“…But, I thought it’d be kinda weird to say, y’know?” He paused before quickly moving to correct himself.

“Not that I wouldn’t wanna…! I mean, I just…thought it’d be a bit awkward since we’re not at that point yet and stuff.”

The corners of Yusei's mouth turned upward in a knowing little smile. It figured that Judai would become flustered over this, tripping over his words. 

"It's something nice to think about," He agreed. "On both suggestions."

“Well I guess if I married you I could do both, but…” He trailed off, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

"... But?" He pressed for a little more of an answer, blinking at Judai curiously.

"Hear my heartbeat? Just focus on that."

"Yu…sei?"

Kiryu’s voice came out broken and shaky. He wasn’t sure when Yusei had gotten there, but he greedily clung to him so he couldn’t get away. Following Yusei’s advice, he placed his head against his chest and listened to the steady thud, thud, thud of Yusei’s heart. It was okay now. He could breathe again.

"I had a nightmare," he murmured. "Pretty stupid of me, huh? Getting this worked up over a bad dream like I’m a little kid…"

"It's not stupid." Yusei confirmed immediately, rubbing slow and steady circles into Kiryu's back. He'd had bad dreams, too; they were all victim to them every now and again. Kiryu couldn't help that, perhaps, his were more violent than the rest. 

"Do you want to talk about it?" Even though he had a feeling he wouldn't, it didn't stop the younger duelist from offering. Yusei would have offered to get up and make him something hot to drink, if he weren't currently caught in Kiryu's selfish grasp.

“Can I kiss you?”

“Mm…I dunno, can you?” He teased, pressing his forehead up against the mechanic’s own. The shade of his cheeks seemed to light up in the glow of his shining grin, noses bumping slightly as they drew closer together.

"I think I can." 

Yusei closed the distance between the two of them, albeit awkwardly--he didn't have a huge amount of experience in kissing, but with Judai, he seemed to be able to ease into it. His lips pressed firmly against the other duelist's, but not too much so; it was just right, or as close to it as he could manage. Judai's lips were warm and soft, and Yusei knew that it'd be trouble when it came time to pull out of the kiss.

He paused; blinking eyes shifting down toward the arms of which clasped around his waist. Turning back to greet a familiar face, he felt the blood rush to his cheeks.

“Yusei…? What’s up, you okay there buddy?”

"Mm," Yusei let his eyes slip closed, relaxing against Judai's back. "You smell nice." He knew that he did; it wasn't a brand-new discovery, having had Judai's scent clinging to his jacket for a day or two after their fight against Paradox. 

Feeling a little daring, he let his lips run over Judai's neck in a butterfly-light touch, a smirk turning up the corners of his lips.

... Master, Crow?

        “….Yusei. You own me for five days.” this ought to be fun. Least its not Jack; he’d have him making coffee and running his errands for that time!

"... I don't know about 'owning' anyone. But I could use some help straightening up around here."

“Sounds good to me; I’m down with that.” He simply flashed the other an eager expression, surprisingly casual considering the circumstances at hand. Who was he to complain? Finding himself in the future wasn’t exactly the worst hand he’d drawn in life all things taken into account. Especially considering he’d be in the company of a long time friend and companion that, despite their short time in knowing each other, he’d already became eager to associate with on a more casual basis.

You know, since the timeline wasn’t getting destroyed or anything this time.

“Since this is your home turf and all, I wouldn’t mind checking out the place. How about it Yusei, you think you could give me a little sneak peak of what the future’s like?”

Yusei wasn't so sure that showing Judai a lot of what the future had to hold was the best idea in the long run, with the unknown effects of time travel and all, but his being there so far hadn't exactly caused anything to happen, so he figured that it wouldn't do much harm for him to show him a few things. 

"Sure," He finally decided, grabbing up the small, cylindrical handheld computer and pulling up its holographic screen, so that he could check what was going on in the area. There were several events always going on in Neo Domino--mostly, Yusei used that information to find out how to avoid the heavy traffic that they drew, but using it for other reasons wasn't going to be bad. 

"It looks like there's some sort of dinner special at a traditional izakaya not too far from here. All of their sushi and seafood are half price tonight. You like fried shrimp, right?"

"Yusei?" Crow weakly laid her head on his shoulder,feeling dizzy again. "I hope I'm not bothering you.."

"No, not really."

"…Sorry." she mumbled,feeling like a bother. A small amount of tears left her eyes. “I still feel kinda sick.”

"Kiryu, this is..." Yusei didn't know what he was supposed to say about finding such a brutal thing online. It had been Jack and Crow that brought it to his attention, and even after having seen the image right in front of him, he couldn't believe it. Had they really been so brutal towards him? So cruel? Yusei turned to look at him, wondering how he could manage to keep getting hurt so badly by the authority around him, yet still keep getting up.

If in the whole world existsed someone who he didn’t want to know about that shit, who he didn’t want to ever see this, even if they’d knew…

It was him.

And here he was, straight after watching one of these few videos he tried to get taken down for a while already — the worst of them which he could find, seeing as he was handled by the same guard while he was in Facility. About this, however, Kiryu didn’t know yet.

"I…" What even he wanted to say? It rather didn’t need any further explanation.

To say he was shocked… no, it wouldn’t be enough. Sure, he was expecting him to react somehow strongly, but to hug him… to blame himself… But on the other hand, he should’ve known he will. That was just… the way he was.

"It’s not your fault, Starlight…" He whispered, softly wrapping his arms around the shorter male’s waist and pulling him closer.

Even so, Yusei felt like it was his fault, and that was something that he wouldn't be able to change. Now that he'd seen such a horrible thing, Yusei wished that much more that he could have done a better job of protecting Kiryu back then. 

"Still, I..." he mumbled against Kiryu's chest. He'd meant to hold onto Kiryu to protect him, but somehow, Kiryu was the one giving him comfort, now. It was strange.

“Well, ya know, the usual I guess. It’s a pretty sweet gig—getting to see the world first hand and all, you feel me?” He leaned back, expression rather animated in light of reminiscing his frequent journeys.

“Gotta say though, It’s pretty nice to see a familiar face once in a while, too.” He peered over at the other, wearing a broad grin. After all, great as his travels were, it was fair to say the business could easily become a rather lonely one at that.

"Having a familiar face makes the traveling easier, I'm sure." The farthest away that Yusei had traveled (time travel not withstanding) had been to Satisfaction Town, so he couldn't really say that he understood--or, as Judai put it, 'felt him.' Someday, he hoped that he'd have the chance to do something so frivolous and carefree. For now, though, his place was in Neo Domino, working hard to keep the city safe. 

"Since you're here, we should spend some time together, Judai-san." He returned the broad grin with a small smile of his own, his usual fare. The real smile was in his eyes, sparkling bright blue in the midday light.

"Kiryu, this is..." Yusei didn't know what he was supposed to say about finding such a brutal thing online. Without a second thought to his actions, Yusei wrapped his arms around Kiryu and hugged him tightly. That sort of thing--it was unforgivable entirely, and to have it done by that guard... he could shut his eyes and still remember the high voltage shocks running through his body, making his heart skip beats. 

"I'm sorry... I couldn't do anything." He apologized, scrunching his eyes up tight. That sort of treatment was the very last thing he'd wanted for Kiryu, ever, and he'd had to endure it.

He chuckled softly, gently caressing his cheek. It was… really good to know that he didn’t really change that much. That he really still was his adorable little Starlight.

"Well, probably because I do…" He whispered, smirking slightly as he moved his hand back. He didn’t want to seem too affectionate - sure, they used to be really close but… that was long time ago. Before he went insane. Before he wanted, before he tried to kill him.

"I’ve wondered where you disappeared." He added, like if he wanted to explain what he was doing here.

Though the movement was slight, when Kiryu pulled his hand away from Yusei's cheek, he tilted his head back towards where the hand had been a moment prior. He'd liked the gentle touch, and the look in Kiryu's eye when he'd been doing it. 

"... I've been right here." Yusei informed him. Right there, laying in bed, waiting for Kiryu to come find him. He hadn't intended to doze off in the warmth of the slowly sinking sun, but he felt safe enough in that house that he couldn't help but to have put himself in that vulnerable position.
