KILLING EVE S03E01: Slowly Slowly Catchy Monkey
not 2 sound whiny but i wish more attention was given to the importance of art and literature and philosophy and other humanities again so they'll return to being a really great part of what shapes a decade or an era instead of being seen as useless because they don't fit into the capitalist ideal of a productive society
Well…when you see the future, there is irony everywhere.
How did- how did she discover she could do this?

“I fully identify as bisexual,” Rubinstein says in an exclusive interview over Zoom from his Los Angeles area home. “I literally just got goosebumps saying that. It feels so good to talk about it, it feels so good to finally be comfortable with it.”
Rubinstein called his awakening “a journey” that was enabled by his work as an actor.
“The biggest thing for me is where I come from, it’s like people like me and people who have identified as bisexual or gay or as any part of the community, you’re just not welcomed. It’s as brutally honest as that,” he says. “It’s either you faced insane amounts of profanity, like the F-word was thrown around all the time or you would get your ass kicked if you were gay. So there was definitely a fear of sort of embracing how I felt. I was definitely more aware of it in high school. I was aware of my feelings and how I started looking at men, but I couldn’t talk to anybody about it.”
“Tarlos” paved the way to today. “The fans, especially the Tarlos fans, it’s one of the biggest reasons that I finally felt safe and comfortable to talk about it and to finally embrace it and be happy about it,” Rubinstein says.

See this is why I think it’s okay for actors who currently identify as straight publicly to play queer characters. Because it can give closeted queer actors a safe space to explore living their truth publicly without having to be out. There’s been so many actors who’ve had a story similar to his where they got to explore their sexuality publicly and safely while playing a queer character and that made them feel safe enough to come out publicly cause they were able to safely explore that part of themselves and feel comfortable coming out publicly. I still think that queer writers should be involved or at least consulted when writing queer characters just to make sure the writing is accurate but this is why I think it’s okay to have publicly straight actors play queer characters.
Once out queer actors have the same opportunities that straight and closeted actors have, I’ll agree with you. But until then, as lovely as this story is, I still think it’s extremely important that out actors get queer roles. Because they likely won’t get any others.
This is cool, though. I’m glad the fans and their support made a difference for him. It’s always good to have more out actors.
Herd immunity is the idea that if enough people get immunized against a disease, they’ll create protection for even those who aren’t vaccinated. This is important to protect those who can’t get vaccinated, like immunocompromised children.
You can see in the image how low levels of vaccination lead to everyone getting infected. Medium levels slow down the progression of the illness, but they don’t offer robust protection to the unvaccinated. But once you read a high enough level of vaccination, the disease gets effectively road-blocked. It can’t spread fast enough because it encounters too many vaccinated individuals, and so the majority of the population (even the unvaccinated people) are protected.
Find out more here.
This is why I hate it so much when people are like “well I’VE never been vaccinated and im fine!” yeah genius, it’s because all your classmates and coworkers were vaccinated.
Ok def was not expecting this level of relatability
