I absolutely love Adam's Seagull Orchestra version of Sailboats. While the "newer"(it's been over a decade) Sky Sailing version is beautiful too, the quality of the former has a certain charm. It really feels like you're sleeping on a boat, floating in a sea of clouds on a cool evening.

#it even feels a little... sad? not sure how to describe it #like a ghost floating around and saying goodbye to the world #I also love the part he left out of the SS version #the whole “buildiiiings(?) and freewaayyys and street liiights and painted pavements”(and so on) bridge #oh and the way this version ends abruptly gives me goosebumps #seagull orchestra #sky sailing #owl city

Mentioned this somewhere else, but a slightly different version I thought of was a tired Alhaitham and Tighnari both already wearing headphones while watching their partners drink and loudly play a match of tcg, and they end up falling asleep on each other – Tighnari's head on Alhaitham’s shoulder and Alhaitham's head on Tighnari's head. It's a little awkward with their headphones in the way, but it's still an endearing sight.

headcanon: one of the reasons alhaitham is so opposed to leadership roles/intense jobs is because he's prone to autistic burnout. he's forced himself to the limits of his potential before, and knows he never want to suffer that kind of mental and physical exhaustion ever again. no amount of fame, fortune, or prestige will ever be worth the loss of his quality of life.
