Steps for Letting go of Painful Memories
Experiences can leave us with some painful memories. They tie us to the past and prevent us moving on. And the only way to freedom is to work on letting go – so these memories don’t haunt us or keep us trapped in pain. Below are some guidelines to help you work on this.
1. Before you can let go, you must face whatever happened and accept that it is part of your past experiences. Suppression doesn’t work as a long-term solution. It can only be a band-aid that brings temporary relief. Talk to someone you trust, or write about it in your journal. You need to share what happened, in order to move on.
2. Identify the lessons you have learned from what has happened. There’s always a lesson – so look for what you’ve learned. It doesn’t make it better – but it does lessen its power.

Lacerations
Lucio: Everybody shut up. *picks up phone* Hey Mama.
Portia: HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!
Valerius: Come back to bed.
Julian: *various sex noises*
Muriel: Tell her I said hi.
Asra: Pass the weed!
Vulgora: *blasting out curse words*
Nadia: PUT YOUR PANTS BACK ON.
So, apparently, Asra’s confession can go two different ways. (…also it’s a paid choice.)
1.
Asra and the apprentice and how the world disappearing around them would be fine because they have each other.
To get this specific confession, go back to the previous books and select the choices that enable and encourage Asra’s desire to run away with the apprentice. Examples of these choices are: pretty much all of Book VIII but most specifically,
Muriel appears in the apprentice’s dreams and makes his usual ominous warnings about how the world falls away when Asra is with them, how it is always just the two of them. Calling it a good dream, among other similar choices, would most likely prompt this confession dialogue.
2.
This is his confession about how the apprentice has changed him, and how he sees the world differently just being with them. This is the one I got on my natural playthrough following my original choices before I went back and changed everything.
The “why do you love me” speech is a paid option. We know from being told multiple times that the paid choices have no weight in the Upright and Reversed ending, so owo what’s this?¿ Do these differences give insight to the which ending we’re going down? (probably.)
There have been some obvious differences in key scenes and dialogue this update, such as Julian’s reaction in the Tower and now Asra’s confession. (so, can someone go check if there’s anything different with Nadia too?)
The paid options have no weight in the choosing of the ending, but it doesn’t mean they can’t be affected by choices. So it’s confirmed, the paid options do get affected by choices…
Personally I think the differences count. For Asra’s route, I think his main problem is staying connected to people. The devs already mentioned before in an Ask Arcana that what we choose for the Upright ending isn’t necessarily what our beloved like to hear. That’s why I’m convinced that we’re supposed to counter their character flaws with our choices.
The Arcana doesn’t seem like our usual kind of dating sim, where if you play up to a character they’ll like you and that’s it, happy ending. It’s more progressive and involves spiritual development of a person in EVERY SINGLE ASPECT of its design. Down to the theme (tarot cards are used for self reflection, not divination), down to the characters (Satrinavas are based off the chakras etc). We are The Fool, us the players, following the Apprentice, making our journey from the start The Magician, to The World the end.
Maybe I’m reading too much into this? But I believe the devs intend for us to actually learn from this game, to understand ourselves better at the end of this game. It’s already helping me a lot, for sure. I ended up reading all the spiritual development stuff for clues and I’m making wiser decisions in real life. *laugh*
HOW TO GET THE UPRIGHT ENDING: Chakra Theory
Not sure if anyone’s talking about this yet. It’s not a definitive answer, but I noticed this since the Satrinava sisters arrived.
Besides the Arcana that they’re associated with, the flaws of our main 3 are loosely linked to the chakra areas where their mark of a bargain struck lies on. (I believe Muriel’s is as well, but we need to see his route first) The 3 specifically lack those traits, and the choices we get in game ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THESE TRAITS.
So as the theory goes, to get the Upright ending, you have to somehow fix their lack of these traits.
For Asra you have to be nice to people, connect him to them. Agree immediately to help Saguaro, and ask Asra to dance with the townspeople (don’t let him hide under the tree). Ask to go to a big city instead of somewhere remote. Say it’s a nightmare, vanishing together forever. Remember Muriel and say you’re happy to meet him. Side with Julian in the argument that Asra’s really hard to reach, so that Asra realises that he’s being distant. I think he eventually has to forgive Lucio as well (lol if we could even have that option the sky might fall down), but that’s speculation for now.
Asra’s Devil deal is the most tricky one, because I have a feeling we need to accept the Devil’s deal. Not at first, but on the second or third Yes/No. First No to test the Devil, second Yes to accept our fate. Trading a dead life (MC) for a live one (Faust), both of equal value (both part of Asra), shows acceptance of MC’s fate imo, just like how MC accepted her death. But this one’s really tricky, so I could be wrong. :/
Edit: A major difference in Asra’s confession just popped up, and it involves running away. I WAS RIGHT. I feel vindicated.
Also, this has nothing to do with chakra, but if you didn’t realise, choose to feed Asra a snack in the Masquerade. Asra doesn’t need a drink (his magic is water affinity, come on), but he LOVES food. ASRA LOVES FOOD. FEED HIM.
For Julian, we can already test it. If he’s jumpy (pun intended), and don’t like the idea of learning magic in The Tower, you darn screwed up. Be nice to him, but don’t let him be impulsive. Be grade A++ sensible partner so he doesn’t die before you can marry him and ride off into the sunset. (It’s a miracle he’s still alive) Also I highly encourage him to be a theatrical actor.
For Nadia,
The High Priestess encourages us to feel, rather than think. Collaborate, rather than compete. Create, rather than destruct. Be proud of our ability to nurture, trust, intuit, feel and empathise rather than hiding this away.
Be her wise advisor. Worm that info cleverly out of Valerius.. Be nice to Portia and investigate why Portia lied about Nadi’s sisters. Always have more information and be clear on what you’re getting into. Emphasize with her nervousness before the Masquerade. Don’t lie to her, show her what the ordinary parts of town really look like, the shopping district becoming the flooded district. And teach Nadia to be nice to her subordinates… Ludivico and Bludmila have to seat at the table. They would never dare cross her again, and showing generosity would make her a good ruler. Reject the Devil of course.
Keep in mind I haven’t done much testing for this. It’s just a theory… an Arcana theory. ;D

(Language anon) Dude, I mean your Spanish is awesome! I thought from the start you were a Latina (both because some of your posts are in Spanish and the fact that you drew some Mexican cultural references, but this does not necessarily mean you're a Latina, maybe you're passionate about Mexican culture and I am bad at guessing lol) but I wasn't sure since you write mostly in English.
No worries! Yeah, I speak mostly English, but getting better at Spanish is a big goal! I also speak Italian pretty well (better than Spanish since I lived in Italy for so long) and some crap Norwegian (also from living in Norway), so I’m just kind of a big mess in the language department. But to avoid confusion, I am Latina!
