's not there, not glowing — his only proof of her presence is another kiss... then another.

by the time din's had his fill of numerous kisses, melting into sarastus's form and crowding her close to his body, his breath has grown ragged. coughing, he steps back. a frantic hand finds his helmet just in time; she begins to glow again. they're back to a blank stare, a silence.

"i'm... bad at that." it's the only thing he can conjure up in his mind. din smiles behind his helmet as sarastus's cheeks start to glow. "but i'll get better."

HOW MEANINGFUL IT ALL IS, : THE WAY HER HAND CAN REST AGAINST HIS CHEEK, &. not against the signature helmet. how their lips can meet in a slow dance. what a strange, strong feeling this is ; all the more dangerous. but it does not stop her, when has danger ever done so? no, after the briefest of pauses when his lips part from hers, THERE COMES A NEED, a want for more. ... eyes remained closed, the dim glow of her hues contained, &. so was his secret.

BUT LUNGS DEMAND AIR, : THOSE HUNGRY KISSES EXCHANGED HAD TO COME TO A HALT, &. the moment it happens, list of various emotions run through that radiant soul. slowly, eyelashes flutter as her eyes open when his breath that could be felt against her lips disappears, has been gone for long enough, ... his voice, now one his helmet alters just slightly confirmation enough. HEAT FLOWS TO HER CHEEKS, &. what a rare occassion, to render this champion so speechless, frozen almost. she clears her own throat quietly, averting her gaze as she does so. ❝ no, that was, you were, ... ❞ ANGELIC VOICE SO SMOOTH &. WARM, usually always ready with an answer, but now lacking one. ' collect yourself. ' ( there is an indication that there is more to come. that only adds to the flustered state she is left in. ) ... on this rare occasion, she gives up, what it comes to finding the right words that is.

he held her as she's made undone, spilling veracities and innermost fears; the final days, he's heard of its tales. bore witness to its ruination, the aftermath. emet-selch honored him of such when he served as the ascian's captive. a harrowing sight, spreading and engulfing the very star a phenomenon endangering yet another. a remembrance of what sarastus once lost. what she stood to lose now. wordlessly, his hand separated from her arm, reaching to cup her cheek. her aureate stare looked back at him, terrors stirring within its pools; how he wished to conquer all that plagued her with a mere swipe of his thumb. 🙶 i see, 🙷 he whispered, soft in tune, caressing her. 🙶 thank you for telling me, my warrior. it's a heaviness proven encumbering, these haunts. and ones i'd like to help shoulder, 🙷 he's brought back to his confessions at her chambers, a stalwart friend, lover, whatever she wanted him to be and he'd let it be so, ready to carry with which she's willing to privy him to. g'raha smiled then, expression full of color.

🙶 we will overcome this, as we always have. that much we've determined and more, 🙷 one, final touch and he lets her go, confidence to his manners fumbling into a familiar bashfulness evident by the swish of his tail. his ears flicked to the sound of clinking plates, and wondered: 🙶 ...have you eaten? mayhaps warm food will aid in quelling some of these anxieties, 🙷 he slinked back into his chair, gesturing to the vacant one next to him. 🙶 come. a light meal should suffice. 🙷

PAIN RE - LIVED, : IT IS LIKE IT IS DONE AGAIN &. AGAIN. first, when those memories resurfaced ; the echo revealing, forcing the truth out. &. then, came the re - created amaurot by emet - selch hades, &. so was its' downfall, &. now, this ... when all that she has gained now, all that she has protected is threatened again. SHE WON'T LOSE, SHE CAN'T. not again. ( this silent vow hers alone, for she would take any means necessary for the realms, the scions, him ... ) his touch is so grounding, so needed now. so much so when his hand leaves her a moment she almost feels the need to reach for it again, yet he beats her to it. ... &. for a moment, tormented heart, weighed heavy by duty can relax, leaning her cheek slightly towards his touch. BUT FEAR REMAINED, SHE DID NOT HIDE IT, not what it came to him.

HERE HE GOES AGAIN, : SHE WONDERS DID HE EVEN REALIZE THE EFFECT HE HAD? with a duty like her own comes loneliness, of certain kind ; but despite this, he does not give up. always he has been there, OFFERING HIS STRENGTH, all that he can give. &. not only to her, but the realms just the same. ... a nod in regards to his statement, smile shining once more, slight as it may be now, it is still genuine as ever. ❝ we will, ❞ IT IS FINALIZED, THEY WOULD WIN. no matter the cost, remember hero. &. gaze travels to the vacant seat next to him, &. there was no need to tempt the warrior further. a brief exhale, containing relief. ❝ you are correct, ❞ as he tended to be ; she takes the empty seat beside him, gaze remaining on him. ❝ it would only be harmful to press on with an empty stomach. ❞ EVERY OUNCE OF ENERGY WOULD BE REQUIRED! though her tone is much more light - hearted, troubled mind still remained. but the burden was easier to bear, when he was beside her.

“  don't i? ” the ease in which he replies pairs with soft footfalls as he comes to stand before her, the way his lips curl into a gentle smile, his head dipping to one side. an easy, yet curious, gesture, eyes gliding across her features as if to detect anything other than want and willingness. he could almost hear the racing of her heart, see the thrum of her pulse, the way her eyes lower for but a moment before flitting away. just enough to satisfy the question that continued to spring into his mind. she wouldn't be here if she didn't want him. a tiny inhale, and he exhales an audible sigh of relief, “  indeed you did. ”

“  there's no harm in lavishing you with compliments, is there? we're not only here for me, after all, ” a hand raises to beckon her closer, fingertips daring to brush against the apple of her cheek, only to boldly lower and grasp underneath her chin. “  you deserve to be flattered, ” as he utters the words, he draws nearer, his lips parting in the anticipation of a kiss. it would be a simple thing, to lean in and steal as much from her. however, he finds the tension between them, that which electrifies the air around, addictive on it's own; nevermind the feeling of her breath against his lips. the gentle caress of his thumb against her chin traces the angle of her jaw and dips down, along the side of her neck where it comes to rest. “  but i know that's not all you want, is it? ”

HE SEEMS TO HAVE FOUND ANSWERS HE NEEDED, : NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY, HERO, ... when one radiates bright as yourself, emotions so strong are bound to be spotted. golden heart having leaked your feelings through your actions, those tiny details embedded so much into them. HE KNOWS, HE MUST DO. ( you have allowed him to. ) ... a thought that both excites, &. causes dilemma. answer is known by both of them ; yet the atmosphere taunts them. the forest providing them with the perfect cover, but also somehow so suffocating now, when they are so close. YET SHE DOESN'T BACK DOWN, DOESN'T SEEK THE EXIT.

THERE IS NO DEFENSE NOW, : GUARD IS DOWN. for a moment, duty is forgotten. for once, just this once, let her be selfish. ( you deserve it too, when will you realise? ) ... FIRE IN HER CHEST, &. he keeps fanning the flames ; his touch gentle, leaving anyone to crave for more. &. he doesn't leave her wanting, but delivers. his touch should be cold, she knows, yet it doesn't feel like it. ... THE RIGHT QUESTION FALLS OFF HIS LIPS, answering her own ; he knows. &. before she can consider it further, heart shows how resilent it can be. ❝ no, ❞ A MERE WHISPER, spoken against his lips before she leans in with clear want, one that she had tried her hardest to keep within. but now, her lips could finally taste his.

❛❛  maybe.    depends  ,     i  guess.  ❜❜            victor  watches  closely  for  any  reaction  ,     a  smile  curling  the  corners  of  his  lips  when  saras  takes  her  first  drink  with  no  hesitation.    HE'S  FUCKED  ,     ISN'T  HE  ?     GOOD.    like  she  said  ,     there's  something  in  it  for  him  either  way———if  he's  wasted  beyond  comprehension  by  the  end  of  this  challenge  ,     he'll  still  feel  that  he's  won.     won  a  break  from  everything  ,     won  the  grand  prize  of  being  so  pitifully  intoxicated  that  he  can't  tell  he  should  stop  ,     won't  remember  a  moment  of  this  day  in  the  morning.     and  the  headache  will  kill  ,     but   .  .  .     well  ,     he  has  methods  for  sending  pain  away.    they're  not  too  dissimilar  from  what  he's  doing  now. 

another  shot  ,     this  one  burning  the  path  in  his  throat  where  the  other  had  gone  down.     NOISE  OF  DISGUST  ,     WITH  SOMETHING  LIKE  LOVE  MIXED  INTO  IT  ,     A  SMILE.     terrible  stuff.     he  adores  it  ,     the  way  it  makes  him  feel.           ❛❛  if  you  like  challenges  and  gettin'  drunk  ,     then  technically  ,    there's  somethin'  in  it  for  both  of  us.     if  you  don't  ,   then   .  .  .  ❜❜          victor  takes  another  shot  before  the  last  can  wear  off.     this  one  makes  him  squeeze  his  eyes  shut  for  a  moment.           ❛❛  well  ,     if  you  didn't  i  don't  think  you'd  be  drinkin'  with  me  in  the  first  place.    or  maybe  you  can  just  make  the  feelin'  of  bein'  drunk  go  away.     ———can  you  ?    i  don't  know  how  you  work.  ❜❜          he  sounds  like  an  idiot.     its  already  starting.

SHE OBSERVES, : WATCHES AS MIXTURE OF REACTIONS FOLLOW THE STRONG DRINK AS IT GOES DOWN HIS THROAT. her own fingers gently around the small glass, it waits for her. &. before he could even calm the burning sensation, he takes another shot. A GOAL KEEN ON HIS MIND, THAT WAS FOR CERTAIN. ... CHALLENGES WERE HER FORTE, but that alone is not the reason that guided her actions. playful nature does radiate through, troublemaking or -finding tendencies etched into your soul, evident in the gentle curve of her lips. ( but concern still present, loathing the fact that he feels this is his only aid. )

SO COMBINATION OF MOTIVES ARE CARRIED, : WHEN THE SMALL GLASS IS BROUGHT TO HER LIPS AGAIN, swallowed without a fight. ... amused exhale sounds melodic, so close to resembling a chuckle. &. she shakes her head slightly, before turning her attention to him once more. ❝ you sound confident in your answer. ❞ ( this is to say, she means his initial statement. ) ... FOR THE MORE LIGHT - HEARTED SENTENCE ; A TEASE BREWED ATOP HONEYED TONGUE. ❝ sharing your presence with such ability would be quite counter - intuitive to your goals, would it not? ❞ there is a pause, as she averts her gaze to the new glass filled with strong liquid, mirth upon her features. ❝ besides, ... there seems to already be proof that such ability does not exist. ❞ given the state of him.

ᴹᴱᵀᴬ . SARASTUS &. LOVE :

ever since awakening again, &. even before that when she held the seat of Azem, Sarastus has carried a duty : taking on battles after another, giving everything she has to give for protecting the worlds / realms. the duty of the warrior of light, the duty of being hydaelyn's champion. she is a very selfless person, there is little next to nothing she would not do for the sake of others, especially those she cares for. ( there is her self - sacrificing tendency that swirls from her trauma that also plays a part. )

that being said, if / when falling in love, she views with someone with a duty like hers, her falling in love is selfish of her. for starters, she is a person who feels emotions strongly, she cares immensly for others ... but love, given the power of a feeling like it is very confusing at the start. it takes her a while to even realize what is happening, but her actions / mannerisms reveal signs towards such strong feelings. to be fair, it can be hard to deduce that they come out of romantic feelings, since Sarastus has been known to do acts of service to basically, everyone. of course she knows what love is, &. has felt platonic love towards others, but when someone invokes feelings beyond that, it is something she does not know how she should navigate. she is not one to distance herself as a way to make such feelings go away, she is rather the type to go &. think, " i am happy if i get to even be near them, or settle to be their friend. " indeed, sefless to the core.

&. the guilt comes with all of it indeed, very strongly at the start. i think it is a phase she won't get over easily, given the fact she knows she is very much a weapon at this point. she questions if someone in her situation can actually even be in love, or should be rather, considering both her duty as the warrior of light, &. that with all its' dangers. but, that doesn't stop her love from showing with her acts, words, &. even the smallest actions. like stated above, she will care for the person unconditionally regardless.

came up with the idea since in my portrayal, sarastus, instead of having her soul shattered into fourteen parts with the rest of the world, she was being protected by hydaelyn's magic, which saved her &. kept her as herself. though it could not save all of her, as in her immortality, part of her soul was wounded &. later traveled to the realm of the first to become ardbert ... unlike ' the unsundered, ' the ascians when going through the same event, did not lose immortality or their abilities, but they lost parts of their humanity, &. got more twisted by time. &. i just think there is poetry in that.

                        memories lay scattered in a land unknown. he, struggling to grasp at the delicate threads of all that has shaped him into who he was. when he closes his eyes, familiar faces flicker through his mind — with names lingering on the tip of his tongue, tantalizingly close yet frustratingly unvoiced.

clive lets out a sigh of his frustrations, and pushes the dark locks from his face as cobalt eyes remain intently fixed on the crackling campfire sat between them. when she speaks, a gentle yet careful smile graces his lips. ❝ thank you, sarastus. i am truly indebted to your help. ❞

bending one leg, clive rests his elbow upon it, with eyes still unwavering as they are drawn to the dance of the campfire's flames. the sight evokes a tightening in clive's chest — with something to be feared, yet a deep, unsettling familiarity. his metallic glove reaches out, grazing the flickering flames as they spark.

❝ i keep seeing a face, his face. but i don't ... ❞ his brows furrow. the face that follows him — the face of a boy who talks without a voice in his dreams. he's important, yet clive cannot grasp why that is. ❝ ... i don't know why.   ❞

SHE KNOWS JUST HOW HAUNTING IT IS, : TO HAVE YOUR PAST CHASE YOU. a race you can not win, for memories would always caught up. but not before they tease you ; almost showing you answers before fading away. ( is it better to remember or forget? ) ... the same struggle she sees upon his features now. &. golden heart aches for him. IF ONLY YOU COULD SHOULDER THIS SUFFERING OF HIS TOO, HERO. the fire crackles between them, the flames warming, yet not soothing enough. ❝ you are not, ❞ she corrects with a slight smile of her own, still so bright. ( it is almost playful, though the gravity of his struggle does not fade. ) ❝ i promised that i would aid you, after all. ❞ NEVER IN SEARCH FOR REWARD, TRULY HERO AT HEART AREN'T YOU?

THE LACK OF ANSWERS, : GHOSTS FROM THE PAST EVER SO TAUNTING. for a moment, sarastus remains silent. concerned glimmer in radiant hues as she watches him, before golden &. grey gaze averts back to the dancing flames. HIS MEMORY STILL NOT RETURNED, parts of it gone ever since he was discovered. ... ❝ i know how you feel, ❞ ANGELIC VOICE ALMOST LEAKS WITH WARMTH AS SHE SPEAKS, a sound so soothing though filled with a certain weight. ❝ it is annoying, isn't it? ❞ she lets out an exhale that almost resembles a laugh, the tune amused. ... but in truth ; more thoughtfulness towards the harsh reality weighed it down. SHE REFLECTS ; GOES BACK TO HER OWN EXPERIENCES TO SEEK SOMETHING TO AID HIM. ❝ he is the key to it all. ❞ otherwise it would not be the boy he constantly sees, that haunts his mind, begs him to remember. her eyes search his features again, ❝ do the memories ever change? ❞
